Namrata Shrestha seen with boyfriend in Adhakatti premier show ?

Actress Namrata Shrestha was seen with a guy named Dawa Sherpa in the premier show of ‘Adhakatti’. The premier show held on Monday at Kumari theater in Kathamndu on October 19 featured traditional panche baja and a score of artists and well known personality.

‘Adhakatti’ features Namrata Shrestha in cameo role and she has done an item dance on the song made on her own name. Although Namrata didn’t publicly told that Dawa Sherpa was her boyfriend, there were rumor that the guy is Namrata’s new boyfriend.

Initially Namrata was rumored to be seeing actor Raymon Das Shrestha. Their affair remained a mystery as neither of them confirmed it.

Nepali movie ‘Achanak’ is a presentation of the producer Saroj Sharma Tirupati Pictures. The script of the movie is written by the director Deshbhakta Khanal. The movie was released in theatre in 2011.

Jeshika Khadka is introduced in a new name in the movie. The actress previously known as Jyoti Khadka had changed her name to Jeshika after her sex scandal with comedy singer, Prakash Ojha. The actress later committed suicide.

Sushri, Adhakatti, Thamel Dot Com, Paradeshi releasing on Fulpati

This week, four new movies are releasing on October 19, 2015 – on Tuesday instead of the usual Friday releases. That is because of the biggest festival in Nepal, Dashain. To benefit from the holiday season, these four movies are targeting the people who are free from work and studies. Although the film producers association had tried to stop the unconventional release on Tuesday, its effort wasn’t successful.

Sushri

The movie by director Shivam Adhikari, ‘Sushree’ introduces model Ashika Tamang as an actress. Ashika is also the producer of the movie. With Ashika, the movie features Aryan Sigdel and Surabina Karki in leading roles. It has been a while since Aryan Sigdel’s movie has been released in theater. The movie is made on comedy theme.

The shooting and post-production of  ‘Sushri’ was done in 2015, shooting starting in March this year.

Top 5 nominations in D Cine Award 2015 (Full list)

The nominations for the upcoming movie award, D Cine Award has been released. The 7th edition of the cinema award is one of the many Nepali film awards being held by various organizations. The Award has teamed up with CG (Chaudhary Group, the business organization of Binod Chaudhary) this year to rename it LG D Cine Award 2072. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held in Mangsir month.

The nomination list is prepared from the movies released in the year 2071 BS. There will be 38 different categories of the award in the award ceremony. The award organizer has told that most of the 82 movies released in the year have participated in the award.

The jury members of the Award ceremony are writer and director Mohan Niraula, journalist and director Bijayaratna Tuladhar, musician Santosh Shrestha, and the first female cinematographer of Nepal Sabanam Mukhiya. Three movies out of the 5 nominations for best movies are available to watch in xnepali.

The first 3D movie in the Nepali film industry, Nepali movie ‘Vigilante’ is a presentation of Ashma Films. The movis is directed by the director of hit movie ‘Chapali Height’ (watch ‘Chapali Height’ here).

The thriller movie features the screenplay of Shan Basnyat, cinematography of Purushottam Pradhan.  We had written the review of the movie – read the review of ‘Vigilante’ here. Our recommendation in the review was to keep the expectation low while watching the movie.

At xnepali, when we talk about tattoo, it’s tattoo on the body of Nepali artists. Once we posted some tattoo photos of true geeks. Now that is the past. The geekiest tattoo on Nepali artists might be that of actress Arunima Lama. Arunima Lama was featured as a nude model in the movie ‘Kina Kina’. Nischal Basnet debuts as a singer in Kabaddi Kabaddi, and he is good!

The director of the super hit movies ‘Loot’ and ‘Talakjung Vs Tulke’, and noted actor of movies like ‘Kabaddi’, Nischal Basnet has debuted as a singer in his upcoming movie ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi’. Unlike most of other actors/actresses who have given voices to songs, Nischal is as good as a professional singer. May be it is the magic of the music composer Kali Prasad Baskota but, after listening to the song, one can be sure that Nischal has a potential of being a singer.

The sequel of ‘Kabaddi’, Ram Babu Gurung’s directorial venture, ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi’ is in post production phase. The story of a remote village in Mustang tries to replicate the success of ‘Kabaddi’ and is one of the awaited movies of the current time. The movie features Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, Nischal Basnet and Rishma Gurung in main roles. Actor Saugat Malla is a new addition to the characters to the ‘Kabaddi’ team. The romantic comedy movie is fully shot in Mustang. The movie is jointly produced by Nischal Basnet and Sunil Chand Rauniyar under Black Horse Pictures banner.

INAS Film Award 2015, winners (full list)

The third edition of INAS Film Award was held in Pragya Bhawan, Kamaladi in Kathmandu. The award ceremony held on Sunday awarded director Tulsi Ghimire with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award has has a cash prize of Rs. 100,000. The award ceremony was organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRN) and the Film Development Board (FDB). In the program, NRN Upendra Mahato appreciated in the improvement in the quality of Nepali movies. Actor and musician Muralidhar expressed his happiness to be honored in a Nepali film award ceremony.

Talakjung Vs Tulke one of the 81 movies waiting to be nominated in Oscars

The 81 entries in the Foreign-Language Film Oscar are finalized officially by the Academy Award officials. Among 81 countries, Paraguay is the only country that has sent its movie for the first time. The nomination of the 88th Academy Awards is scheduled to be announced on January 14, 2016. The winners will be announced on February 29 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

Among the contenders Nepali movie ‘Talakjung Vs Tulke’ by director Nischal Basnet will compete with 80 movies be be nominated in the contest. Winning would certainly be a feat, nomination is no less for the country like Nepal. The only time a movie with Nepal attached to it to be nominated was in 1999 for Eric Valli’s film ‘Himalaya’ in the 72nd Academy Awards.

The Oscars Nomination committee in Nepal had selected ‘Talakjung Vs Tulke’ from a pool of four movies to represent Nepal in the Awards.

Friday Release – Natiza

The new Nepali movie releasing this Friday, on October 9, 2015, is ‘Natiza’. The movie directed by Pramod Bhandari is only releasing in theaters in Kathmandu. The release of the movie in theaters out of Kathmandu was canceled in the last minute.

The movie features Harshika Shrestha, Sohit Manandhar, Sirjana Subba, Sushil Pokahrel and Sapan Shtrestha in main roles. The movie is made on the story of the struggle and problem in foreign employment. The presentation of Sapana Shrestha, ‘Natiza’ also features a song on the festival Dashain.

Congratulation Nisha Adhikari, Mount Kilimanjaro

Nisha celebrated her birthday (on October 4) while climbing the highest peak in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. She has successfully summited the 5756m peak in Tanzania and raised the Nepali flag on top of it and has returned back to Moshi to share the her photos at the peak.

In a Facebook message, Nisha wrote, “FINALLY!!! I summited ‪#‎Uhuru‬ peak at 7 a.m. There was no one around, just me and this gentle soul Abayay. My flag, camera and banners were in a bag pack with a guide and he was nowhere to be seen. We waited for about 15 min freezing and suddenly two figures appeared from the mist. I instantly asked the lady to take a pic of mine there. She wonderfully agreed! So there she was and her guide taking my picture. I thanked her and left as quickly as I could…” In the long message Nisha talks about meeting fellow mountaineers and the being a proud Nepali. In another post, she has expressed her happiness and the feeling of being proud to be able to live her dreams.
