Premier show of Prashant Tamang movie Nishani held in Hetauda and Kathmandu

A premier show of upcoming movie ‘Nishani’ was held in Hetauda and Kathamndu. The movie features Prashant Tamang and Anu Gurung in lead roles. In the premier held in Kathmandu film producers, directors and film artists were invited. The show in Hetauda was held for the film journalists.

‘Nishani’ is released in theater on Friday was premiered in Q’s Cinemas at Rising Mall in Kathmandu. The movie is made on the story of Gurkha army in Kargil war. Prashant Tamang is featured as a Gurkha army personnel in the movie.

The movie produced by Saroj Bhandari and Lalita Serang Dhaubhdel is told to be made on the real story. The movie is written and directed by Binod Serang.

Priyanka Karki and Keki Adhikari arrive Kathmandu to promote Mero Best Friend

The actresses of the movie releasing on Friday, ‘Mero Best Friend’, Priyanka Karki and Keki Adhikari are currently shooting together in Pokhara and surrounding areas. The actresses arrived from the sets of their upcoming movie ‘Fanko’ to Kathmandu to participate in the premier show of ‘Mero Best Friends’ held at FCube.

On Thursday Keki and Priyanka were shooting in Damauli when they headed towards Kathmandu. They however don’t have much free time. To continue the shooting of ‘Fanko’ on Friday at 6 AM, the actresses took off toward Damauli right after the premier and press meet.

The premier show of ex-Miss Nepal’s debut movie as an actress, ‘Ritu’ was held in Big Movies in Kathmandu and Sydney in Australia. The premier show was attended by current and ex-Miss Nepal, politicians, actors and actresses of Nepali film industry.

‘Ritu’ features actress Reema Bishowkarma and Malina Joshi romancing with actor Raj Ballav Koirala. The movie directed by Manoj Adhikari also featured Bishnu Neupane.

Premier of Jholey held in Dharan, Priyanka witnesses an ‘amazing response’

A red carpet charity premiere of upcoming movie ‘Jholey’ was held in Dharan. ‘Jholey’ actors Priyanka Karki and Dayahang Rai were in Dharan for the promotion of the movie and to participate in the premier show.

After the premier, Priyanka told that the turnover of the viewers was huge and the response was ‘amazing’. Priyanka said, “People were laughing and laughing and laughing!”

The charity show was organized by Nepal’s Most Desirable. ‘Jholey’ is directed by Dipendra K Khanal and is scheduled to release on Falgun 9.

Actor Dayahang arrived at the promotion of the movie in Dharn amidst the mourning the death of his father.

Priyanka was with her grandmother to watch the movie. She looked great in cream colored gown.

Biteka Pal to premier in US on January 8

The movie to release in theaters all over Nepal on January 10, ‘Biteka Pal’  is going to be premiered in the USA on January 8. Dreams Entertainmetn is planning to screen the movie in St. Louis. The executive producer, Krish Rijal will be present in the premier ceremony.

After the premier, the movie will also be screened in other cites of the USA and Canada. Krish Rijal is coordinating the movie screening in US and Canada according to the demand of the local residents.

Biteka Pal to get a trim in length before the release on Jan 10

After the premier show, the film makers of ‘Biteka Pal’ have collected the views and suggestions of the viewers to make it better. The movie is one of the four movies releasing on January 10, 2013.

Although the director Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ was appreciated for making a good movie and the actress Keki Adhikari for her acting skills, some have complained that the movie has some unnecessary and confusing scenes. In a report, the producer Rajesh Ghatani has told that the length of the movie will be trimmed by 20 minutes to incorporate the suggestion of the expert viewers. In a Facebook message, Ghatani told that he has considered the suggestions of the viewers his New Year’s present.

Hamesha premiered in a jail, releasing on 12 April with Notebook

Movies are usually premiered in theaters and hotels but, this time, a movie is premiered in a most unusual place, a jail. Rekha Thapa‘s upcoming movie, ‘Hamesha’ was premiered among 600 convicted criminals in the jail in Dillibazar. Nepali Congress leader Khum Bahadur Khadka who is serving his jail terms was also among the viewers.

Dhanda premier held in Kathmandu – releasing on Dec 28

One day before the release of the movie all over Nepal, a premire show of ‘Dhanda’ was held in a new theater in Chabahil, Kathmandu. Some two hundred film and media person were present to see the movie.

The viewers of the premier show have appreciated the movie. Although the movie is told to have excessive violence, the effort of the production team was appreciated by the majority of the audience. People of weak hearts are not suggested to watch the movie.

Kollywood to be premiered in Doha on Jan 11

Nepali movie ‘Kollywood’ is going to be premiered in Doha, Qatar on January 11, 2013. The International Artist Forum(IAF) Qatar is organizing the premier show of the movie made on the story of struggle done by a typical newcomer actress in Nepali movie industry.

The movie will be featured in Doha Cinema Hall at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM. In the show, ‘Kollywood’ actors Priyanka Karki, Aryan Sigdel, and other team members will also be present during the show.

'Soongava' premiered in KIMFF

On the last day of the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) 2012 Nepali movie ‘Soongava – Dance of the Orchids’ was premiered (Nepal premier) amongst various film and fashion personalities. The red carpet event was held in City Hall Kathmandu. The Subarna Thapa’s movie features actresses Diya Maskey and Nisha Adhikari in lead roles as lesbian lovers. The movie was previously named ‘Snow Flowers‘ and was released as ‘Soongava’.

‘Soongava’ will be released in theaters on Poush 20 (January 4, 2013). In addition to Nisha and Diya the also movie features Saugat Malla, Basundhara Bhusal, Sarita Giri, and Menuka Pradhan in main roles.    Continue reading

'Mutu' premiered in USA

Nepali movie ‘Mutu’ was premiered in Dallas, Texas on October 6, 2012 Saturday in Funasia theater. The world premier ceremony of the movie attracted a lot of Nepali resident in Dallas. Out of the fund raised from the show, one fifth of the fund was donated to and organization working for less privileged women and children, Devi Sahara Foundation, Nepal.

The Nepali viewers had a mixed response with many appreciating the movie. For the benefit of viewers who can’t understand Nepali language, English sub-titles were also added in the movie.

‘I AM’ screened in Kathmandu

A film by Onir, I AM, was screened in the Rastriya Nach Ghar on Sunday, June 5, 2011. The movie financed by the users of social networking sites, has some 400 financers from 46 countries.

The film stars Nandita Das, Purab Kholi, Manisha Koirala, Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Suri and Rahul Bose in different stories including – I Am Afia, I Am Megha, I am Abhimanyu, and I Am Omar.

Biratako Chino Premiered in Australia (photos)

On August 1, 2010, producer and director Shankar Ghimire premiered his movie ‘Biratako Chino’ in Australia. Actress and Shankar’s wife Richa Ghimire was also present in the show. The movie features Biraj Bhatta, Suman Singh, Richa Ghimire, Rejina Upreti, and Ranjana Sharma in the leading roles.

The music score of the movie, based on a patriotic story, is prepared by Suresh Adhikari. The movie is scheduled to be screened on August 15 in Perth.
