Director Shiva Regmi died on December 9

He died at 5:30 AM on December 9, 2013 at the Bayodha Hospital in Kalanki, Kathmandu. We have prepared a life story video of Shiva Regmi to pay tribute to his contribution to nepali entertainment industry.:

On December 7, the doctors had given hopes and predicted him to die within hours. The condition improved and he lived in ventilator for a couple of days before giving up on life.

Shiva Regmi was air lifted from Chitwan when his condition worsened. Both of his kidneys had failed and the medical conditions didn’t allowed him to perform the kidney transplant operation. His brother was willing to donate his kidney but, the donation operation never occurred.

Loafer – Movie Review

Nepali movie ‘Loafer’ was released on December 6, 2013 in theaters all over Nepal. The movie could manage to create a good hype in media because the producer Chhabi Raj Ojha. Chhabi, who had been continuously working with Rekha Thapa for the last decade, had replaced Rekha with a new actress Rajani KC in ‘Loafer’. In addition to that, the movie is also the first movie of Chhabi Raj Ojha, that is especially targeted to multiplex audiences. The movie directed by Aditya Bikram Lamsal features artists Aryan Sigdel, Dayahang Rai, Rajani KC, and Kamal Mani Nepal in leading roles.

Story:

‘Loafer’ is a story of Bhanta played by Dayahang Rai. Â BhantaÂ joins two friends and one driver drinking wine in a bar. The party went on for the the whole night. In the next morning, they found an unconscious girl in their car. A news that the the girl, who happened to be the daughter of a Minister, kidnaped by a gang was published in every major newspapers.

Raj Ballav’s Raghav, theatrical trailer released

Actor Raj Ballav Koirala is also debuting in Nepali film industry with a movie ‘Raghav’. The trailer of the movie was released in internet on December 5.

The movie expected to be released in March of 2014 features Shibir Pokharel, Asmita Dhakal, Cait Brasel, Ashishma Nakarmi, Rocken Byanjankar and others in main roles. The movie is written and directed by Bhupendra Bhattarai. According to the trailer, the movie is made on the story of foreign bound Nepali youths and their love lives.

Shiva Regmi in serious condition at the hospital

UPDATE:

Improvement – Now, Shiva Regmi is in stable condition. When the doctors predicted Shiva not to live more than an hour at 10 AM, film artists and his relatives were asked to gather in the hospital. But, the situation improved and now he is in stable condition.

Film artists and well wishers are gathering at the hospital. Friends and family members are also arriving from Chitwan.

In 2012 we had written a personal profile of Shiva Regmi – to mark his birthday.

For the last ten months, both of Regmi’s kidneys have failed. The doctors are waiting for his condition to improve before kidney transplant can be done.

According to doctors attending director Shiva Regmi at the Bayodha Hospital in Kalanki, he is struggling for the life.

Shiva Regmi was air lifted to Kathmandu when his condition worsened while being treated in Chitwan Medical College Hospital. Both of Regmi’s kidneys had failed and he was being prepared for kidney transplant at the hospital in New Delhi, India.

Producer Chhabi Raj Ojha is going to introduce a new actress – Shilpa Pokhrel in his upcoming movie ‘Lazza’. Chhabi announced the new movie with the announcement of the release of ‘Loafer’.

‘Lazza’ is going to feature Aryan Sigdel, Mithila Sharma, Kiran KC, Hiuwala Gautam and Shilpa Pokhrel. The movie is being directed by Nawal Nepal, known for directing Kalyan Ghimire’s ‘Shreeman’ and ‘Mahasush’.

Well known producer Chhabi Raj Ojha is releasing his second movie ‘Loafer’ made under his banner Chhabiraj Films on December 6. In a press meet organized in Kathmandu, the actors and directors of the movie introduced their characters and told that the movie content is very good.

‘Loafer’ features Aryan Sigdel, Dayahang Rai, Kamalmani Nepal, Rajani KC etc. in leading roles. After debuting Rekha Thapa in movies, Chhabi had been consistently featuring her in his movies. ‘Loafer’ is the first movie Rekha is absent. He is introducing a new actress, Rajani KC and the lead actor Aryan is also told not to be in good terms with Rekha.

Actress Binita Baral participated in a rally organized to raise voice against the use of harmful pesticides in agriculture. The ‘Harmful Pesticide Free Week’ is organized by the Agricultre Minsitry of the Government of Nepal and runs from Mangsir 18 to 25 (December 3 to 10). The awareness campaign tries to create awareness to the consumers about the harmful effects of pesticides in agriculture.

In a facebook post, Binita said, we should go organic and stop using pesticides in agriculture. She adds,"Pesticides are positions not medicine." She says, we should raise our voice against the poisionous substance and live a healthy life.

Two of Namrata’s movies releasing on Valentine Day

The Valentine Day is the most attractive time to release a love story movie. Actress Namrata Shrestha‘s most awaited movies ‘Megha’ and ‘November Rain’ are scheduled to release on the February 14 of 2014. Although ‘Megha’ was previously scheduled to release on January 31, now it is re-scheduled for the Valentine Day.

Releasing two movies of the same actress might not be a good business sense to either of the producers. That would cause in the division of viewership between the two movies.

Binita Baral to be featured in Telling a Tale: Kitchen Dramas, starting Dec 6

Actress Binita Baral is doing a play running on December 6, 7 and 8th in Theater Village, Lazimpat. The play by One World Theater is titled "Telling a Tale: Kitchen Dramas". The paly is about personal stories by Nepali girls and women in funny and serious way.

The play is based on the narratives edited by Archana Thapa. The play is adapted and directed by Deborah Merola. The play features actors Binita Baral and Devya Dev. Binita says that the she is enjoying the theater experience.

Three music videos of upcoming of upcoming movie ‘Magha’ featuring Namrata Shrestha, Raymon Das Shrestha and Siddhartha Koirala, filmed on the music and the lyrics of late Gopal Yonjan were recently released. The video choreographed by Kamal Rai, ‘Mero Joban Laijau’, ‘Yeti Chokho” and ‘Kali Pani Dekhe …’ are popular songs among Nepali music lovers.
