'Love You Man' got an 'A' certificate

The movie made on the love story of a gay couple, ‘Love You Man’ is given an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board. ‘A’ certified movies are only suitable for viewers over 16-years old.

The producer Yubaraj Khatri told that the movie passed the censor board hurdle after third attempt. The movie is scheduled to be released on Friday, Dec 7.  The movie directed by BB Phuyal features actors Raj Aryan, Suresh Chaudhari and Pranisha Adhikari in leading roles.

'3 Lovers' team not satisfied by PG certificate, releasing on Dec 7

The censor board has issued a ‘PG’ certificate to the movie ‘3 Lovers’. The movie made on love story features some kiss scenes and bed scenes that are supposed to be not suitable for kids to watch alone.  The director Suresh Darpan Pokhrel has told that he was surprised by the judgment of the censor board.

The son of Mausami Malla, Vickey Malla is debuting in Nepali movie industry with his first movie ‘Samaya’. The movie will also introduce new actress, Surabhi Bista. In their debut movie, the couple have give a lot of hot scenes.

After 14 years of absence from Nepali movie industry, Saroj Khanal is going to appear in an upcoming movie ‘Manav’. The actor was one of the best actors of his time. After he went to the USA, he stopped appearing in movies.

Last year, when he was in Nepal, Saroj Khanal acted in the movie and the movie is now ready to be released in the first month of 2013.

Manisha Koirala in USA for further checkup and treatment

Actress Manisha Koirala is currently in the US for further checkup and treatment after being diagnosed of cancer in India.

While in Nepal for Tihar, she got sick and admitted to a hospital in Kathmandu. She was initially thought to be suffering from food poisoning. When she fainted, the doctors decided that something much serious was the case and referred her to Indian hospital. She was admitted to Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai where she was diagnosed of having ovarian cancer. As the cancer was in it’s initial stage the doctors were confident that they could cure Manisha. But, Manisha’s friends and families wanted a better treatment and suggested an US hospital for further treatment.

Film Journalist Dabbu Kshetri to direct 'Passport'

In a latest news, a film journalist for almost two decade, Dabbu Kshetri, has thought that he can direct movies too. A movie named ‘Passport’ will bear his name as the director. That’s not all, he is also the writer of the movie.

Dabbu told that he had studied film direction for the last four years before jumping in the new profession. Dabbu has previously directed music videos including a music video for the 3-year-old child singer, Athiti KC.

Although the artists aren’t finalized yet, the movie is all set to go on floor in the first week of Falgun. The movie to be shot in foreign locations like Malaysia and Dubai is scheduled to be completed in 35 days.

Nepali Film award to be held in Dubai on Dec 7

The first Nepali movie award to be organized to in the foreign soil, ‘Box Office Film Award 2012’ is now scheduled to be organized on Friday, December 7, 2012.

The award was previously schedule on October 12, 2012. Because of the unavailability of artists during the festive season, the award ceremony was postponed. At that time, the photos of artists were used in the promotion of the ceremony without the consent of the artists. In a latest news release, the organizers have claimed that more
than 40 artists will arrive from Nepal in Dubai for the event.

Rajesh Hamal Honored in Pokhara

After returning from the US the top actor of Nepali film industry, was honored in a program organized in Pokhara. In an education fair that started in Pokhara on November 27, 2012, Rajesh Hamal was one of the five people honored.

Miss Nepal 2005, Sugarika KC, is getting married on November 30, 2012. The lucky young man to marry Sugarika is Sanat Neupane an ex-kantipur publication employee.

Although Sugarika had known Sanat for some time, the marriage is told to be an arranged one and they didn’t have an affair before the marriage. The wedding ceremony is going to be held in Universal Café in Nakhhu  in traditional fashion. The ceremony will be engagement and marriage at the same time.

Baboo Bogati's birthday and music launch of 'Biteka Pal' in Darjeeling

The upcoming movie of the producer of ‘Bato Muniko Phool’, Rajesh Ghatani is being shot in Darjeeling, India. The movie repeats most of the crews of ‘Bato Muniko Phool’ including it’s director Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’, lead actor Baboo Bogati and others. While the movie is being shot in Darjeeling, the crew took a rest to celebrate Baboo Bogati’s birthday. The 31st birthday of the actor was celebrated by cutting a cake.

The music of the movie was also launched in Darjeeling. On the day of music
launch the lead actors Baboo Bogati, Keki Adhikari, and Abinash Gurung offered autographs on the music CDs sold on that day. The production team was excited by the sale of about thousand CDs on the day. The songs of the movie are recorded in the music of Babu Bogati, Dambar Nepali and Roshan Lama.

Nagma Shrestha 7th position in Miss Earth 2012

Nepal’s representative to Miss Earth 2012 contest, Nagma Shrestha has bee successful in securing the 7th position in the world. Although she couldn’t win the title, this is so far the best position any Nepali beauty has achieved in any international beauty contest. Apart from being in the top 8, Nagma was also successful in winning the silver medal in mural painting in the contest.

Kathmandu International Theater Festival started

Kathmandu International Theater Festival 2012 started on November 23 at Mandala Theatre, Anamnagar. The festival will end on 7th December 2012. In the event organized by Aarohan Gurukul theater group various plays from different countries will be featured at different times. The participants have come from countries like Estonia, France, India, Iran, Norway, Russia and USA.

ATM banned on the first day of release

As if the controversy is not enough, the movie ‘ATM‘ is banned after releasing in theaters today. The censor board had censored the movie and ordered the movie team to remove objectionable scenes while giving it an ‘A’ certificate. But, when the movie was released, the officials in the Board found that the production team hadn’t removed the objectionable scenes and had released the un-edited version of the movie.

After the Censor Board directed Home Ministry to stop the show, the screening of the movie has stopped after it’s second show. In response to the government action, producer and actor Dinesh Thapa told that it was technician’s mistake to leave out the censored scenes.  He told
that the movie will be shown again after removing the objectionable scenes.

After a long vacation in the US to celebrate Dashain and Tihar, Nepali Superstar returned back to Nepal on November 21, 2012. Rajesh Hamal had left Nepal on October and he had celebrated the festival of brothers and sisters, Tihar festival, with his sisters living in the US, after a long time.

'Visa Girl' to release in India

Although the much publicized Nepali movie ‘Visa Girl’ couldn’t do good business in Nepal, the producers are trying their luck in India. On the occasion of Christmas (December 25, 2012), the movie will be premiered in Gangtok, Sikkim.

The lead actors in ‘Visa Girl’, Binaya Shrestha and Richa Sharma are also the co-producers of the movie. The movie directed by Prachanda M Shrestha also features Karma, Reshamdas Shrestha, Menuka Pradhan, Reema Bishowkarma and Saloni Rajbhandari in addition to Bina
