Summer Love to be made in to a movie by Bikash Acharya

Well known director and producer Bikash Acharya has decided to make a movie on the novel ‘Summer Love’ by Subin Bhattarai. Bikash has contacted Subin and is negotiating to get into a reasonable deal with the writer.

As Bikash Acharya will be busy in the direction of the fourth sequel of the popular movie ‘Nai Nabhannu La’, he has assigned the director of ‘Nai Nabhannu La 3’, Muskan Dhakal for the direction of the movie. The movie was recently released and was well received by the audience. The pre-production works of ‘Nai Nabhannu La 4’ is currently going on. Child actor Anubhav Regmi and Aryan Sigdel are the only artists finalized for the movie.

Film shootings resumes after earthquake

After devastating earthquake of April 25, 2015, the Nepali film industry is trying to get back to its track. After the earthquake all the shootings were halted, movie releases re-scheduled, and the theatres were closed. Artists were busy in earthquake relief works. Now, more than a months of the sad incident, the industry some works have started.

At the time of  the earthquake, the shooting of the movie ‘Bhaag Saani Bhaag’ was in its last stage in Kathmandu. When the shooting studio was damaged by the earthquake, the remaining shooting was done in the home of one of the artists.

Rajesh Hamal celebrates his first marriage anniversary in Pokhara

Nepali actor Rajesh Hamal celebrated his first marriage anniversary in Pokhara. At the age of 50, Rajesh had married 20 years younger Madhu Bhattarai were married on May 24, 2014. Rajesh and Madhu had a plan to go to the USA for their honeymoon. But, when Madhu’s visa application was delayed, they had to go to Pokhara for the honeymoon, that too, after a month of marriage. Rajesh went to Australia in an pre-scheduled program and couldn’t take Madhu with him. Although the honeymoon in USA couldn’t be a reality, they went to the USA in March this year.

Celebration of the first anniversary in the place they went for honeymoon does make sense. In a Facebook post, Rajesh writes, “We cam for Pokhara tourism program on Thursday, which also happens to be our anniversary. Pokhara is great as ever paragliding and ultra light fly made our visit even more special.”

Resham Filili to re-release on August 28

The movie ‘Resham Filili,’ released on a day before the devastating earthquake of April 25, 2015 is going to re-release after four months – on August 28, 2015. The producer of the movie, Madhav Wagle has announced the new date after a month of the first release. The movie became a very awaited movie on the success of one of the songs – ‘Jalama …’ The Sukul Premier of the movie a day before the release was also appreciated by the media.

On the second day of the release, the movie show had to be halted because of the earthquake that claimed more than eight thousand lives. The movies scheduled to release on the following weeks were also canceled. The theaters remained closed for a whole month. Even after a month of closure, the viewers are still reluctant to go to the theater to watch movies. Some of the theaters are still closed for the repair of damage caused by earthquake.

Rekha Thapa supports four earthquake victim film journalists

Through her organization, Rekha Thapa Foundation, actress Rekha Thapa has given Rs. 30,000 in cash to each of the four film journalists whose houses were damaged by the April 25 earthquake. Rekha currently being in the USA, has send the money to the victim film journalists through the Shabir Shrestha, the secretary of the Foundation.

The journalists who received the support money include DP Shah, Bijaya Ratna Tuladhar, Kuber Giri and Sarada Thapa. All four journalists had lost their homes to earthquake.

12 Major Theaters closed after earthquake, Chha Ekan Chha re-releasing

According to Motion Picture Association, 12 major theaters are closed in the earthquake affected area. Some of the closed theaters are undergoing repairs after earthquake damages and others are closed because of the lack of the movie to screen in them. As the earthquake aftershocks haven’t stopped even after a month of the devastating earthquake, viewers are skeptical in going to theaters to watch the movies.

According to Gopal Kayastha, Kalanki theater is in the verge of collapse, Asta Narayan and Ganga are also being renovated after earthquake. Other closed theaters include a multiplex in Bagbazar, Subhakamana and Mayur theaters in Banepal, Barahi and Kamalbinayak theaters in Bhaktapur, Hira Ratna, Asta Narayan, Ganga and Kalanki theaters in Kathmandu.

The movie is produced by Pramod Subba ‘Khajum’. The editor is Mitra D. Gurung and the director, Prashant, has written the story and the script of the movie.

Chha Ekan Chha to release to support earthquake victims

The comedy actor and the producer of the hit movie ‘Chha Ekan Chha,’ Deepak Raj Giri has announced that the movie is re-releasing on Friday to support earthquake victims. According to report, co-producer actress Deepa Shree Niraula had suggested the re-release of the movie.

As no new Nepali movies are being released for some time, Deepa and Deepak had decided to utilize this time to release the hit movie to collect fund for earthquake victim. Will the movie theaters open this Friday?

It has almost been a month of the devastating Nepal Earthquake and the film theaters are yet to open for business. Although the theater owners had announced the resumption of business on the second week of earthquake, the government found them risky to re-open before comprehensive structural evaluation of the structures.

The second big after shock on May 12 caused further damages to the structures and killed some people. The theaters couldn’t open on that week. Now, there is still uncertainty of the safety the theaters as some theaters. The government hasn’t been able to identify the risky and safe theaters so far. According to the spokesperson of Film Development Board (FDB), the government authority will require some more days to publish the full list of damaged theaters.

Temporary residences named after movies

The temporary residences constructed by the help of Nepali film artists at Rampur Danda of Kabhrepalanchowk are handed over to the locals. The earthquake had destroyed about 40 houses in the area. On May 20 a group of Nepali film artists handed over the houses, named after popular Nepali movies, to the owners.

The team led by Suresh Darpan Pokharel in association of actress Keki Adhikari had constructed all 40 temporary residences in the last four days. The volunteer artists include Benisha Hamal, Surekshya Pant, Melina Manandhar, Barsha Siwakoti, Nandita KC, Dilip Rayamajhi, Jiwan Luitel, Anmol KC, Yashraj, Swotantra Pratap Shah and musician Basanta Sapkota had supported by volunteering and providing the financial resources to help in the construction of the buildings.

All the 40 houses are named after Nepali films including the first Nepali movie ‘Aama’ (watch ‘Aama’ here) to the relatively new movie ‘Sano Sansar’ (watch ‘Sano Sansar’ here). The naming of the house didn’t have any relationship to the producers of the movies.

Being Sunny Leone, Shristi Shrestha hot appearance in a Bollywood music video

Miss Nepal 2012, Shristi Shrestha, is featured in a remix video of a popular song of a Bollywood movie ‘Jackpot’. The music video features the actor of the movie Sachin Joshi opposite to Shristi. In the original filming of the song ‘Kabhi Jo Badal Barse…’ actress Sunny Leone was featured opposite to Sachin.

In the music video, Shristi seem to be a competition to Sunny in terms of the sensuality (watch the video to decide):
