In the Top Model competition of Miss World, Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada was one of the top 32. But, she couldn’t win the title. Although Shrinkhala couldn’t win any title, that is ok because, she wasn’t aiming to win the title in the first place. The category is not an strong category for an intelligent nerd. Being in top 32 in a purely modelling category is a huge boost in her capability out of her nerdy-realm.

This is crazy – unheard of – record breaking video of a Nepali beauty queen that got 700,000 views in a day. Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada released the introduction video in her own channel and it got 100s of thousands of views instantly. Watch the following video and you will say, “Yes, it deserves the attention.”:
Shrinkhala wrote a long post on how she prepared for the video, how she wrote the script and how the team worked on it to make it that good. The status is a clear indication that she also deserves the Miss World title this year. I believe, no other contestants have prepared themselves this much for the title.

Talking about the history – the closest Nepal has ever reached to the Miss World crown was in 2013. Miss Nepal Ishani Shrestha was one of the Top 10 that year. She had also won the Beauty with the Purpose title.
Shrinkhala is a well rounded personality – she has the charisma to outshine Ishani. Will, Shrinkhala Khatiwada create history for Nepal this year?
There is a high chance that Shrinkhala Khatiwada, Miss Nepal 2018, might be able to bring home the Miss World crown. That is because, she is the most deserving candidate so far. There were capable contestants before. But, Shrinkhala seems to be better than all of them because of her confidence, intelligence and beauty.

The main attraction of the celebration is preparing beautiful rangoli and cooking good foods. Rangoli is the art imported from India. It is similar to our own Mandala art. Nepali celebrities make good rangoli and share them in their social media. I have collected some photos of the actresses showing their talent.

I am starting a series of talk about the 2007 (2050-51) democratic movement led by the King Tribhuvan. It was an unique movement that was led by the ruler himself.
A foreigner woman was at the palace at that time. Erika Leuchtag had seen Tribhuvan’s involvement in the protest against the rulers. She had written a book on her stay in the royal palace and her acquaints with the King. I am presenting the information given in the book as a weekly series. The series is retelling of the information Erika had told in the book in Nepali language. It is not a translation so, I will be omitting the things that aren’t of value to my viewers.
The first part of the series will premier at Friday – November 9, 2018 – 12:00 AM ET. The first part is how Erika got the invitation and what was the response of her mother and her friends about going to Nepal.
After I recorded the first part, I came to know that Erika was a physiotherapist. I will give this detail in the second part. I haven’t done second part or any other parts yet. I am writing the script as I read through the book.
Nepali Movie – Dhanapati Starring – Khagendra Lamichhane, Surakshya Panta etc. Director – Dipendra K Khanal
Another great movie of Khagendra Lamichhane, ‘Dhanapati’ is released online for the Tihar festival. The movie is about the life of lower middle class couple and their trouble. The film is a presentation of Tukee Arts in association with Dipendra K Khanal Production. The film was released in theatre on Ashar 23 of this year (July 7, 2018). Khanal had previously directed and produced superhit film ‘Pashupati Prasad’.
This is a 45 minutes long video – featuring an address by a political leader some 32 years ago. At that time, audio was distributed in audio cassettes. This audio was so popular among the people that the manufacturer couldn’t meet the demand. Some cassettes were also sold in black market.
The political leader was Padma Ratna Tuladhar, the first major politician who declared that the single party Panchayat system of that time was not suitable for the country of the people in the parliament at that time. The election and the political movement led to the people’s uprising of 2046 BS. That was three years after the address of Padma Ratna.
Padma Ratna Tuladhar died today (on November 4, 2018). In memory of the great leader, I have shared the 3-decade old political address of the leader. The address gives a glimpse of what the situation of Nepal was:
A noted linguistic and writer, Dr. Taranath Sharma has told that the mother of King Birendra and ex-King Gyanendra was different. Birendra’s mother was then-crown princess Indra Rajyalaxmi Shah. According to the historical documents, the princess gave birth to six children – three sons and three daughters.
Indra Rajyalaxmi died in a mysterious circumstances on September 4, 1950. According to the official website of the first maternity hospital, Prasuti Griha, the princess had died because of the complications caused by the birth of her last child, Dhirendra Shah. The director of Nepali movie ‘Aishwarya’, Deewakar Bhattarai, has married the actress of the film, Deepika Prasain. The director had introduced the actress in the film industry in the movie and they had started dating while the film was being shot. Now, Deewakar and Deepika have confirmed the relationship and have told that they have performed an official engagement ceremony with the friends and families of both parties.
In an interview, Deepika has also told that they had also married in the court during the shooting of ‘Aishwarya’ and kept it a secret. Deepak and Deepika are also planning to perform a traditional marriage ceremony in the future. For now, they are in a Thailand tour – a honeymoon tour. It sure is a strange relationship – with unique 3-step marriage

Deepika debuted in ‘Aishwarya’ and her second film, ‘Chhakka Panja 3’ has also been successful. The director Diwakar Bhattarai is also known to be a well known director. He was the assistant director of ‘Dreams’, the debut film of Bhuwan KC as a director. He has also directed another Bhuwan KC film, featuring Anmol KC in lead role, ‘Captain’. The movie is yet to release and is expected to be a successful movie.
It seems both Deepika and Diwakar are going to rule the Nepali film industry in the future.

The newly-married couple of Rupa Thapa Magar met with an accident while going home from Rupa’s parental home. They were returning home after their first visit of Rupa’s parental home after marriage. The tragic event that happened after 11 days of the marriage took the life of Rupa Thapa and her husband Mahesh Pun is struggling in life-threatning condition in the hospital.

Rupa Thapa had acted in a Magar film titled ‘Larfu’ (Pachayuri) and was also a radio jockey in various FM stations in Palpa.
Rupa and Mahesh were returning home from Palpa to Gulmi in a scooter. The scooter Lu 37 Pa 3090 crashed with a car (SUV) number Lu 1 Cha 7256 coming from opposite direction at Myalunga of Syanjga. The couple were seriously injured in the accident and were rushed to the local hospital – Lumbini Medical College Hospital in Palpa. Rupa was pronounced dead and Mahesh is being treated in the hospital.
The video featuring the details of the scandal between Paras Shah and Ram Krishna Dhakal has gained an unprecedented viewership in YouTube. The video attracted a lot of negative comments. But, those who liked the video made it popular without commenting.

The MahaNayak, Rajesh Hamal, delays the Dashain Tika by a day because his mother died on the Vijaya Dashami day. He remembers his mothers, performs Shradha puja and mourns on the 10th day of the festival. While all others enjoy and celebrate, Hamal doesn’t celebrate because, his mother suffered from depression.
He didn’t know his mother was depressed when she fell ill after the untimely death of his father. Hamal’s father Chura Bahadur Hamal was the ambassador of Pakistan. On the day he submitted his appointment letter, Hamal died of heart attack. After the sad incident, his wife went into a long mourning. She didn’t recover after that. Rajesh Hamal remembers, his mother going through tough time and smoking a lot.
At that time, the family members didn’t know that she could have been cured by medical doctors. Later Hamal realized it and told it was their lack of knowledge he lost his mother (watch the following video to see Hamal speak about the incident).
Rajesh Hamal’s parents were love birds who fell in love while travelling in a train in India. That was a very long time ago. They were deeply in love for each other for as long as they lived.
