Deepak Raj Giri compares his movie Chhaka Panja with Bollywood film Dangal

After being released in internet, film ‘Chhaka Panja’ has received both positive and negative comments. The movie that made record earning in theatre and celebrated 100 days in theatre, was also criticized harshly in social media. In response to the criticism, the writer and the producer of the movie Deepak Raj Giri has accused the Nepali viewers of creating unnecessary criticism of the movie.

Deepak has told that Nepali viewers criticize everything. He also accused that the Nepali viewers have a negative viewpoint of Nepali movies. He asked, “Are you trying to finish the Nepali movie industry trying to raise above the foreign films?”

To illustrate his point, he gave an example of what Nepali viewers would comment if the superhit Bollywood movie ‘Dangal’ were to be produced by a Nepali film maker.

Hrithik Roshan impressed by Teriya dance, offered to dance with her in a movie

The Bollywood actor and dancer, Hrithik Roshan, was one of the guests of the finale of Jhalak Dikhalaja, Season 9. After watching the performance of Teriya Magar and her partner, Hrithik was so impressed that he offered to dance with them in a movie. He said,’I is a wrong thinking that girls can’t do as well as boys. Today Teriya, you have ruled.” He added, “I wanted to try this at one time. At that time, I want you to do it with me.” He also added, “And, we will do it in a movie.”

Was Hrithik’s offer a credible offer?

Technically, it was not an offer. It was a plan Hrithik Roshan made right after watching Teriya’s performance. It was a impulse reaction without any backup plan. So, there is no plan of her role in any movies. I don’t know if Hrithik will remember his offer.

Namrata injured, met with an accident, Parva shooting halted

Actress Namrata Shrestha was injured when the vehicle she was riding collided with a Taxi on the night of January 21, 2017. Namrata was returning from the shooting sets of her upcoming movie ‘Parva’. The assistant director of the movie, Suresh Neupane was also with Namrata and he also had minor injuries on his feet. Both Namrata and Suresh are recovering from the minor injuries.

According to reports, the vehicle of TV Filmy was going from Shankhamul to Old Baneshowr. A taxi coming from Babarmahal collied with the vehicle at the intersection of New Baneshowr. The collision was so severe that it turned ninety degrees towards Babarmahal. Although the accident was a major one, they escape any serious injuries. Deepak and Deepa of Chhaka Panja formally ask police to investigate against themselves

The producer and director of ‘Chhaka Panja’, Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula have asked the police to investigate against themselves in a request letter submitted to the police. After returning from their Europe tour Deepak and Deepa had visited the police station to ask them to investigate the case of a suicide that was told to be caused after they threatened the victim.

After the piracy of the hit movie ‘Chhaka Panja’ the police had arrested 4 guys. The accused had shared the video of the movie with their friends. When the police found that they had only shared the video for entertainment and not for money, they released the guys.

Teriya Magar wins Jhalak Dikhhlaja 9, former Dance India Dance winner wins Indian Reality TV competition again

Nepali dancer, Teirya Magar has won the Jhalak DikhhlaJa season 9 title, a reality dance competition held by Colors TV. The former Dance India Dance winner Teriya had won the title in the competition recorded recently. The official result is yet to be out as the show will be aired on Saturday, January 21, 2017.

Teriya is just 14 years old and she was one of the youngest dancers in the competition.

As the report is unofficial, we need to wait till Saturday evening for the official confirmation. After winning the competition, Teriya has won 3 Million Indian rupees and a Reynold Duster car. The judges of the competition were Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Ganesh Haj. The dance choreographer of Teriya was Rishikesh and her dance partner was Aryan.

First Scandal of Nepali movie industry – Rajesh Hamal and Kristi KC kicked out of Bhagya Rekha

The first major scandal of Nepali movie industry was that of the affair between Rajesh Hamal and Kristi KC (now Kristi Mainali). That was even before Rajesh Hamal debuted in the Nepali movie industry. Full report of the scandal:

The events leading to the scandal:

  • Rajesh Hamal’s maternal uncle was debuting in the Nepali film industry as a director. Deepak Rayamajhi had studied film direction in Russia and had returned back to Nepal to start his career as a director.
  • Deepak Rayamajhi signed Rajesh Hamal and actress Karishma KC (now Karishma Manandhar) for the leading roles in ‘Bhagya Rekha’.
  • The Shubhamuharta of ‘Bhagya Rekha’ was held in Hotel Bluestar. The chief guest was the Foreign Minister of that time, Shailendra Kumar Upadhayay. All the guests including the minister and Karishma had arrived in time but, the debut actor Rajesh Hamal arrived one hour late.
  • At that time, Karishma demanded Rs. 10,000 more if she has to be featured opposite to a new actor.
  • Rayamajhi signed in Kristi KC after Karishma was out of the team.
  • After shooting for a few days, Deepak Raymajhi was rumoured to have suspected Rajesh Hamal and Kristi KC having an affair. He kicked out both Rajesh Hamal and Kristi KC from the movie.
  • Rajesh Hamal was replaced by Rabindra Khadka and Kristi KC was replaced by Mausami Malla.
  • The movie was successful and established Deepak Rayamajhi as a credible film director in the Nepali movie industry.

Shilpa Pokharel debuts as producer, Mangalam shooting starts

Actress Shilpa Pokharel has debuted as a producer under Chhabiraj Production banner. The next movie of Chhabi Raj Ojha is titled ‘Mangalam’ and is presented by the actress of the movie, Shilpa Pokarel. Shilpa is also named the executive producer of the movie. The movie was inaugurated in an event held at Ganesh mandir in Kamaladi and Maitidevi Mandir.

In the inauguration ceremony, the cast and the crew of the movie were present. The movie led by Shilpa Pokharel will also featured Puspal Khadka and Prithivi Raj Prasai in leading role. The shooting of the movie will start on Magh 7 at various locations in Kathmandu.

According to the producer Pokharel, all of the shooting of the movie will be done in Kathmandu. The movie team will go out of the valley for the shooting of a song in the movie.

Has Rajesh Hamal stopped acting? Busy in stage shows, currently in Salyan

Nepali superstar Rajesh Hamal was in Salyan for a cultural program on Janauary 16, 2017. In the event held in Sreenagar, Salyan, Rajesh Hamal was the chief guest and the main attraction. In the stage, Rajesh told that it was his first visit to Salyan was impressed by the warm welcome he received there. For the entertainment of the public, he also told some of his popular dialogues and danced to the songs by other singers on the stage.

It was a fun event. People enjoyed Rajesh Hamal’s presence. But, it seems Hamal is ignoring the field that introduced him to those people – films. He has stopped signing new movies after marrying Madhu Bhattarai. A few movies he did after marriage were not successful either. There is no news of any new movies of Rajesh Hamal.

Deepak Raj Giri answers on the accusation on the death of the Chhaka Panja piracy suspect

After being accused and arrested by the police, one of the four suspects, Krishna Subedi, was released on bail. But, he later committed suicide accusing it being a murder. In social network, Deepak Raj Giri was accused of being the cause of death. In response, Deepak Raj Giri, has asked the police to do an investigation and find the truth and has asked everybody to believe that he is innocent. A video report on what Deepak had to say:

Yama Buddha, Nepali rapper found dead in his London home

In a very sad news, Nepali popular rapper Yama Buddha was found in his London home. The 29 years old Anil Adhikari, popularly known as Yama Buddha, was one of the most famous celebrity in Nepal.

I am extra sad because, few hours before his death, I was making a video about him. In the list of top 10 Facebook celebrities, Yama Buddha was the only male Nepali celebrity. All others were female celebrities. I uploaded the video in YouTube (watch the video at the end of this post) went to the bed. I woke up to the news that the same Yama Buddha had committed suicide. I am really sad and I was literally crying while making the video above. I don’t want to write more here. I will try to update this post later.

Priyanka Karki hot avatar at Love Sasha premier, challenged the January cold

After returning back from the UK and the USA, it was Priyanka Karki’s first public function in a couple of months in Nepal. She went to the premier of Keki Adhikari’s new movie ‘Love Sasha’ on January 10 in a revealing dress although the weather wasn’t that much suitable for such type of dresses. The black dress was open on the front and the photographers were able to capture some cleavage of the actress while she was adjusting the hem.

Priyanka’s pose with the co-actor of her upcoming movie ‘Happy Days’ Sanjay Gupta was also the talk of the evening. They had shown their intimate relationship during the photo shot. Priyanka and Sanjay were in UK for the shooting of ‘Happy Days’ a while ago. The movie also features Dayahang Rai. After the completion of the shooting in the UK, Priyanka had gone to the USA for a short trip and returned back to Nepal a few days back.

Ajhai Pani debut actress Surakshya Panta comeback in Dhanapati and Suskera

The actress who debuted in Alok Nembang’s last movie ‘Ajhai Pani’, Surakshya Panta has decided to return back to acting. After a few years of absence the civil engineer actress has completed the shooting of ‘Suskera’ and is preparing herself for another movie titled ‘Dhanapati’.

The movie ‘Dhanapati’ is being produced by the team that produced superhit movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’. The movie featuring Khagendra Lamichhane in leading role with feature Surakshya opposite to Khagendra and will be directed by Dipendra K Khanal. Artist of the month, January 2017 is Rajesh Hamal month

Rajesh Hamal was chosen to be the artist of January, 2017. In the Twitter poll I posted in my account, Rajesh Hamal received 55% votes. The second place went to Rekha Thapa with just 19% votes. The third place winner Karishma Manandhar got 15% and the last was Anmol KC with 11% votes.

I will be preparing videos on the artist of the month – at least one video every week. That is the minimum limit but, there is no upper limit. So, I can make as much video on Rajesh Hamal as I want in January. By the end of the month I will start another poll to chose the artist of the next month.

I started creating videos on Rajesh Hamal today. The first video was about the Rajesh Hamal look alike “Fake and Real Rajesh Hamal” (video attached).

Historical fashion show, De’ Celebrity Runway 2016

Celebrity Fashion Show De’ Celebrity Runway 2016 – Walking Down the Memory Lane, was jointly organized by Punam Entertainment and Gauri Malla in collaboration with World Fashion Parade. The fashion event held on 29th December 2016 at Hotel Annapurna, Kathmandu marks on of the most diverse fashion show event in Nepal featuring three generations of artists of Nepali movie industry.

One of the most notable model on the ramp was the first actress of the Nepali movie industry, Bhuwan Chand. In addition to Bhuwan Chand first generation actresses like Chaitanya Devi and Basundhara Bhusal had also walked on the ramp. Dramatic demise of Bishnu Bhakta Phuyal, Yo My Love of Tito Satya

In a surprising tragic incident, the senior actor popularly known as ‘Yo My Love’ for his role in popular comedy serial ‘Tito Satya’ had died. The actor was performing in a theatre play at the time of his death. Mid-way in the play, he had suddenly died in the evening of January 3, 2017, Tuesday in Rastriya Naachghar, Jamal, Kathmandu.

The 80-years old actor is the second actor of ‘Tito Satya’ who has died in a month. Last month, another comedy actor popularly known as Ladalam, RP Bhattarai had died. They both have died of heart failure.
