Miss Little Culture, Pokhara is Tushar Dube

A beauty and talent contest among the girls aged 6-12 years was held in Pokhara recently. The winner among the 9 contestants was Miss Tushar Dube.

The first runner up of the contest was Miss Ishma Gurung and second runnerup was Pringja Gurung. Ishma was also the Most Confident and Pringja also received the Best Cultural Dress title.

This should be the most rewarding contest as every contestant received at least one title. The title winners were:

  1. Miss Tushar Dube – Miss Little Culture
  2. Miss Ishma gurung – First runner up – Miss Little Culture and Most Confident
  3. Miss Pringja Gurung – Second
runner up – Miss Little culture and Best Cultural Dress

  5. Miss Liza Pun – Most Disciplined
  6. Miss Sushma Poudel – Most Friendly
  7. Miss Ashminta Pun – Best Performence
  8. Miss Jesika Pun – Most Cute
  9. Miss Sophiya Kunwar – Best Smile

I wonder if they had some more titles and they didn’t have contestant to award the title.

Winnie Langley gave-up smoking at 102 and died within a year

What does that mean? Quitting kills?

A lady, Winnie Langley, who smoked for more than 95 years and made headlines when she lit the cigarette from the candle on her 100th birthday cake, died almost at the age of 103. That was just one month short of her 103rd birthday, on July 27, 2010, to be precise.

When her her eyesight got worse and she couldn’t see the end of a match she was persuaded to stop smoking just before Christmas of 2009 (about 7 months before she died). But, the real reason might be something else. As she couldn’t afford the cost of cigarette, she had already cut her 5-cigarettes-a-day routine to one-a-day. (Photo credits – croydonguardian)

Did media fuel Manisha Koirala divorce rumor ?

Times and again it is proven that, nothing is private in the life of a celebrity. In a latest example, Manisha’s minor disagreement and a hasty Facebook post has created further headache to Manisha’s married life. The original Facebook post was deleted within a few hours and the current post is much better saying, she was “super happy” with her partner.

In the context of divorce rumor in media, the sources closer to Manisha are suspecting one of the Indian medias for not letting the rumor subside. The unnamed Indian media is told to be particularly interested in Manisha Koirala gossips and was responsible to blow the minor event out of proportion. I suspect, they might be pointing towards a Nepali daily, Himalaya Darpan, published from Silgudi, India. Himalayan Darpan, in its Nov. 23 Tuesday’s edition, published a front page article with title “Manisha wants divorce”.

The Manisha family source however, couldn’t deny the misunderstanding between Manisha and Samrat. But, it is also told that the event was minor misunderstanding, not big enough to warrant divorce. Manisha’s parents are told to be saddened by the divorce rumor in the media.

Gopal Bhutani – A Nepali who could never became a Nepali Citizen

It’s a sad day, a successful Nepali film personality, Gopal Bhutani, has died. I am more saddened by the fact that the Nepal government never offered him his birthright of Nepali citizenship.

After pressure from the persons in film sector, the government had agreed to fulfill his “last wish”. But, the officials from the Home Ministry called an hour after his death to offer the citizenship certificate.

Born as Gopal Tamang in Ilam, Eastern Nepal, Bhutani went to work in Bollywood in 1940s. When he returned back, the government officials refused him the citizenship due to the title “Bhutani” in his name.

When police break the rules

The following photo raises a serious concern towards the social responsibilities of the Nepalese police force. They are supposed to teach the people to obey the rules and be safe. But the officer in charge of this group has risked the lives of these people and have given a wrong message to the general public.

I hope they will realize their mistake and act responsibly in the future. The photo taken by Deepkiran Sharma in near Mahankalsthan temple, Military Hospital, and Bir Hospital.
