Rajesh Hamal debuted in a theater in Anup Baral’s Court Martial

For the first time in his acting career the top actor of Nepali movie industry, , has done a theater play. The play titled ‘Court Martial’ has started in Theater Village on Friday, November 22. The first show was done only for the press and will be open for the general public starting Saturday.

The play featuring  Rajesh Hamal, Dayahang Rai, Deeya Maskey, BS Rana, Karma, Subash Thapa and others is directed by Anup Baral. The play is written by an Indian writer, Swadesh Deepak, has been played for more than 4,000 times in four South Asian countries.

Vigilante – Movie Review

A milestone of Nepali film industry, ‘Vigilante’ is the first Nepali 3D movie in the 50-year long history of the industry. ‘Vigilante’ is produced by Aasma Films, the banner that produced the blockbuster movie ‘Chapali Height‘ last year. The movie features Priyanka Karki, Subash Thapa, Raj Ghimire, Menuka Pradhan, and Arjun Gurung in leading roles. The movie is directed by Dipendra K Khanal.

Story

‘Vigilante’ starts with a suicide scene of a groom on his marriage day – and, that is the mystery of the movie. As the movie advances, six friends are seen on a bike trip as a song of Sabin Rai is played on the background. As the advance toward an unmentioned destination, the six friends have a lot of fun and discussion. When one of the friends’ bike breaks down, their journey is halted in an evening. While staying in the house of Khatri in the way, two of them disappear in the forest. Other four to enter the forest to find their missing friends. One by one each of them disappear in the forest.

April 5 release – Vigilante 3D and Kisan

Two Nepali movies ‘Vigilante 3D’ and ‘Kisan’ are released in theater on Friday, April 5. The movie ‘Vigilante’ is the first Nepali movie made in 3D technology. Another release, ‘Kisan’ was completed 2010 but wasn’t released in theater.

The movie is presented by Basanta Kumar Shrestha and is made under the banner of Kaligandaki Cine Max. The movie features the music of Chetan Sapokota, cinematography of Raju KC and action of Roshan Shrestha.

Facebook – Movie Review

The movie produced by actress Jharana Thapa, ‘Facebook’ was released all over Nepal on Firday, September 7. The director, Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ has also written the suspense thriller movie.The movie related to the social networking site Facebook features Jharana Thapa, Swatantra Pratap Shah, , Sunil Thapa, and Subash Thapa in lead roles.

Story:
Facebook is a story of a girl named Sanskriti (Jharana Thapa) who falls in love with Yodin (Swatantra Pratap). Yodin, a rich NRI living in Singapore, knew Sanskriti in the social networking site, Facebook. After an online affair, Yodin flew back to Nepal to marry Sanskriti. In Nepal, Yodin’s uncle Harish (Sunil Thapa) sends them to a theatre to watch movie where Yodin was kidnaped by a gang. The police thought Harish was behind the kidnapping of Yodin. Kohi Mero officially marks the return of Jharana Bajracharya back into the Nepali silver screen. Also introduces Subash Thapa who has appeared in more than 10 of the Alok Nembang directed music videos.

Shot in 2K digital format, the budget of the movie is Rs 5.5 million. Kohi Mero is about four friends who go their own ways following certain philosophies and circumstances of life. Nembang says that the chemistry between these four is what makes this movie going.
