Shrinkhala got into Religion trouble again !

Last time it was Christianity. She distributed Santa Clause things during Christmas to poor kids and was accused of promoting Christianity to poor unsuspecting kids. She did that for the kid’s fun and entertainment.

Now, she is being the target of Muslim people in Nepal. There was a fashion show featuring hijab and Shrinkhala along with actress Priyanka Karki and banker Raveena Desraj participated in the fashion show. But, their participation was controversial.

This is what people think – “Now Promoting hijab. Next promote burqa. Next promote sharia law in Nepal. And next stone a woman to death in Tudikhel for marrying someone she chooses.”

One commenter says: “I am extremly disappionted @shrinkhala_ ..Hijab is a symbol of women oppression ..I am not against the people who wears it because its their choice but please do not encourage it ..it should not be something you celebrate.”

Shrinkhala controversy – Christmas hat to Chepang kids

Shrinkhala has gone through a controversy over her social work. She had donated some of the warm clothes she and her team had collected in Kathmandu to the Chepang community she is helping by building a health camp. The Christmas hat she gave the Chepang kids was questioned by some who thought she was promoting the Christian religion to the kids.

Shrinkhala Miss World Journey – April to December 2018

It was on April 11, 2018, Miss Nepal 2018 Shrinkhala Khatiwada was crowned the new Miss Nepal. Right after that, she started preparing for the Miss World competition. She did an awesome work to a Chepang community in her home district.

Right before Miss Nepal finale – Shrinkhala wrote – “Miss Nepal was not a coincidence for me. I have dreamed and visualized of myself being here for years now. I never told anyone because I was scared that people might not think I was worthy enough.”

And she won the title!

Miss Nepal 2018, Shrinkhala Khatiwada has made a new record in the Miss World beauty contest. Although the Beauty with a Purpose title was not to first for Nepal, Multimedia award was the first title to Nepal. Winning two titles in Miss World on the same day was another first in the Miss World contest. She will bring home more titles for sure:

Path to Miss World 2018, How to qualify for semi finals?

How can Shrinkhala go to semi finals of Miss World 2018? Here is the answer:

There are six contests. Only one of them has already completed – top model competition. In that contest, Shrinkhala was one of the Top 32. Remaining 5 contests are:

  • Head to Head Challenge
  • Talent
  • Sports
  • Multimedia Award
  • Beauty with a purpose

The three possible competitions she might win are Head to Head challenge, Multimedia award and Beauty with Purpose.

15 contestants will be selected by these competitions. There is a high chance that she gets more than one titles. If she wins more than one, she will be considered to be possible winner.

Miss Nepal 2018 says she won’t act in films and won’t do politics either

Shrinkhala Khatiwada visited her hometown Hetauda, for the first time after winning the Miss Nepal 2018 crown. Talking to journalists there, Shrinkhala told that she has no interest to become an actress because, “I don’t know acting and I can’t dance either.”

An architect by profession, Shrinkhala is planning to pursue her career in architecture. She told that, her background is different from those of the previous Miss Nepal. She told, “After being Miss Nepal, I will continue to work in the profession I am trained in.” She told that although her grandfather, father and her mother are active in politics, she has no such plans. He father Birod Khatiwada is the parliament member and her mother Munu Sigdel in the member of Pradesh Sabha.

She told, “Miss Nepal is not a model, she is a role model instead.”

My teacher touched me in high school, says Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada

Miss Nepal 2018 performed a spoken word poetry in the talent round of the contest. The poetry titled ‘Colors’ was about violence against girl children. After she was crowned Miss Nepal, she has decided to probe into the problem and try helping girls escape such crime.

In a Instagram chat with her followers, Shrinkhala talked about her experience and how such problems can be dealt with. I have created a video report with the main points of her discussion in the following video:

In the video, Shirnkhala has talked about how to deal with eve-teasing problem in the streets in Nepal. Although she didn’t give a solution, she sure has thought about it in detail and gave two different scenarios :

The Miss Nepal 2018, Shrinkhala Khatiwada is a smooth speaker. Apart from being an architect, she is a poet and a writer. She is in control when she speaks. It can be clearly seen in the following interview video of the beauty with brain.

In the following interview, Shrinkhala has clearly stated that she is not interested in acting or modelling. As she is an architect she is going to work in engineering field. She also talks about the controversy of Miss Nepal International 2017, Niti Shah. She tackled in such a diplomatic way that, it is pretty clear she can deal with such issues if she were in the receiving end.

25-year-olds can also apply for Miss Nepal 2018, 2 Additional audition destinations,

The application for the biggest beauty contest in Nepal, Miss Nepal, is going to be held among the contestants to be selected by various auditions in different cities in the country. The Audition will start from Magh 21 and will end on 27 (February 4 to February 10) in eight different cities. The auditions are going to be held in Dhangadi, Nepalgujng, Butwal, Pokhara, Birgunj, Biratnagar, Dharan and Birtamod. The last audition will be held on Falgun 5 (February 17, 2018) in Kathamndu. Birgunj and Birtamod are two additional cities the auditions that will also host auditions for Miss Nepal 2018, this year.

20 to 25 candidates will be selected at the auditions and they will go through 7 weeks of training before the finale to be held on April 11, 2018 on Hotel Annapurna.

What are the requirements of the contestants?

Like last year, the requirements of the contest are similar. Unlike last year, this year girls of age 25 can also apply. Until last year, the maximum age for the applicant was 24-years.
