A teaser and the poster of the debut movie of actor Raj Ballav Koirala as a producer – ‘Raghav’ is released today. The movie is made under the banner of Raj Ballav Koirala Films in association with Ideas and Images, and Planet3films.
‘Raghav’ features Shibir Pokharel, Asmita Dhakal, Cait Barsel, Ashishma Nakarmi, Rocken Byanjankar etc. in main role. The story, screenplay and the direction of the movie is done by Bhupendra Bhattarai.
Nepali movie industry has entered the iTunes era. For the first time in the Nepali movie industry, the movie by Deepak Rauniyar, ‘Highway’ has been made available to purchase in Apple’s iTunes. The critically acclaimed movie can be purchased in iTunes by going to this link.

Actor Sabin Shrestha teased his Facebook friends by sharing his marriage photo. The marriage ceremony was held between the ‘Aadhi Bato’ actors Sabin Shrestha and actress Jenisha KC.
‘Aadhi Bato’ is a musical love story by director Shabir Shrestha. The movie also features Yash Kumar in lead role.
In our male dominated society, Bhai Tika and Bhai Puja are performed but, there is no mention of Didi Bahini Puja. Singer and actress Komal Oli has realized the injustice in the society and performed the sister puja on the occasion of Bhai Tika.
After the completion of the traditional Bhai Tika and Bhai Puja, Komal and her sister performed ‘Didi Bahini Puja’. The puja is a little diviation from the male-dominated tradition of Tihar. Although brothers offer tika to their Bhai Tika, the puja are exclusively done to the brothers by sisters.

After Dashain, Tihar is the second biggest festival in Nepal. One of the most colorful festivals of all time, Deepawali is celebrated by worshiping the goddess of wealth, Laxmi. Both male and female worship the goddess but women draw rangoli and other colorful arts on floor to invite the goddess in the house. The music video from an upcoming movie ‘Biteka Pal’ featuring Keki Adhikari and Abinash Gurung was recently released. The video was shot in Darjeeling, India.
The song is voiced by Babu Bogati and Prakriti Giri and choreographed by Shankar BC. In addition to Keki and Abinash, Babu Bogati and Akash Khawas are also featured in main roles in the movie. The movie directed by Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ is scheduled to release on Poush 26.
Actress Rekha Thapa is doing a guest role in ‘Damdar’ with actor Sabin Shrestha. The movie directed by Kamal Krishna will also introduce Shreeram Pudasaini in main role.
In ‘Damdar’ Rekha is featured as a patriotic ex-police officer who was laid-off. The movie produced by Chandra Gautam features action of Chandra Panta. The cinematographer of the movie is Saurabh Lama. The director Kamal Krishna has also written the script and composed the music of the movie.

Miss Nepal 2011, Malina Joshi, the Nepali representative to the Miss Asia Pacific World 2013 was selected one of the top 15 in the finale held in Korea on October 30. There were contestants from 50 different countries eyeing for the crown. Although Miss India Shristi Rana snatched the crown and Malina couldn’t win any runner-up titles, the selection in top 15 in itself is considered a great feat for a Nepali representative.
Other beauties in the top 15 list include Miss Australia, Miss Ukraine, Miss Vietnam, Miss India, Miss Nepal, Miss Philippines, Miss Russia, Miss Trinidad & Tobago, Miss Sweden, Miss Egypt, Miss Central Africa, Miss Kazakhstan, Miss Latvia, Miss Mozambique, and Miss Mongolia.

The maker of ‘Saayad‘ and ‘Hostel‘, Durgish Films has announced its third movie. The movie will feature the actors of both ‘Saayad’ – Samyam Puri and ‘Hostel’ – Anmol KC, Salon Basnet and Gaurav Pahadi in main roles. The movie will also feature actress Namrata Shrestha.
The inauguration of an upcoming movie ‘Lazza’ was held in the Ganesh mandir of Kamaladi on October 28. Producer Chhabi Raj Ojha and director Nawal Nepal inaugurated the movie by offering puja in the temple. Chhabi’s another movie ‘Loafer’ is releasing in theater on Mangsir 21.
Although the movie was inaugurated on Monday, the shooting will not start until after the Tihar festival. In the mean time the lead actor Aryan Sigdel is busy in his home production ‘November Rain’. The movie is the debut movie of Aryan’s opposite Shilpa Pokharel. Shilpa, a well known model in music videos, has taken a formal training on acting in preparation of the movie.

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa has won the best actress award in HTV Filmykhabar D Cine Award. Rekha was awarded the award for her role in her movie ‘Lanka’. The best actor award was awarded to Jiwan Luitel for his role in ‘Notebook’. In the best movie category, ‘Rhythm’ was awarded the best in the year.
In this year’s award, ‘Maya’s Bar’, ‘Rhythm’ and ‘Notebook’ bagged most of the awards.
