In an event held in Kathmandu today (October 4, 2010), Selina Moktan of Baneshowr was selected Miss Global 2010. In the crowd of beauty contest, Miss Global is a late entry with the first contest held this year. After winning the contest Moktan received Lifan motorbike and Rs. 20,000 in cash.
After winning the contest Moktan will represent Nepal in the Miss Global Queen International 2010 beauty contest to be held in China.

I was surprised to see a photo in today’s Nagariknews website, saying that our Deputy President was handing over a certificate to "The Youngest Singer". I expected her to be the 3-year-old Atithi KC, but the photo was of a teenager, Smriti Mishra.

The shooting of Dilip Rayamajhi’s movie “Miss U…” was recently completed in Malaysia. The director Suresh Darpan Pokharel and the film crew have recently returned back after 35 days of shooting there. Here are some of the photos of the shooting (Photo credits – Suresh Darpan).
One of the Namrata Shrestha was reportedly paid Rs. 400,000 for her role in the movie. In contrast to the general trend of paying higher to male actors in Nepali movies, the lead actor Barun Rana was told to receive only Rs. 125,000Â to lead the movie. The producer and one of the best dancer in the Nepali film industry, Dilip Rayamajhi, was also reported to make the movie a dance sensation.

The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Bijaya Kumar Gachhedar, UML leader KP Oli, Madan Krishna Shrestha, and Hari bamsha Acharya were some of the ‘lucky’ people to received the honorary PhD degree.
