Shree Krishana Shrestha and Sweta Khadka wedding date fixed – July 7

The date of the marriage of the love-birds of the Nepali film industry, Shree Krishna Shrestha and Sweta Khadka, has been fixed to be held on July 7, 2014.  That is almost a month after Shree Krishna and Sweta had confirmed the long-time rumor of their affair. Last year, the couple had hinted about the upcoming marriage but, it took almost a year before they fixed the date.

Shree Krishna debuted Sweta in his home production movie ‘Kaha Bhetiyala‘. The success of the movie paved way for the success of the love between them. They are also running a hotel business together and their second movie, ‘Kohinoor’ is also ready for the release.

NEFTA Award to be held in Hong Kong, Nomination announced (nomination list)

Like earlier years, the Nepal Film Technician Association (NEFTA) is going to organized this year’s award in in a foreign country – Hong Kong. In a program held in Yak and Yeti Hotel, Kathmandu the top 5 nominations for the contest were announced. The nomination list was prepared by the jury after watching 60 Nepali movies.

Out of 34 different award categories there are 3 each for actor and actresses. Best and Popular categories have virtually the same artists in the nominations. The organizers had also cut a cake for the success of the award ceremony. The top 5 nomination will be squeezed to top 3 nominations in a program to be held in Pokhara in a later date.

Film Artists Association honor Garima Pant and Joes Pandey

To honor and appreciate the success of ‘Jhola’ actress Garima Pant and ‘Sanghuro’ director Joes Pandey, Nepal Film Artists Association organized a program on June 23. In the program, the artists were honored by Special Honor Certificate.

Talking at the ceremony Garima Pant and Joes Pandey appreciated the honor provided by the organization. Garima told that the award she and Joes got was actually an award for the entire film industry. She said, the award has proven that our film industry is of international standard. She also appreciated the help of actress Laxmi Giri during the shooting of the movie.

Richa Singh Thakuri to marry a NRN on Ashad 6

Actress Richa Singh Thakuri is going to marry a NRN, Gajendra Raj Thapa, on this Friday (June 20, 2014). Thapa is a originally from Biratnagar. The marriage between Richa and Gajendra is being organized at Diyale Banquet in Basundhara.

Richa had been featured in more than a dozen movies. The notable moves of the actress include ‘Nai Nabhannu La’ and ‘Ma Timro Bhaisake’.

Rajesh Hamal Poem recital in Australia

Rajesh Hamal recently celebrated his 50th birthday and Silver Jubilee of his contribution to the Nepali film industry in Sydney, Australia. In the program recited a poem written on his own life.

Rajesh Hamal Silver Jubliee and birthday celebration in Adelaide, Australia

In an event organized by Nepali Touch Events, Nepali superstar was honored for his 25-years-long contribution to Nepali cinema. At that time, Hamal’s 50th birthday was also celebrated. The participants of the program wished best wishes to the superstar for his birthday.

The first day of a series of events was held in Adelaide, Australia on June 1, 2014. Singers Anju Pant and Rajesh Payal Rai are together with Rajesh in the event. (Checkout Anju Pant’s photo at Mount Lofty Botanic Garden). Singers Rai and Anju entertained the audience by popular songs.

Karishma Manandhar inaugurates Neelima’s Fashion Studio

A fashion house run by a notable fashion designer of Nepali film industry, Neelima, has be reopened on 30th May 2014, Friday at Alfa Beta Complex, New Baneshwor. The chief guest of the ceremony, Karishma Manandhar inaugurated the store by cutting a specially designed cake.

Speaking at the event, Neelima told that she wanted to make the event different by cutting a cake to inaugurate the store instead of cutting a ribbon. Here is a short video clip of of the event.

Richa Ghimire gave birth to the second son in USA

Actress Richa Ghimire and director Shankar Ghimire have become the proud parents of a newborn boy while living in the USA. The couple with their toddler son arrived in USA via Canada to show their movie ‘Tulsi’ and have remained there for some time.

The baby was born at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center on May 27, 2014 and was named Maharshi Ghimire. Naming of his big brother, Mizas, took the Ghimire couple months of searching.

A special program Megaevent 2014, being held on June 7 in Australia, is scheduled to appreciate and honor 25-years-long acting career of . The program featuring Rajesh Hamal, Rajesh Payal Rai and Anju Pant is going to be held in Tasmania, Launceston on June 7, 2014.

The program is scheduled to mark the birthday of British queen Elizabeth II. In the program, Rajesh Hamal will talk about his 25-years-long history in Nepali film industry. In addition to that Rajesh will also deliver some dialogues and dances in the program. In organizers will also celebrate the birthday of Rajesh Hamal.

Rajesh Hamal took his wife Madhu Bhattarai in his Nawalparasi home

A day after the marriage and Suhagrat in a resort in Dhulikhel, and his newly married wife, Madhu Bhattarai went to their ancestral home at Nawalparasi. The couple took a Buddha Air flight from Kathamndu to Chitwan and drove to their home in their car. In Nepali culture, a newly married wife enters the house after performing certain ritual. Rajesh performed such rituals at his home before taking his wife inside. A priest, Bishownath Gyawali performed the rituals before Madhu entered Rajesh’s ancestral home.

Rajesh told that he wanted Madhu to first enter his home in Nawalparasi before they start to live in their home in Kathmandu. In Kathmandu Hamal lives in a house in Kapurdhara, Kathmandu. There were no decorations or any signs of marriage in his Kathmandu residence.

MaHa Jatra 2071 starting on May 9

On Wednesday, May 7 a press meet was organized at Briks Café in Kupondole, Lalitpur to inform about MaHa Jatra 2071. The stage show of the popular comedy duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya is being organized after a long time.

In the press meet Rajaram Poudel and Kiran KC had proposed to term the duo the ‘Hasya Samrat’. In response, Haribansha told that they were content with the title ‘MaHa’ for now. He also told that it was Rajaram who had first called them MaHa during the stage show ‘Bigyapan’. After that, the duo is known as MaHa – a word meaning honey in Nepali.

Mukhauta audio launch, Nisha Adhikari defends use of foul language in movies
