Ghamad Shere is a popular Nepali movie featuring well known celebrity couple Nischal Basnet and Swastima Khadka in leading role. The song of the movie were also very popular and the movie has received more than 14M views at the time of this posting. Other artists in the movie include Gauri Malla in a special appearance, Sushma Niraula, Badal Bhatta, Lokendra Lekhak, Roy and Saroj Aryal. A film by Hem Raj BC, the movie is the presentation of BC Motion Pictures.

A presentation of G21 Pictures and Black Horse Pictures, the movie “DUI RUPAIYAN” gained a lot of limelight because of the popular song – ‘Kutu ma kutu’ featuring Swastima and her husband Nischal Basnet. The movie was produced by Nischal and Asif, two of the leading characters. Swastima Khadka was only featured in the super hit song.

The movie ‘Prasad’ was released last week. The movie was well received by the critics and viewers. It started with house-full business. The movie is made on a very realistic love story with effective artistic aspects of cinema.

The movies shows a true reflection of the society and the people. Very good acting lead actors and very good presentation by carefully integrating the events in the story.

About Uma : The movie is made on the story of the Maoists insurgency in the 1990s. One of the saddest time in the history of Nepal is being presented in this movie – While the war is over, its residuces are still in the society. The aftermath of the 10-year conflict has polarised Nepali society and the effects of the ‘People’s war’ is still starkly evident. The film is set in the early 2000s, during the Maoist insurgency, when Nepal was going through one of the biggest conflicts in the country’s history. The movie is a story of a widowed mother (Mithila Sharma) and her two children – her son Milan (Saugat Malla) and her daughter Uma (Reecha Sharma). The film is inspired by true events. The story of the film is about a brother and a sister who are separated by conflict circumstances and ideological differences.

The sequel of super hit movie ‘Loot’ was also well received and the movie made a huge impact by its item song ‘Thamel Bazar’. Although the sequel wasn’t as successful as the original, people have liked it. A few days ago the movie was leaked in Facebook and now it is made available by the producers. Produced under Princess Movies and Black Horse Pictures Production, and A Popcorn Pictures banner, ‘Loot 2’ is directed by Nischal Basnet, the director of the original movie. In addition to Saugat Malla, Karma, Dayahang Rai, Reecha Sharma the movie also features Bipin Karki, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, Srijana Subba, Sushil Raj Pandey, Rratik Raj Neupaney, Sushil Uprety and Alisha Rai.

One of the most awaited Nepali movies ‘Loot 2’ was released on this Friday, February 24, 2016 (Read ‘Loot 2’ Release news). The success of the original ‘Loot’ had increased the expectations and desire in the viewers. That is the reason, most of the prospective viewers ask, “Is ‘Loot 2’ as good as ‘Loot’?” The answer to the question is not easy. Some think it is better than the original but, others think that it is not. Everybody agree that the movie entertaining and it could have been made better. ‘Loot 2’ Story

The original movie ‘Loot’ was was made and released before earthquake and Indian blockade and was about bank robbery. The movie ‘Loot 2’ is set at the time of the Indian blockade, after the earthquake of 2015. In the movie, four of the characters Gofle (Dayahang Rai), Nare (Karma), Deban (Prateek) and Pandey (Sushil) run away from the jail right after the earthquake. The fugitive four are in search of Haku Kale (Saugat Malla) believing that Haku Kale was the cause of their arrest.

Friday Relase – Loot 2 (record breaking first day collection)

One of the highly awaited movie of the current time, ‘Loot 2’ was released in theatre on February 24, 2017. The first day shows of the movie was packed and houseful in most of the theatres.

The sequel of the 2012 release movie ‘Loot’, continues the story of the characters of the original movie. Set in Kathmandu, the movie shows the typical lifestyle in the capital city. The theatres in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Dharan, Hetauda, Butwal also saw houseful business. In addition to the hype and publicity, the viewers have also liked the movie and the mouth publicity has also kicked in. But one of the journalists, Krishna Dhungana has told that he didn’t like the movie and asked the director the ticket price Rs. 330 back.

The main character of the movie, Haku Kale, is Saugat Malla. Dayahang Rai is featured as Gofle and the actress is Reecha Sharma.

The legacy of ‘Loot’

Loot 2 item song, is it better than Udreko Choli?

The sequel of superhit movie ‘Loot’, ‘Loot 2’ is in making. An item song of the movie titled ‘Laijau Thamel Bazar …’ was released on October 22 featuring a new item girl, Alisha Rai, as Sundari. The song composed by Kali Prasad Baskota features the voices of Kali Prasad Baskota, Mina Niraula and Bhanubhakta Dhakal, and is written jointly by Ektaare and Kali Prasad Baskota.

The sequel features most of the cast and the crews of the original movie. In the original movie, ‘Loot’ the item song titled ‘Udhreko Choli ..’ had become very popular. The song had established actress Sushma Karki as an item girl. It is to be seen if Alisha Rai will follow the success of Sushma Karki. ‘Loot’ is credited for rescuing the Nepali movie industry when it was in its worst time in the history.

Loot Director Nischal Basnet marries Hostel Returns actress Swastima Khadka

In an event held in Kathmandu, well known director Nischal Basnet has married a new actress in Nepali film industry, Swastima Khadka. In a private event held on February 17, 2016, among his friends and family, Nischal has married and taken Swastima home.  In the evening, a reception party was held to celebrate the marriage. A video report on the wedding:

The wedding was not a surprise event, as Swastima and Nischal were engaged in December, and the marriage was being planned since then. The news of their engagement however was a surprise event for many. The age difference between the bride and the groom was talked a lot at that time. 34-years old Nischal is 14 years older than is 20-years old wife.

Loot 2 in making, Nischal Basnet interview

The director of the superhit movie ‘Loot’, Nischal Basnet, has told that he has found the story of the sequel of the movie ‘Loot 2’. It seems every successful movies (and event unsuccessful movies) are being made into sequels.

He told that he has also started the writing of the script of the movie. Talking to Setoparda, Nischal told that the formal announcement of the sequel will be done in near future.

Nischal Basnet and Swastima Khadka got engaged, to marry in February

The director of ‘Loot’ and ‘Talakjung VS Tulke’ and the actor of movies like ‘Kabaddi’, Nischal Basnet, and the actress of hit movie ‘Hostel Returns’, Swastima Khadka, have got engaged in an event held in Kathmandu on December 14, 2015. The marriage between the two is scheduled to be held on February 17, 2016 (Falgun 5).

The rumor of the affair between Nischal and Swastima had been going on in the Nepali film sector for a while. I had also written about the possibility of their marriage three months ago.
