The movie was also screened at the Shinokubo Film Festival in Japan in 2015. The actress Sangam Bista was awarded the best child artist at the NEFTA Film Award 2015. The movie ‘Dharma’ was promoted as the comeback movie of Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala. Manisha debuted in Nepali movie ‘Feri Bhetaula’ in 1989. But, the movie wasn’t as successful as expected. After that, Manisha went to Bollywood and established herself as the top actress. ‘Feri Bhetaula’ is not available online. The comeback movie ‘Dharma’ also failed to appeal the public. The movie introduces a new actor Samyog Pokharel.
The director of ‘Dharma’, Dipendra K Khanal directed a superhit movie ‘Pashupati Pradad’ last year. He is also the director of ‘Chapali Height’. Other artists in the movie are superstar Rajesh Hamal and action star Nikhil Upreti. This movie was made before Nikhil married Sanchita and left the film industry for five years. Nikhil has made a successful comeback and is busy in the film industry these days. Actress Anu Shah is also featured in the movie. Another actress Rejina Upreti was also a well known actress at the movie’s time. These days, Rejina has left the film industry after marrying her boyfriend. Rejina is expecting a child in November 2016.
‘Dharma’ Story:
The lead character, Rajesh Hamal is called ‘Dharmaa’ in the movie. Dharmaa is posted as the DFO of Kaliban after the poachers killed the previous DFO at the post. Dharmaa leaves his wife Gauri (Manisha Koirala) hat home with his brother Abhaya (Samyog Pokharel) and sister-in-law, Diya (Anu Shah). The poachers and the police in the Kaliban area had teamed up to smuggle the timber from the forest. Nikhil Upreti is featured as DSP Ajit Jung who investigate the incidents at the Kaliban. A presentation of MK Entertainment, the Nepali movie ‘Punarjanma’ is a story of an army officer. The movie written by Sudarshan Shrestha features cinematography of Shiva Dhakal / Nawaraj Krishna Thapa, action by Asta Maharjan, music by Basanta Sapkota / Jayant Sharma, background score by Alis Karki, and produced by Bhadra Bahadur Shahi. The movie was one of the top 10 movies released in the year 2071 according to the Box Office Club. Told to be based on a real story, the movie ‘Punarjanma’ was released in theater on March 6, 2015.
On the Christmas Day Nepali movie ‘Dhauli’ is going to release in the theaters out of Kathmandu. The movie will come to Kathmandu on the New Year day, January 1, 2016. The first look trailer of the movie was released in a program held in Kathmandu on December 13. In the press meet, the director told that ‘Dhauli’ team will present the pure organic Nepali taste.
The movie made in a rural setting featuring Bishnu Gautam and Gita Adhikari in the leading roles. Two posters released by the film team feature Bishnu and Gita in them. The movie is set in Bhurjung village in Kaski.
The actor Bishnu Gautam says that the movie also shows the desire of love in the people of feudal in nature. Gautam is a professor and he had also worked as a journalist. In the movie he is featured as the feudal landowner. The actress Gita Adhikari had previously worked in more than a quarter century feature films and telefilms.
Other main actors in the movie include Gajit Bista, Anu Shah, Prakash Ghimire, Shambhu Thapa and Bidhya Karki.
A movie made on the story of higher class and lower class citizen ‘Dhauli’ was premiered in Pokhara on Saturday, June 13. The movie featuring Gita Adhikari as the central Character, Dhauli, features the love story of her son, Bir (played by Gajit Bista) and Anjana (Anu Shah), a higher class girl.
The movie set in a village features and features village lifestyle. A lower caste woman, Dhauli, is working in a house of a higher caste owner, Kancho Shahu (played by Bishnu Gautam). Dhauli falls for Kancho Shahu and gets pregnant. When the affair is made public, Kancho was sent to the city and Dhauli was forced to leave the village.
The movie releasing this week on Friday, ‘Punarjanma’ was awarded an ‘U’ certificate by the Censor Board. The Board has asked the film makers to remove the scene of a traffic police being bribed.
UPDATE – The Minister of Communication has handed over the World Record certificate to Saugat Bista in a program held in Kathmandu. Congratulation 8-years-old director, Saugat Bista, you have made it (7 years at the time of release of the film)! The ‘Love you Baba’ director Saugat Bista is awarded the Gunnies World Record of being the youngest film director in the world. In the certificate, it is clearly written that Saugat is "The youngest director of a professionally made feature length film."
Although he was told to be 8-years old in the marketing materials of his film, it turns out that he was a few days shy of being 8-years old at the time of the release of his film. Saugat Bista was born on January 6, 2007 and was 7 years and 340 days when his film ‘Love You Baba’ was released in cinemas on December 12, 2014.
The directorial debut of the director Sajan Shrestha, Nepali movie ‘Punarjanma’ is scheduled to release in theater on March 6, 2015. In a press meet held in Kathmandu on February 10 the film production team informed the press about the content of the film and why the viewers would like to watch the movie.

The movie directed by journalist and actor Dinesh DC featured Rajesh and Karishma together after a long gap. Although the movie was highly anticipated, the viewers were not impressed by the movie. We posted a pre-release review of ‘Mayas’s Bar’. The movie was awarded various awards like D Cine Award and National Film Award. The film makers had thanked the artists Mohan Niraula, Dhiren Shakya, Raj Bhai Suwal, NB Maharjan, RP Bhattarai and Raju Thapa for their help in the film. The movie is a presentation fo Shree Ram Balaji Films. The child artist featured in the film, Rirendra Shrestha, is the world record holder for being the youngest photographer in Guinness Book of World Records.
