PM Khanal inducts 10 new ministers after Maoist pressure
Aug 2, 2011 @ 18:57
Despite strong objection from his party CPN-UML and from opposition parties, Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal inducted 10 new ministers—nine from UCPN-Maoist with its Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha leading the team as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister and one from Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum Nepal (MJF-N).
The prime minister’s move comes after the Maoists withdrew the bulk resignation of the other ministers while keeping the support to the government intact. On Saturday evening, Maoist Chairman Dahal had handed over group resignation letters of his party ministers to PM Khanal in order to exert pressure for the reshuffle with 24 new faces.
PM Khanal on Monday administered oath of office and secrecy to 10 new ministers amidst a special function at Presidential Palace at Shital Niwas. However, the prime minister has said that he would tender resignation if the Maoists failed expedite peace process within next 10 days.

Rabindra Shrestha, 50-year-old father of a college-age daughter and a minister in-office, eloped with a 22-year-old student in February. Dipak Bhattarai named him the Valentine Hero and I wrote about it in a post at that time.
After a long silence, the couple have re-surfaced as husband and wife. In the photo above, Supekchya has sported, red Sindoor, a sign of a married woman.
Before we argue if they have done something good for the society
, let’s evaluate some of the Facebook posts of Supekchya:
Although they had run away in February, Supekshya waited for more than two months to announce her marriage. On April 22, she changed her profile to married.
It seems, the marriage of Manisha Koirala with Samrat Dahal is not going to last long. Last time, Manisha posted about her intention of divorce in May. She has done it again – by posting a bit more sad and harsh message in Facebook. The message reads:
My husband has become my enemy. How much worst can it become for a women?
Last time, the difference between the couple was was patched when friends and families helped them to soothe the relationship wounds. Manisha clarified that it was a minor issue with her husband.

If an Ambassador can’t deal with a blogger, how can he deal with the foreign government?
The diplomatic height of Nepali Ambassador in France, Mohan Bikram Shrestha, is clearly seen by the way he dealt with a problem caused by Teej invitation.
Nepali Embassy in France organized a cultural program, Teej and invited people to participate in the program through the Embassy letter pad.
The problem – the wife of the Ambassador, Sajana Shrestha, signed the invitation instead of Ambassador. She shouldn’t have the authority to write in Embassy letter pad. Blogger friend in Dadhi Sapkota wrote about it in his blog.
The embassy should have realized the mistake and apologized. But, it didn’t. The response was more defensive and it tried to hide the mistake in their part:
A cartoon speaks volume! It lighten-up the mood, helps to make fun of some serious matter and brings smile in your face.
The creator however remains in the background and won’t be visible to the general public. So, here is the “Phalano guy” with his cartoon character looking at the cartoon Rajesh is making:
The first child of the unofficial marriage between Sanchita Luitel and Nikhil Upreti is born on August 21, 2011 at around 11 PM in Kathmandu. Although Nikhil Upreti and Sanchita had lived together for about a year in Mumbai, the marriage between the two is not official.
Nikhil Upreti has a one-year-old son with his first wife, Kopila Upreti, with whom he hasn’t divorced yet. Nikhil Upreti arrived in Kathmandu yesterday to meet Sanchita.
An advertisement in a local restaurant somewhere in Kathmandu is creative enough to address the timing and promotion of a product.
Yes, the handwritten advertisement doesn’t feature the beautiful handwriting. It is the most unprofessional advertisement you can find in the current time. The message is not a literary work. The sentence in itself isn’t correct.
But, the message is loud and clear!
Everybody say you should eat Kheer (a sweet rice) in Shrawan month (one of the Nepali months). Have you eaten it?
