The release date of Rejina Upreti‘s first movie as a director ‘Bardaan’, is changed after discussion with the film makers of ‘Rhythm’ and ‘Paltan’.
In mutual understanding, Rejina had agreed to delay the release of the movie by a week in Kathmandu. If the movie were released on March 8 it would have to be constrained to 9 theaters. After the delay, the movie will be screened in 25 theaters. The movie will however release on March 8 in 30 theaters out of Kathmandu.

Nepali movie ‘Katha’ was released in a theater in Sikkim, India. The movie directed by Prasant Rasaily (‘Acharya’ fame) was mainly shot in Sikkim and was released in the place first for that reason. It will be released in Nepal on March 22.

Nepali film ‘Jali Rumal’ is the presentation of Subhakamana Films. The guest actors in the movie include Prakash Thapa, Basundhara Bhusal, Santosh Pant and Raghu Pant. The script of the movie is written by the director Anish Koirala, action by Rajendra Khadgi, choreography by Basanta Shrestha, editing by Narendra Khadka, and cinematography by Chandra Prakash Ghimire. In addition to the music composition, Sambhujit Baskota has also written the story of the movie.

An upcoming Nepali movie ‘April Fool’ was censored in Censor Board and received an ‘A’ certificate – the movie only suitable for viewers of age greater than 16 years.
After postponing the release of the movie during the strike of film artists, Mausami Malla‘s movie ‘Samaya’ faced hurdles in the Censor Board at the time of it’s release. After negotiations on removing and editing objectionable movie scenes, the movie managed to get an ‘U’ certificate – suitable for the audience of all ages.
A much hyped Nepali movie, ‘Visa Girl’ is being released in DVD and VCD in a program held on February 23. The movie is made available for purchase in DVD stores by Hi Tech Entertainment starting February 24.
A new actress, Dipsikha Shahi has made a new record in Nepali movie industry by renaming herself twice in a month. That is a hat rick in name – from Dipsikha Shahi to Sikha Shahi to finally Darshan Shahi. The final name Darshan sounds much like a male name and we are afraid, it will also be changed to something else.
