About ‘Shabda’

A presentation of Om Om Shree Bajrayan Picture, the movie is presented by Bishnu Kumar Thebe and is produced by Tsering Dorjee Lama. The movie directed by Santosh Shiwakoti features the music of Rajan Raj Shiwakoti and Suresh Gaire. VFX by Suraj Maharjan, mixing by Mukesh Shah.

The movie features the background music of Pramod Pariyar, editing by Banish Shah and Milan Shrestha. Action directed by NB Maharjan, choreography by Pradeep Shrestha, cinematography by Shiva Dhakal. Lyrics by Dr Krishan Hari Baral and Rajan Raj Siwakoti, voice in songs by Rajan Raj Shiwakoti, Swaroop Raj Acharya, Dipak Limbu, and Milan Amatya.

The the movie featuring actors Saugat Malla, Kamali Waiba, Anubhav Regmi, Roy Deep Shrestha, Arjun Gurung, Anoj, Oshin Bhattrai etc. was released in January of 2017. (read the release news.) The movie wasn’t much successful at the time of release. The movie is shot in beautiful locations of Siklesh of Kaski and is about the love and relationship with the children.

Dashain of Milan Amatya this year will be different … why did she divorce?

The marriage of a well known Nepali singer, Milan Amatya, has ended in the court. The singer from India who married a Nepali businessman, Mention Amatya, has finally ended their 6-years-old marriage in the Kathmandu district court. There are conflicting reports on the reason behind Milan’s divorce.

Last year, Milan had shared a selfie (or is it welfie?) with her husband and Amatya family members after Dashain Tika. This year, a few days before Dashain, they are officially separated. Dashain 2017 will not see Mention in the same frame of Milan. A video report on why:

Who is Milan Amatya?

Singer Milan Amatya was born in Assam, India. In Assam, she was known as Milan Newar. Brought up in a family of music and art, she had started singing in a young age. Milan had been a singer for about a decade before she decided to come to Nepal. She had given voices to songs in Assamese, Hindi and Rajasthani languages. Milan’s younger sister was married and living Dharan. She came to Nepal to record some Nepali songs. At that time, her sister’s family had helped her to meet Mention for marriage.

Happy Dashain 2017

The biggest festival of Nepal, Dashain, has started on September 21, 2017. The first day of Dashain, Ghatasthapana is celebrated by Nepali all over the world. The 10-days worship of Goddess Durga has started in various temples and at homes in Nepal.

Let me go through the the major festive days of Dashain:

Day 1 – Ghatasthapana

The first day of Dashain starts with placing a water pot (Kalash) that symbolizes goddess Durga. The Kalash is filled with holy water and is covered with cow dung with some barley seeds added to it.

On the day, barley seeds are used to plant Jamara (wheatgrass). The plantation is done according to Hindu rituals and worshiping. Astrologers determine a specefic auspicious time to perform the ritual. It is believed that the goddess resides in the vessel (Kalash) during navratri.

The room where the ritual is performed is known as the Dashain Ghar where outsiders and women are not allowed, traditionally. In the past, it was a custom of a male family member, usually the head of the house, to worships the Kalash twice every day, once in the morning and then in the evening. But, these days, the discrimination has been ended and women are also allowed to perform the puja of the woman goddess, Durga. The Jamara plantation is kept in dark and holy water is offered every day to the seeds. By the tenth day the seed will grown to five to six inches long. The grass kept in total dark are yellow and is considered a sacred grass used with Tika on the 10th day of the festival.

33 rd birthday of Garima Panta, special celebration with her husband (photos)

This year, it is the second birthday after Garima Panta married Hari Thapaliya in 2016. After the marriage, the couple have shared photos of themselves and they don’t seem to have any close friends. The 33rd birthday celebration of Garima was held in Belgium. According to the status and photos shared by Garima, it was a small private ceremony.

In one of the statuses Garima has written “The life was going on while understanding it and the world. But, when I met you I have understood the life and the world in a better manner. I wish I could spend thousands of the lives with you. That is all I want.” (Rough English translation of the Nepali status in Instagram).

Who is Garima Panta?

The actress of ‘Jhola’, Garima raised in the fame and popularity after the success of the movie. But, after the movie, she left the film industry and the country to marry a NRN, Hari Thapaliya in Belgium. The couple are running a restaurant in the European country. After Jhola, another movie of Garima Panta, ‘Teen Ghumti’ had also received positive feedback from the viewers.

Neeta’s 25 birthday announcement, production house

On the occasion of her 25th birthday, actress Neeta Dhungana has annouced a production house. On September 14, Neeta organized a birthday party and announced ‘Neeta Film Production’. Talking in the event she told, “In the last few years, the movies I worked failed to impress the viewers. I have decided to produce my own movies and give viewers the films they want. I am looking for a good script and the director. If everything goes as planned, I will start working in the first movie in six months.

Many Nepali actresses have produced their own movies but, only a few actress have been successful as a producer. Most of the actresses who have been successful had their husbands backing them up. For example, Rekha Thapa was successful because of Chhabi Raj Ojha. After she divorced Chhabi, the movies she has produced haven’t been as successful as before. But, Rekha is considered one of the most successful producers in the Nepali film industry. Similarly, actress Jharana Thapa had also been successful producer. Jharana’s husband Sunil Kumar Thapa was the force behind her production. Despite of the support of her producer husband, actress Karishma Manandhar has failed in her production ventures. Now, actress Shilpa is producing movies with the help of Chhabi Raj Ojha. Actress Pooja Sharma is producing movies with the help of Sudarshan Thapa and Deepa Shree Niraula is producing movies with Deepak Raj Giri.

Ramesh Upreti movie, Aishwarya trailer review

The teaser and first look posters of the movie by well known actor Ramesh Upreti, ‘Aishwarya’ has received positive reviews. The movie features Ramesh Upreti, Deepika Prasain and Prashanta Tamrakar in leading roles.

The actor and producer Ramesh Upreti had told that he has used some new experiments in the movie. In addition to the three leading actors, the movie also features Keki Adhikari, Nirmal Sharma and Arjun Sharma. The script is written by the director Diwakar Bhattarai.

Pradeep Khadka bodyguards show-off, wannabe Anmol KC?

Anmol KC made news when he appeared with two bodyguards when he visited film-halls during the release of his movie ‘Dreams’. It is not clear if the extra security was necessary or was only a publicity stunt. One thing is for sure, other actors are also following Anmol KC for the sake of publicity.

Being covered by bodyguards in film halls makes sense. It is not easy for the artists to deal with the crowd. That was seen during the release of ‘A Mero Hajur 2’. The six bodyguards had hard time protecting the actors Salinman Baniya, Samragyee RL Shah and Salon Basnet.

Rekha Thapa, Aryan Sigdel starrer Rudra Priya trailer

After 8 years, actress Rekha Thapa and Aryan Sigdel have teamed up to be featured together in upcoming movie ‘Rudra Priya’. The movie director by Sudeep Bhupal Singh is produced by Ramesh MK Poudel as an executive producer. Rekha Thapa’s mother Saraswoti Thapa is named the producer of the movie.

Like all her previous movies, the upcoming movie is also told to be female-oriented movie. It features love, romance, and action. Before the trailer, a song of the movie ‘Chirbir Chirbir Chachari …’ was released. The song featuring the voice of the muisc of Rajan Ishan was liked by the viewers.

Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu 2 announced, Pooja and Paul in lead roles

It is supposed to be the third sequel of ‘Prem Geet’ although it is named ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu 2’. The sequel of hit film ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu’ was announced on the birthday of the director Sudarshan Thapa, held on Wednesday. In addition to the sequel he also announced another unnamed movie to be produced after the movie.

In the sequel, the artists Pooja Sharma, Paul Shah and Salon Basnet will be repeated in the leading role. During the announcement Sudarshan told, that the movie is being made on the demand of the viewers. The script of the movie is being written by Sudarshan Thapa in association with Samipya Raj Timilsina.

After the completion of the shooting of the sequel, the team of Sudarshan will start the shooting of another movie. The star cast of both the movies will be the same – Pooja, Paul and Salon. The next movie will be a dance-themed movie.

Thapa told that the shooting of ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu 2’ will start in Magh. The untitled movie will start after the completion of the sequel. Both the movies are scheduled to released in the next year.

Highly awaited movie ‘2 Rupaiyan’ was the sole release on Friday, September 8, 2017. The movie known for the song ‘Kutuma Kutu’ is expected to be liked by the viewers. The movie is released at the time last week’s release ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ is doing a good business in theatre.

About ‘2 Rupaiyan’

The movie made on G21 Pictures and Black Horse Pictures banners is produced jointly by Asif Shah and Nischal Basnet. Directed by Asif Shah, the movie feature two producers in leading roles. In addition to the producers and director it also features Buddhi Tamang, Rabindra Jha, Rajan Ishan, Menuka Pradhan and Pratik Raj Neupane. Nischal’s wife, actress Swastima Khadka is featured in the well received song ‘Kutuma Kutu’.

The movie is made on a story of a relatively worthless currency note of Rs. 2 in the transaction of a huge sum of currency. The crime story features action and comedy as the selling point.

Dhamala wife, mother of two kids to debut as an actress, Anurag annouced

The wife of well known journalist, Rishi Dhamala, has decided to produce a movie. In a program held in Kathmandu, a new movie named ‘Anurag’ was announced. In the movie, the producer, Aliza Gautam will also be the lead actress.

It is a most common trend of the Nepali film industry – actors invest in the movie they are featured in leading role. As the movies are made only for themselves, the directors and other artists don’t give their best. Because of the easy money, the technician’s also don’t provide the optimum amount of the effort in making the movie. Because of these facts, most of the movies produced by the lead actors in the movies are not successful. The latest such example is ‘Rudra’. The movie produced by the actor Bishow Gautam was not successful despite of Nikhil Upreti in negative role – the first in his acting career.

There are a lot of example of films made just to fulfil their desire to be featured in movies. The movie by Aliza Gautam sounds like those movies. She has asked her father to invest in the movie under the banner registered under her daughter’s name.

In the love story movie, a new actor Deepak Ghimire opposite to Aliza. Other actors in the movie include Saroj Khanal, Rupa Rana and Nirmal Sharma.

Chhakka Panja 2 Trailer review, will it be as successful as Chhakka Panja?

One of the most awaited movie of the year, ‘Chhakka Panja 2’ has released the first trailer. The trailer was released as per the schedule recommended by an astrologer. The astrologer, Bushesh Thapa, had told the producers to release the trailer at 6:05 and 2 seconds for the best response.

The movie made on comedy theme is the fourth movie after the hat trick in successful comedy movies by the comedy duo- Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula. The movie scheduled to release on the Fulpati of Dashain (Ashoj 11) features a lot of well known actors in it. The movie team had released two songs in the past – both of which were very successful in terms of viewership. They had also gone through bitter controversies.

About ‘Chhakka Panja 2’

The movie features Deepak Raj Giri, Priyanka Karki, Kedar Ghimire, Jitu Nepal, Shiva Hari Poudel, Buddhi Tamang, Barsha Raut, Sworoop Purush Dhakal, Swastima Khadka, Gaurav Pahadi and others. Although the movie name is the sequel of the super-hit movie ‘Chhakka Panja’, the story is told to be different from the previous one.
