Film artists lost to advertisement professionals in football

A friendly football match, Bhakundo Bhidanta, was held between the film artists and advertisement professionals held in Dasarath Stadium on Saturday May 18, 2013. The film artists lost to the advertisement professionals by 4 to 2 goals.

The artists who participated in the match include actors , Jiwan Luitel, Jitu Nepal, Kiran KC, Hari Bamsha Acharya and actresses Jharana Thapa, Binita Baral, Garima Pant, Poojana Pradhan, Deepa Shree Niraula, Sushma Karki, Nita Dhungana etc. The football match of the artists who couldn’t control the ball was funny and full of enjoyment. Akash Khawas had scored two goals for the artists.

Hari Bamsha Acharya to open a childcare center in the name of his late wife

To remember his wife Meera Acharya who died last year, comedy actor Hari Bansha Acharya has announced a child care center to be opened in his ancestral property in Sankhu, Daltar.

Meera Acharya died on Baisakh 7, 2068 because of cancer. On the 1st year of her death, Hari Bamsha announced ‘Meera Child Care Center’ to be constructed on Hari Bamsha’s 2 Ropani land. The center is going to be constructed by Maha Sanchar in collaboration with Child Reach. The c
enter will serve five villages in and around Sankhu area.

Chhadke – a new experiment in combating poster plagiarism

A graphic designer, Ananda Maharjan, has won the Open Movie Poster Competition for a Nepali Cinema "Chhadke".

The movie producers have told that the winning poster will be used in the official promotion of ‘Chhadke‘. It is told that Ananda will also be involved in the design of other promotional materials.

In a protest against corruption, high profile protesters like Bhagawati Kafle, Rameshore Khanal, MaHa jodi (Hari Bansha Acharya, Madan Krishna Shrestha), Rabindra Mishra, and others gathered in front of the office of The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), wearing the T-shirt with the message "Bhrasthachari laai kira paros" (Let the corrupt rot).

Mira Acharya, Hari Bamsha Acharya's wife died

Mira Acharya, a radio anchor of Radio Nepal and wife of renowned comedian Hari Bansha Acharya has died at the age of 46.

After a heart attack on Sunday (April 17) Mira was admitted to the hospital for treatment. She didn’t recovered and was put in a ventilator on Monday. Hari Bamsha wanted her to die after their son Trilok returned from US on Wednesday morning.

Mira and Hari Bamsha have two sons Trilok Achary and Mohit Bamsha Acharya. Mohit is going to act in leading role in his debut movie "Maya ko Bari".

Our heartfelt condolence to the the family of Hari Bansha Acharya and wish the soul of Mira rest
in peace.

Madan Krishna and Hari Bamsha against animal sacrifice

The issue of animal sacrifice in Gadhimai mela is getting more attention as the mela date (Nov 22) is coming closer. First, animal right groups and the Buddha boy raised concern on half-a-million animals being killed in the mela. Now, others are following the quest to stop the inhuman act in the name of God.

The most popular comedians and leaders in social awareness, MaHa-duo (Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya), have come forward to back the protest. They were talking in a program organized by an animal rights group on November 13, in Patan, Lalitpur.

Hari Bamsha talked about a show in Chitawan National Park in which live buffaloes and goats were fed to wild tigers. The show was stopped when one of the tourists who saw the show wrote the government against it. The tourist asked the government to place the leaders in place of the goats and buffaloes for allowing a business to run a cruel show.

Hari Bansha Acharya, one of the MaHa-duo, was born to Homanjaya Acharya and Ganesh Kumari on 27th Kartik 2014 BS (9th October 1958) in Gairidhara, Kathmandu. In 2040 BS he married Meera Acharya with whom he has two sons, Trilok Acharya and Mohit Acharya.

He started his entertainment career with a performance in Radio Nepal with Hari Prasad Rimal and Jitendra Mahat Avilashi in 2031 BS. He joined Rastriya Naach Ghar, a theater in Kathmandu, in 2032. His solo performance in the Gaijatra Mahotsav of 2034 BS was the first successful event before partnering with Madan Krishna Shrestha. Hari Bamsha is an expert in caricature and his combination with Madan Krishna Shrestha has been very successful in Nepali comedy for the last three decades.  Continue reading
