Temporary residences named after movies

The temporary residences constructed by the help of Nepali film artists at Rampur Danda of Kabhrepalanchowk are handed over to the locals. The earthquake had destroyed about 40 houses in the area. On May 20 a group of Nepali film artists handed over the houses, named after popular Nepali movies, to the owners.

The team led by Suresh Darpan Pokharel in association of actress Keki Adhikari had constructed all 40 temporary residences in the last four days. The volunteer artists include Benisha Hamal, Surekshya Pant, Melina Manandhar, Barsha Siwakoti, Nandita KC, Dilip Rayamajhi, Jiwan Luitel, Anmol KC, Yashraj, Swotantra Pratap Shah and musician Basanta Sapkota had supported by volunteering and providing the financial resources to help in the construction of the buildings.

All the 40 houses are named after Nepali films including the first Nepali movie ‘Aama’ (watch ‘Aama’ here) to the relatively new movie ‘Sano Sansar’ (watch ‘Sano Sansar’ here). The naming of the house didn’t have any relationship to the producers of the movies.

Destination Kathmandu, last movie of Deepak Rayamajhi releasing on May 8

The last movie of late director, Deepak Rayamajhi, is releasing on May 8, almost four years after his death in 2011. The movie will compete with ‘Hostel Returns’, a sequel of hit movie ‘Hostel‘. Only eighty percent of the movie was complete at the time of his death. The assistant director, Madhu Sudhan Bhattarai, has completed the movie.

‘Destination Kathmandu’ features actors Dilip Rayamajhi, Saray Mawbey (Australian actress), Jharana Thapa and Suvekshya Thapa in leading roles. The movie features the cultural and traditional difference between Nepal and Australia. The movie is  produced by Sharad Adhkari. The script of the movie is written by Shivam Adhikari is is produced under the banner of Sunrise Group Entertainments and Janapukar Media House.

Bato Muniko Phool sequel to feature Arpan, Dillip, Richa, Ashishma, and Reema

The sequel of the popular film ‘Bato Muniko Phool’ is going to feature a lot of well known actors in the Nepali film industry. The male artists to be featured in the film are Arpan Thapa, Dilip Rayamajhi, and Baboo Bogati. It seems the actor Yash Kumar, of the first part will be missing in the sequel. The actresses to be featured in the film are Richa Sharma, Reema Bishwokarma, and Ashishma Nakarmi. The supporting actors are Subhadra Adhikari, Tika Pahadi and Ganesh Upreti.

In addition to the actors mentioned, actor will also be featured in cameo role, like the one in the first sequel. There is no mention of actress Rekha Thapa who was one of the actors in the original movie.

Logne Manchhe got U certificate, to release February 6

The movie featuring Dilip Rayamajhi and Nandita KC in leading roles, Nepali movie ‘Logne Manchhe’ has been awarded ‘U’ certificate by the Censor Board. The certificate opens the theater door to everybody to watch it. The film is releasing next week, on February 6, 2015.

The movie made on a love story is directed by Laya Sangraula. Although Laya Sangraula is a popular television serial director, ‘Logne Manchhe’ is his debut movie as a director of big screen movie.

The movie produced by Pradeep Mittal features a story of the struggle of a female character in the male dominated society. The film features the cinematography of Krishna Shrestha, choreography of Kabiraj Gahatraj, action of Roshan Shrestha and editing of Banish Shah. The film’s production concept is made by actor Uttam KC and the story is written by Laya Sangraula. The 2 hours and 5 minute long film is made under Bandhu Films banner.

Friday Release, Bidhuwa

This week, the only Nepali movie released in theater is ‘Bidhawa’ on December 26. The movie made on the socio-cultural issue of the life of a woman after the death of her husband is directed by Manoj Shrestha. Actress Sonu Ghimire is featured in leading role and other actors include Dilip Rayamajhi and the director Manoj Shrestha himself.

The movie with social message had organized various charity shows before finally being released in theater. The movie is told to have message that the so-called low-cast and single women should be honored. ‘Bidhawa’ is produced by Giri Prasad Sunar.

The story of the movie starts after 3 years of the previous one. Two animals featured in the movie are Rockey the dog and Raju the monkey.
