Sushil Chhetri and Roshani Blon to be featured in Commission

A new Nepali movie ‘Commission’ was inaugurated in an event organized in Koteshowr Mahadev temple. A producer of Tamang films, Hinjen Dorje Films, is debuting the production of Nepali movie with this movie. The movie is made on the story of corruption in Nepal and its effect in the development of the country.

The movie ‘Commission’ is made on the story and lyrics of Shankar Adhikari and directed by DB Dong. A presentation of Bikram Shrestha, the movie will feature Sushil Chhetri, Mukunda Thapa, Roshani Blon, Ram Chandra Adhikari, Sujata KC, Sundar Thapa and others. Cinematographer of the movie is Deepak Lama, action by Shankar Maharjan and music of Rajendra Shrestha. The movie is jointly produced by Dhruba Gautam, Ashok Tamang and Kumari Dong.

Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe to release on May 15, premier in Bahrain

The production team of ‘Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe’ have announced the release date of the movie for Jestha 1 (May 15, 2015).

Before the release in Nepal, the team will take the movie to premier in Bahrain on April 17. In addition to that, a charity show of the movie will also be held in Syangja.

Durga 2, one more sequel to be made by Shovit Basnet

The makers of the hit movie released on 2063 BS, ‘Durga’ have announced a sequel movie titled ‘Durga 2’ to be made soon. The producer and the director of the original movie, Suraj Pradhan and Shovit Basnet respectively will repeat in ‘Durga 2’. The director Basnet had told that the team is currently busy in the music composition and script writing.

The action movie ‘Durga’ (Watch ‘Durga’ in full here) featured Biraj Bhatt opposite to actress Rekha Thapa. Rekha Thapa had established as an action actress in the original ‘Durga’. The movie had celebrated 51 days and 100 days in some theaters. To repeat the actress, Basnet is trying to convince Rekha to do the role in the sequel. Biraj and Rekha are not in good terms these days, and Biraj has been very busy in Bhojpuri movies to work in Nepali movies. Other actors Ramit Dhungana and Rejina Upreti aren’t in Nepal these days.

Soul Sister flopped, Namrata Shrestha is not sad

Although the investment, actress Namrata Shrestha made on her recent release movie ‘Soul Sister,’ went to drain she says she is not sad. Although the movie flopped miserably, Namrata says that she sees the silver lining. She also expressed happiness that she didn’t take advantage of anybody. ‘Soul Sister’ was released on January 15, 2015.

Talking to an online magazine, Namrata told that the movie making was a new experience and she had learnt a lot of new things. Although the experience was costly, the experience would be helpful in her future projects. That was a clear indication that she is not giving up film making, at least not yet.

The world famous writing of Harry Potter series of books and movies, JK Rolling is currently in Kathmandu. Rowling had arrived in her private aircraft in Kathmandu in the evening of March 19.

Rowling is a billionaire writer who is ranked 12th most rich person in the UK. More than 400 million copies of Rowling’s Harry Potter sequel has been sold all over the world. She has won various awards and the books are also made into highly successful movies. She is also considered the first writer who became billionaire by writing books.

A college girl story, Nepali movie Manasha announced

A movie on the story of a college girl, ‘Manasha’ is announced on March 18. The song recording of the movie to be made on the direction of Bed Prasad Bhurtel started on Wednesday. The first song of the movie was recorded on the voice of Binod Dhakal. The musicians of the movie are Binod Dhakal and Kiran Michael.

To be made under the banners of Everest Entertainment and Arushi Films, ‘Manasha’ will feature Prajwal Giri, Deepak Kandel, Rajiv Thapa, Shakti Pakhrin, Namita Bhandari and others. The producers of the movie are Kamal Khadka and Prativa Khadka. The story of the movie is written by Sudip Atraya and script is written by Kiran Michael.

Friday Release, Mala

This Friday, on March 20, 2015, ‘Mala’ is the only movie released in theaters. The movie made on thriller theme is a story of a dead soul. Actress Priyanka Karki is featured as the central character and is mostly mute throughout the movie.

The movie also features Aryan Sigdel, Sumina Ghimire, Luniva Tuladhar, Sambhu Thapa, Bidhya Karki, Namita Acharya, Shishir Rana and others.

RIP Anu Shrestha, wife of Purushottam Pradhan died

After 24 days of delivery of her daughter, the wife of well known cinematographer Purushottam Pradhan, Anu Shrestha, has died at her home. According to the report, she had died at around midnight on Thursday. Anu wasn’t feeling well for the last couple of days. The exact cause of the death is not known now.

Purushottam and Anu had been having affair for a long time before getting married. Purushottam and Anu had married this year on Baisakh 26. Anu had given birth to a daughter on Falgun 12.

Nawal Nepal features Keki and Sabin in Bhaag Saani Bhaag

Director Nawal Nepal has announced a new movie titled ‘Bhaag Saani Bhaag’ in a program organized in Kathmandu on Thursday, March 19. Noted musician Chetan Sapkota is debuting as a film producer in the movie.

The female oriented movie will revolve around the the character Saani, played by actress Keki Adhikari. Chhabi says Shilpa Pokharel will forget him after Hawaldar Suntali

The ‘Hawaldar Suntali’ producer Chhabi Raj Ojha has told that it is likely that Shilpa Pokharel will be too busy after the release of the movie that she might forget him. Talking about how good the movie has become, Chhabi said that the demand of Shilpa will suddenly increase after the movie. Shilpa Pokharel is currently in Burgunj for the shooting of Karishma Manandhar‘s movie ‘Falgu’. Chhabi told that he had called Shilpa and told her about his fear.

After watching the final product of the movie, Chhabi told that the movie reminded him of the super-hit movie of Rekha Thapa, ‘Himmat’ (watch ‘Himmat’ in full here). He says that the movie has everything a viewer wants to see in a movie. He says that the movie is made on the South Indian style – popular among the youth audience.

Mala premier held, Priyanka scared of her own character

The movie to release this week on Friday, ‘Mala’ was premiered in Q’s Cinema Kathmandu on March 18. In the premier show held among film artists, journalists and guests. The viewers of the show include the actor Aryan Sigdel, actress Priyanka Karki and all the crew of the production team. 

Actress Priyanka is playing the leading character, Mala, in the movie. Priyanka sitting next to ex-Miss Nepal Malvika Subba was once scared of her own picturisation as the soul of the character she has played. She later confirmed that it was the first time she had actually seen the movie. In addition to Priyanka, other actresses were also scared by the movie. Actress Benisha Hamal, Nandita KC and choreographer Renasha Rai admitted being scared by the movie. Priyanka’s character is silent throughout the movie.

Anup Baral to direct Dokh, a story of a football game

Actor and director Anup Baral is all set to start the shooting of a new movie titled ‘Dokh’. The movie featuring mostly the theater artists is scheduled to start the shooting this week.

Anup started film direction in ‘Fitkiri’ (watch ‘Fitkiri’ in full here). Although the movie was not as successful as expected, his theater play ‘Court Martial’ featuring actor was very successful. ‘Dokh’ will be his second directorial venture in Nepali movie industry.

The script of ‘Dokh’ was selected in a competition held by the production company, ALP Entertainment. ALP Entertainment had previously made ‘Ritu’ (watch ‘Ritu’ in full here). The script by the writer of ‘Mokshya’, Rajan Kathayat, was selected for the movies. ‘Dokh’ is a story of a football match between two villages during the Maoist people’s war time.  The movies pictures the conflict and hatred through the football game.
