First Actress of Nepal – Bhuwan Chand
The first movie featuring a female actress was ‘Aama’ and the first lead actress of the Nepali film industry Bhuwan Chand debuted in the movie. In an effort to provide so-called ‘celebrity cards’ to the Nepali film makers, Nepal government has completed the first phase of the distribution of the identity cards to some of the senior-most film makers. In an event organized in Singh Durbar on April 18, 2016 minister Sher Dhan Rai handed over film artist cards to 13 senior most film artists. Video report:
The artists who received the identity cards include: Nir Shah, Yadav Kharal, Laxminath Sharma, Uddav Poudel, Bhuwan Thapa Chand, Basundhara Bhusal, Subhadra Adhikari, Kiran Kharel, Manju Kumar Shrestha, Chetan Karki, Hariprasad Rimal, Shakuntala Sharma Guruung and Gehendra Dhimal.

The story and the script of the love story, family drama movie is written by Yubraj Lama. Sweta Gautam is the new presentation in the movie. The child artist is Bijaya Shrestha. The choreographer is Raju Shah, action of Rajendra Khadgi, editing by Narendra Khadka, cinematography by Shambhu Sapkota, music of Shubha Bahadur and the dialogue by the director Sital Nepal.
The movie ‘Surakshya’ is the first presentation of Ram Janaki Pictures by Shyam Pandey. The movie features the music of Madhu Chhetri, choreography by Raju Shah, action by NB Maharjan, cinematography by Shiva – Kishor Dhakal, editing by Shekhar Nautiyabad, script by Amrit Sharma / Rabi Aryal.
Nepali Movie ‘Deurali’ is a presentation of Tripur Sundari Films. The movie is made on story with action, revenge, drama and comedy. The music is composed by Shakti Ballav, lyrics by Dinesh Adhikari, action by Yogendra Shrestha, choreogrphy by Raju Shah, editing by Narendra Khadka, cinematography by Shambhu Sapkota and script/produced by Yuvaraj Lama.
A special screening of a movie made on a historical personality, ‘Bhimdutt’ was conducted in Kumari theater in Kathmandu on May 29, 2014. Before screening in Kathmandu, the movie was screened in USA, Hong Kong and Dadeldhura, the birth place of Bhimdutt.
