On November 10, 2017 four new Nepali movies have released in theatre. It is a very competitive release for some of the highly expected movies in the film industry. All single word named movies – ‘Meela’, ‘Tyandro’, ‘Sakash’ and ‘Romeo’ will sustain a damage because of the competition among each other. In terms of the star cast, none of the movie should be missed. ‘Mela’ has Salon Basnet, Amesh Bhandari and Ashishma Nakarmi; ‘Romeo’ has Oshima Banu, Nisha Adhikari and Melina Manandhar to watch for; ‘Tyandro’ features Dayahang Rai and is directed by Samten Bhutiya; ‘Sakash’ has Sushma Karki and Mahima Silwal with Wilson Bikram Rai.

The details of each of the movie are arranged according to the view count of the trailers in YouTube. When view count are considered to be determining factor, ‘Mela’ leads with more than 8 lakh views followed by ‘Romeo’ approaching 7 lakh and ‘Tyandro’ almost 6.5 lakh.

The movie was released on April 14, 2017 with two other movies. Although there was a huge expectation from the movie, the viewers were not happy by the movie. The fact that action star Nikhil Upreti teaming up with the top actress of the current time, Priyanka Karki had elevated the expectation among the viewers. It seems every actresses are producing movies these days. After Rekha Thapa, Jharana Thapa, Shilpa Pokharel, Richa Sharma, Namrata Shrestha, Nisha Adhikari, Deepa Shree Niraula and so on, another actress has decided to produce a movie – Ashishma Nakarmi. Ashishma is producing a Newari Language movie titled ‘Laakhey Bhaju’. The movie was announced in a program held in Kathmandu.
The movie to be made on the popular dance in Newar community – Lakhe dance. The movie is made on the story of a love story of a Lakhe dancer. Ashishma will be the lead actress in the movie. With Ashishma, Sohit Manandhar, Madandas Shrestha, Nagina Joshi and Krishna Bhakta Maharjan will be the main actors. The movie is presented by Ashishma and is produced jointly by Narendra Maharjan, Gopal Kaji Kayastha, Chij Kumar Shrestha, Sundar Rajbhandari and Deepak Shrestha.
This week, on August 11, 2017, a new movie of Nikhil and Saugat is released in theatre, ‘Sarakshan’. The movie directed by Purnendu Jha, is an action movie shot in Terai’s Parsa and it’s neighbouring districts. The movie made on the politics in the villages and cities in Terai region features some of the best known actors in the Nepali film industry. There were no Nepali movie release last week, so ‘Sanrakshan’ enjoys the solo release and no competition advantage. In addition to that, the star cast in the movie with Nikhil and Saugat in leading role are another attraction towards the movie for a wide range of movie goers.
The movie features the Madhesh unrest, crime in Terai, police actions and other social aspects of Terai. In the movie, both Nikhil Upreti and Saugat Malla are featured as police officers.

The world record holding movie – directed by the youngest director in the world, Saugat Bista, ‘Love You Baba’ is a story of a father and a daughter. The movie is a family drama featuring the director’s father and his elder sister in main roles.
Read the news about Saugat Bista being awarded the Guinness World Record certificate. The movie was released in December of 2014. The movie was also screened at the Shinokubo Film Festival in Japan in 2015. The actress Sangam Bista was awarded the best child artist at the NEFTA Film Award 2015. The Nepali movie ‘Tori Lahure’ is a presenation of Haridham Dilip Films by Dil Kumar Tamang. The movie features the choreography of Ghambir Bista, action of Shankar Maharjan, music of Santosh Raaj and Ganesh Chaudhary, editing of Surendra Poudel, cinematography of Niraj Kandel, script of Krishna Acharya. The movie also marks the debut of the well known fight-director NB Maharjan as a full director of a feature movie.

In the Nepali film award organized by Gopi Krishna Movies, the ‘Classic’ actors Namrata Shrestha and Aryan Sigdel were chosen the best actors. But, the winner of the best movie award was ‘Pashupati Prasad’. The Best director award went to Dinesh Raut, the director of ‘Classic’. The editor of ‘Classic’ Surendra Poudel also won the Best Editor award.

The film award being distributed by Gopi Krishna Movies, NFDC National Film Award 2016 nomination was released in a program held in Kathmandu. The Award ceremony will be held in Ashoj. It’s interesting two movies released on the same day – ‘Premgeet’ and ‘Classic’ were nominated in the most number of awards – 11 categories each. ‘Pashupati Prasad’ and ‘Woda Number 6’ each were nominated in 8 different categories and ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi’ was nominated in 7 categories.

Two new Nepali movies are releasing in theaters in Nepal today, on May 20, 2016 – ‘Homework’ and ‘Buddha Born in Nepal’. The movie about Buddha, is a presentation of actor Ramit Dhungana and another movie ‘Homework’ is a Gopi Krishna movies presentation.

The movie made to give a message that Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal is made to create awareness on the fact. The movie written and directed by Gyanendra Deuja features the producer Ramit Dhungana with Ashishma Nakarmi, Mithila Sharma, Nir Shah, Manita Lama and Amit Dhungana in main roles.

A new movie titled ‘Sanrakshan’ is going to feature actors Nikhil Upreti and Saugat Malla as police officers. The movie also features Ashishma Nakarmi and Malina Joshi in leading roles. The movie is being directed by Punendra Kumar Jha. Pradeep Uday, Narendra Maharjan, Sweta Shah and Nandu Shreevastav have invested in the movie.
The movie features the cinematography of Purushottam Pradhan, editing of Nimesh Shrestha, action of Himal KC, choreography of Basanta Sapkota and the music of Prabesh Mallik. Other main actors in the movie are Ramesh Ranjan Jha, Pramod Agrahari, Sushanta Shrestha, Nandu Shreevastav and Pawan Mhato.
Actress Ashishma Nakarmi has headed towards Europe for the charity shows of her upcoming movie ‘Adhakatti’. With Ashisma singers Astha Raut and Pramod Kharel are also flying together to Belgium.

Before going to the international charity shows, one charity show of the movie was held on June 16 in Kumari theater in Kathmandu.
The release date of movie ‘Adhakatti’, is scheduled for May 22, 2015, the birthday of the producer Pradeep K Uday. The movie was announced on Uday’s birthday in 2013 and it is releasing on the his birthday after two years.
‘Adhakatti’ is the debut direction of Kantipur journalist Subrat Acharya featuring Ashishma Nakarmi, Wilson Bikram Rai, Rista Basnet, Gaurav Pahadi, and Pradeep Bastola. The movie will also feature actress Namrata Shrestha and Gajit Bista in an item dance titled ‘Namrata..’ The shooting of the movie was delayed a while and went to floor after a year of its announcement. It is releasing a year after the start of the shooting.
The sequel of the popular film ‘Bato Muniko Phool’ is going to feature a lot of well known actors in the Nepali film industry. The male artists to be featured in the film are Arpan Thapa, Dilip Rayamajhi, and Baboo Bogati. It seems the actor Yash Kumar, of the first part will be missing in the sequel. The actresses to be featured in the film are Richa Sharma, Reema Bishwokarma, and Ashishma Nakarmi. The supporting actors are Subhadra Adhikari, Tika Pahadi and Ganesh Upreti.
In addition to the actors mentioned, actor Rajesh Hamal will also be featured in cameo role, like the one in the first sequel. There is no mention of actress Rekha Thapa who was one of the actors in the original movie.

Made on the story of Bhupendra Bhattarai / Prabin Chandra Subedi / Shibir Pokharel features the screenplay of the director Bhupendra. The film is jointly produceed by Black Hourse Picture and Raj Ballav Koirala Films.
