Nepali movie ‘Bindaas’ is releasing on August 24, 2012. The movie directed by Raju Giri features Sushma Karki, Sushant Karki, Ashok Phuyal, and Roshni Ghimire in leading roles.
The movie features the cinematoraphy of Rajendra Sapkota, fight direction of Roshan Shrestha, music direction of Arjun Pokharel, choreography of Mahesh Godar, editing of Dirgha Khadka, and story / script /dialogue of Bhoj Raj Devkota.
Coupled with big expectations from extensive advertisements, hype, and big star casts "Maya’s Bar" was released in Kathmandu valley on July 27, 2012. In the theatres out of valley, the movie will be released on this Friday (August 3). The third directorial venture of Dinesh DC, "Maya’s Bar" is produced by Sunil Manadhar and features actors like Rajesh Hamal, Karishma Manandhar, Nisha Adhikari and Gajit Bista in leading roles.
Story:
Maya’s Bar is the story of Maya (Nisha Adhikari) and her family. Maya lives happily with her husband Gajit and a son, Bishal until they face a financial crisis. To cope with the financial problem Gajit joins fight club as a fighter and Maya joins a dance bar as a dancer. They both work for a company of Trilok Rana (played by Rajesh Hamal). But, both Gajit and Maya are not happy with their spouse’s profession. Gajit and Maya would occasionally express their respective dissatisfaction on Gajit’s work as a fighter and Maya’s work as a dancer. I wouldn’t like to ruin your movie viewing experiences by telling the story and problem that leads to the unexpected death of Maya (oops …).
The movie features the cinematography of Purushottam Pradhan, fight direction of N.B. Maharjan, music direction of Suresh Adhikari, and editing of Banish Shah.
The movie ‘Highway’ had created a big buzz and a hype among Nepali youths before its release. Probably, ‘Highway’ is the first movie successful in creating such a big buzz before it’s release. It sure is critically aclaimed and is the first Nepali movie to be featured in Berlin International Film Festival.

Crew Background
The strong point of the movie ‘Highway’ is that it contains most of the preferred Nepali actors of the Nepali film industry. Some of the actors in the movie had been very successful and are considered the gems of the Nepali film industry. Karma, Reecha Sharma and Binaya Shrestha are known by the audience from their last superhit movie ‘First Love’. Another successful movie ‘Loot‘ had featured to actors present in ‘Highway’ – actors Dayahang Rai (Gofle) and Saugat Malla (Hakku Kale).
The director, Deepak Rauniyar, is also a journalist and he had previously directed two short films ‘Pooja’ and ‘Chaukhat’. Both of his short film were appreciated by the audiences. The feature movie ‘Highway’ is his first directorial venture based on his experience of disruption of traffic by regular strikes (Nepal bandha).
After struggle in fixing the release date, ‘Malati Ko Bhatti’ was finally released in about 56 theatres all over Nepal. ‘Malati Ko Bhatti’ is the debut directorial venture of Ganesh Dev Pandey featuring actors/actresses Rekha Thapa, Jiwan Luitel, Nandita KC and Sunil Thapa in main roles.

The movie ‘Malati Ko Bhatti’ is the story of Aditya Sharma (Jiwan Luitel) frustrated with his life due to his unsuccessful love-marriage. Aditya’s wife, Sabitri (Nandita K C) is more fascinated towards parties, clubs, casino and gambling rather than her family. Aditya drinks a lot and becomes addicted to alcohol. He met Malati (Rekha Thapa) while visiting a small bar owned by her and known as Malati ko Bhatti. While visiting the Bhatti, Aditya and Malati got attracted towards each other and started a relationship.
One of the most awaited Nepali movies of this season, ‘Apabad’ was finally got released in Nepal on Friday, June 15, 2012. After the successful releases abroad, the directorial debut of Subash Koirala was finally released inside Nepal. The movie features Raj Ballav Koirala and Nisha Adhikari in a lead roles.
Story
Apabad is a story of Suyog who dreams to be a writer of a novel. Being a student of business, his father however wants him to start a job in a bank and start making good sum of money. One of his best friend and one-sided love, Sunanda, had the similar suggestion to him. But, he his desire to be a writer and making a career as a novel writer prevails and he decided to oppose his father’s dream of making him a banker. Suyog wanted to go to the UK to study but, he later found that the college he enrolled was one of the blacklisted colleges. The overwhelming frustration caused him to try suicide by jumping into a river. After he jumped into the river, he was washed to a bank where there aren’t any people in the nearby vicinity. Away from technology and the crowd, he was left to do whatever he likes. To know, what happen to Suyog, his suicide attempt, and the budding writer within him it is worthwhile to visit the theater and know first-hand.

A new Nepali movie ‘Dravya’ was released last Friday. The movie made on a story of few youths related to casino is directed by Markendey Dipbim Basnet and features Ashok Phuyal, Anoop Bikram Shah, Kalpana Shah, Biraj Bhatt, and Amit Pokhrel in leading roles.
Story:
Dravya is a story of Binod, Nisha, Paras and Bikram, and their relation to a casino. Binod, Nisha and Paras work in the casino and Paras is one of the regular customers in the casino. Life brings them to a situation in which they need of huge amount of money. Collecting that much money was pretty much impossible by doing good deeds. So, they plan to steal money of a regular casino customer, Khalid. Khalid, an Indian citizen visits Nepal just to lose his money at the casino and have fun with Nepali girls. After stealing the money of Khalid they found out that Khalid is the brother of a big don of India. I wouldn’t spoil your movie going experience by telling if Binod, Nisha, Paras and Bikram succeed in running away from the don and the police.

Released all over Nepal ‘The Last Kiss’ uses sex scenes and vulgar words to attract young people in the theater. The movie is produced by Yuvraj Khatri and directed by BB Phuyal and features Sovita Simkhada, Puskar Jung Thapa and Suresh Chaudhary in the leading roles. The censor board has granted adult certificate, not suitable for the viewers 16 years old or younger.
Story:
‘The Last Kiss’ has a suspense story. Movie starts with the death of a couple who had visited a forest for a romantic union. Another couple, Akash and Arya, went to the same forest to celebrate their first anniversary. A gang led by a character named Michael kills Akash but, their attempt to kill Arya was unsuccessful. The whole movie is about how Arya sought revenge from Michael and his gang. I don’t want to spoil the movie viewing experience by unveiling the real suspense of why Aakash was killed.

It was a bitter start – ‘Saayad’ was released on the ‘Nepal Bandha’ day. It is currently being screendd in various theaters inside Kathmandu valley and in a few parts outside Nepal. As already discussed on our pre-review review, ‘Saayad’ is a story about the youths of plus-two, their drug indulgence and how their life changed because of drugs. Story:
The movie ‘Saayad‘ is the story of two brothers Yodin (played by Samyam Puri) and Nirag (played by Sunil Rawal). After Yodin was born, their family had earned wealth and their life became more easier so Nirag considers Yodin a luck. Yodin’s crush, Sirish, was the sister of Nirag’s crush, Samridhi. Yodin’s best friend Ved (played by Wilson Bikram Rai) introduced Yodin to drugs. Yodin and Ved’s group started taking drugs because of the problems in the family and love lives.
