Komal Oli decided to remain unmarried throughout her life?

According to the latest Teej song of Komal Oli, she has no interest to get married. But, the lyrics of the song is not written by herself but another singer and musician, Pashupati Sharma. Songs are songs – they don’t relate to one’s life. But, in the case of Komal Oli, it has turned out to be true.

Last year, Komal Oli sang – “This is the last time I will be searching for a husband.” In the same song, the lyricist Pashupati Sharma suggested her to join politics and be a politician. It seems, she has followed his advice and joined Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). It was not only joining the party, she resigned from the Radio Nepal job to be a full time politician. The party also responded by electing Oli the Central Committee Member of the party. Now, after being a politician, the song says – “I will live and die for my country. I have no interest in getting married.

Prem Geet 2, Trailer review, Will Prem live for Geet or die for Geet?

The movie ‘Prem Geet 2’ is one of the two sequels of superhit movie ‘Prem Geet’. The movie repeats the lead actor Pradeep Khadka and also features the producer, Santosh Sen, as one of the actors. The movie introduces new actress Aslesha Thakuri in the film industry.

A program was held in Kathmandu to release the trailer of the movie. In the program the producer Santosh Sen, actors Pradeep Khadka and Aslesha Thakuri and the director Ram Sharan Pathaka answered the questions asked by the journalists.

Timi Sanga, Trailer Review of Nepali movie

The trailer of the debut movie of actor Shishir JB Rana, as a director, has been released. The main attraction of the movie are Samragyee RL Shah and Najir Hussien. A new entry in the Nepali film industry, Aakash Shrestha, is also a promising actor. Akash Shrestha had debuted in Nepali movie industry in ‘Ma Ta Timrai Hoon’. Sunil BK is a new introduction in the movie.

Trailer analysis

The trailer shows three characters played by Samragyee RL Shah, Aakash Shrestha and Nazir Hussien in Poon Hill. One of the popular destination to watch sunrise and sunset, Poon Hill is a 3,210 m hill station located in Myagdi District of northern-central Nepal. The nearby village Ghorepani is at 17 kilometres from the district capital of Beni. The place located in the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA) is a popular touristic destination.

The trailer starts with the location map of Poon Hill, where “three strangers” meet. First, Samragyee is shown walking, then Aakash is shown playing with a couple of kids, and Nazir Hussain is shown smiling. The characters start “One Journey” – they are shown walking along a snow filled area towards “One Destination”. A village is shown beside a mountain range. Two characters are shown walking towards a view tower at a hill station with a beautiful snow-covered mountain peaks on the background. “Love” between Aakash and Samragyee, and also between Najir and Samragyee.

Why did Deepak and Deepa leave NFDC Award program mid-way?

The ‘Chhakka Panja’ team attended NFDC Film award with high hopes. That was because, it was nominated in 15 categories – that was the most number of categories any movies were nominated in the award.

What Happened at NFDC?

All the titles that ‘Chhakka Panja’ won – best movie, best actress, best director etc. were announced towards the end. In the star, all the awards were given to other films. Most of the awards ‘Chhakka Panja’ was nominated in went to ‘Purano Dunga’ – the movie that wasn’t as successful as ‘Chhakka Panja’. I can guess how torturous it would have been to Deepak and Deepa.

Priyanka kissed Ayushman after he called her “Girlfriend” on stage at NFDC Award

It’s not a big deal – kissing two lovers. But, the kissing of Priyanka Karki and Ayushman Desraj Joshi is a big deal because:

  • Neither Priyanka nor Ayushman had clearly told they were in relationship before.
  • Ayushman made the big announcement at the stage by terming Priyanka his “girlfriend” and her mother his “girlfriend’s mom” in the stage. When you watch the attached video you could hear a lady telling, “I was waiting for this,” at around 01:43.
  • It is a clear indication that Priyanka is planning to take it as a long-term-relationship. As Priyanka Karki had previously divorced, my guess is that she must have done a better evaluation of the relationship before making it public.

NFDC National Award 2017 winners (watch Award winning movies)

The 6th NFDC National Film Award was held in Hyatt Hotel, Kathmandu. The best film award was awarded to ‘Chhakka Panja’. The movie was also awarded the best actress, best director and best comedy actor awards. The movie was nominated in 15 categories.

Best Actor award was awarded to ‘Jatra’ actor Bipin Karki. The movie was nominated in 11 categories. Another movie ‘Purano Dunga’ was nominated in 9 categories. The award titles have the names of the well known artists of the past. For example the Best Movie award is titled “Hira Sarbotkrista Chalachitra”.

Bollywood actress, Manisha Koirala, was the chief guest of the award ceremony. In the ceremony the artists of the Nepali movie industry had participated.

About ‘Nishani’

A presentation of Prem Subba for Sinai Enterprise banner, ‘Nishani’ is a film by Vinod Sereng. Sereng is the writer and the director of the movie produced by Saroj Bhandari and Lalita Sereng Dhaubadel. The movie is made on the story of a Gurkha army in Kargil war – a war between India and Pakistan. Prashant Tamang is featured as a Gurkha army personnel. The movie had applied to be considered to represent Nepal in the Oscar Award (read more about the 4 films that applied in 2015).

The movie is coproduced by Kishor Dungmali Rai and edited by Bipin Malla and Suraj Shrestha. The cinematographer is Yubaraj Rai, action by Janak Gurung and music is composed by BB Anuragi. Nhyoo Bajracharya has composed the background score of the movie, choreographer is Gobinda Rai and sound design and mixing is done by Sunaya Maan Shrestha. The movie was released in 2014.

The word Chhoro in Nepali is a son. The 1996 release movie about a son is produced by Khusbu Films and is presented by Ganesh Upreti. The story of the movie is written by the director, Ramesh Budhathoki. The chief Assistant director is Nilhari Kafle and assistant director is Mahendra Budhathoki. The chief assistant cinematographers are Deepak Bajracharya and Kumar Bakhati. Assistant choreographer is Pradip Shrestha and assistant editor is Tara Thapa. Assistant action director is Umesh Newa, assistant cinematographers are Bishnu Lamichhane and Madhavraj Bhandari. Playback singers are Uditnarayan Jha, Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Rahul Supriyo, Deepa Jha, Kabita Krishnamurti, and Sagarika. Arts by Gopal Bhutani, action by Rajendra Khadgi, choreography by Raju Shah and Kamal Rai. The cinematographers are Murari Thakura nd Ram Shankar Pradhan and the editor is Banish Shah. The script and the dialogue of the movie are written by Brajesh Khanal.

The movie features Ganesh Upreti in leading role. Well known actresses Bipana and Melina are the lead actresses. Bipana Thapa is currently living in India and has left the film industry after marrying an Indian national. Melina Manandhar is also not active in the film industry after marriage. Shankar Thapalitya is featured as a guest artist.

Is Prem Geet 2 photo leak controversy a promotion strategy?

A few photos of the climax of upcoming movie ‘Prem Geet2’ were leaked online. The photos show the lead actor Pradeep Khadka fighting the producer Santosh Sen. The producer, Sanotsh Sen has claimed that he was trying to keep the scene a secret until the last minute. But, a week before the scheduled release date of the movie, the photos were leaked.

Santosh Sen has claimed that the release of the photos has disrupted the promotion strategy of the movie. The first trailer – planned to be of love theme has to be changed now to include the fight scene. According to Santosh Sen, the photos were leaked by Chandra Bhujel. The producer is planning to call Bhujel in the office and inquire about the leak.

Jharana Thapa got Green Card, Nepal lost another artist to the USA

The well known actress of the Nepali film industry, Jharana Thapa, has also obtained the Green Card of the USA. Jharana has become the third well known artist who had processed the Green Card from Nepal and left after obtaining the Green Card. Previously, actor Dilip Rayamajhi and actress Arunima Lamsal had left Nepal after obtaining the green card.

Although Jharana Thapa and her family is yet to confirm the report, according to the report published in the online version of Sourya Daily, Jharana’s husband has left Nepal to join his family in the USA. On the status update posted by Sunil Kumar Thapa, he has told that it is only a ‘vacation’ to meet “his princess”.

When Jharana went on a ‘vacation’ in November of 2016 – I wrote it was an “odd time” for a vacation because of the rush of the release of the debut of Jharana as a director. Now, it is clear – that was more than a vacation.

Biraj Bhatt to become Harke Raja

Although the comeback movie of Biraj Bhatta – ‘Jaya Parshuram’ was not successful, Biraj is making another attempt to win the heart of Nepali viewers. When Biraj left the Nepali film industry and became the superstar of Bhojpuri film industry, he was in the top position here. But, after a long absence in the industry, it is not going to be easy for Bhatt to reclaim his previous status.

There is however a possibility of Biraj Bhatta to become popular again because, another action star of his time, Nikhil Upreti, has reclaimed his stardom in the film industry recently. He has given some hit movies and is one of the busiest actors in the Nepali film industry. Biraj Bhatta also has the same potential.

Although Biraj Bhatta has told that the shooting schedule is finalized, the official announcement is pending yet. The script writing is going on and other actors are yet to be finalized. It is the birthday of Namrata Shrestha – the top actress of Nepali film industry. Last year, Namrata’s movie ‘Classic’ won her all the Best Actress awards. This year, Namrata’s movie ‘Parva’ was released. Although the movie wasn’t as successful as ‘Classic’ or ‘November Rain’, the movie’s result was as expected by the producers. The thriller movie wasn’t expected to do an exceptional business.

It seems, this year is going to see a huge clash between the new generation actors in the Nepali film industry. The most awaited movies this year feature either a new entry or the new generation actor. One of the most promising upcoming star of the Nepali film industry, Anmol KC’s movie ‘Kri’ is one of the most awaited movie. Similarly Pradeep Khadka’s ‘Prem Geet 2’, Paul Shah’s ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu’ and Samir Man Baniya’s movie ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ and so on.

The most awaited movie of the year ‘Kri’ is releasing this year. The movie created a huge hype by paying him Rs. 20,00,000 and keep him locked up for a year. He also kept himself away from the media and public for almost a year in preparation of the movie. One of the most successful actors in the film industry has 100% success rate from his four movies. All four movies were superhit movies of Anmol KC.

In addition to being exciting it is a challenging year for Anmol KC. He has to keep up with the higher expectation and to justify the cost involved in the movie.

Nepali doctor’s discovery: Charles Shobhraj also has a heart

“Yes! He has a heart and I just fixed valves inside. Recovering normally.”

That was the tweet of Dr. Raamesh Koirala, a heart surgeon at Sahid Gangalal Heart Centre, Kathmandu, talking about the notorious criminal, Charles Shobhraj. He had successfully performed a surgery to replace two of the valves of Shobhraj.

Who is Charles Shobhraj

A notorious killer, Charles Shobhraj is a half-Indian half-Vietnamese descent. After his Indian father divorced his Vietnamese mother, she married a French man. That is how Shobhraj became a French citizen. During the decade of 1970s and early 80s he had killed more than 20 people in Nepal, India, Thailand, Turkey and Iran. He was arrested in India and kept in a high security jail. But, he ran away from the jail and was at large until he was arrested in Nepal. After being sentenced for life in in July 2004, he is kept in jail in Kathmandu.  Continue reading
