The date of the marriage of the love-birds of the Nepali film industry, Shree Krishna Shrestha and Sweta Khadka, has been fixed to be held on July 7, 2014. That is almost a month after Shree Krishna and Sweta had confirmed the long-time rumor of their affair. Last year, the couple had hinted about the upcoming marriage but, it took almost a year before they fixed the date.

Shree Krishna debuted Sweta in his home production movie ‘Kaha Bhetiyala‘. The success of the movie paved way for the success of the love between them. They are also running a hotel business together and their second movie, ‘Kohinoor’ is also ready for the release.
The son of actor Bhuwan KC from his first wife, Bijaya KC, Vivek KC is getting married in the USA. Bhuwan is flying to the USA to attend the marriage ceremony to be held on July 4. Bhuwan’s first wife Bijaya has been living in the USA for a long time. Vivek KC is marrying another US resident girl, Natasha KC.
Bijaya and Bhuwan’s daughter Kajal KC was married in Nepal in 2011. The high profile marriage was attended by high level political leaders including the ex-king Gyanendra. Bhuwan had named his production company Kajal Films after his daughter.
Like earlier years, the Nepal Film Technician Association (NEFTA) is going to organized this year’s award in in a foreign country – Hong Kong. In a program held in Yak and Yeti Hotel, Kathmandu the top 5 nominations for the contest were announced. The nomination list was prepared by the jury after watching 60 Nepali movies.
Out of 34 different award categories there are 3 each for actor and actresses. Best and Popular categories have virtually the same artists in the nominations. The organizers had also cut a cake for the success of the award ceremony. The top 5 nomination will be squeezed to top 3 nominations in a program to be held in Pokhara in a later date.
To honor and appreciate the success of ‘Jhola’ actress Garima Pant and ‘Sanghuro’ director Joes Pandey, Nepal Film Artists Association organized a program on June 23. In the program, the artists were honored by Special Honor Certificate.

Talking at the ceremony Garima Pant and Joes Pandey appreciated the honor provided by the organization. Garima told that the award she and Joes got was actually an award for the entire film industry. She said, the award has proven that our film industry is of international standard. She also appreciated the help of actress Laxmi Giri during the shooting of the movie.

After getting married, Rajesh Hamal was pretty busy in programs in Australia and now, he had found time to spend quality time with his new wife, Madhu Bhattarai.

The shooting of upcoming movie of Shabir Shrestha, ‘Tathastu’ has started in MaHa Studio in Budhanilakantha. The movie is featuring actress Rekha Thapa in leading role. With Rekha, Kishor Khatiwada, Subash Thapa and Bigyan Joshi (new face) are going to be featured in leading roles in the movie. Shabir had announced the movie earlier this year.
Shabir Shrestha had worked in Rekha Films movies like ‘Kasle Choryo Mero Man’ and ‘Kali‘. This time, Shabir is producing ‘Tathashtu’ himself. The movie features the action of Roshan Shrestha, choreography of Ramji Lamichane and Kabiraj Gahatraj. Basanta Sapkota is the music composer, Babu Shrestha is behind camera, and Jagadishowr Thapa has written the script.
‘Mukhauta’ producer Rabin Shrestha has announced the sequel of the movie ‘Mukhauta 2’. Althought the movie released on June 13 couldn’t win the hearts of the viewers, Reef Entertainment has decided to make the sequel.
Based on the publicity and presence of well known actors in the movie, the movie was considered one of the most awaited movie. But, low turn in of the viewers in the theater came as a surprise. Negative reviews added in the failure of the movie.

The movie ‘Patachara’ is a movie based in a folk story based on Buddhist jataka stories. This is a story of the only daughter of a merchant, Dandas, living in Shrawasti. Being rich, Dandas could afford every luxury hid daughter desires. Although Dandas did everything to fulfill every desire of his daughter, she fells in love with Hisilani, a poor servant.
Nepali cricket player Sharad Vesawkar is the the talk of the town for his relationship with the actress Nisha Adhikari. These days, they are usually seen together in public functions. That is not all, Nisha even showed off a love-bite in a public function.
Vesawkar has told that he had known Nisha for the last 10 years and they are good friends. He says, their nearness is because of the friendship. Sharad also added, he likes Nepali movies and asked not to make up stories of his relationship with Nisha. Nisha hasn’t talked about Sharad yet.
A NGO that fights against child marriage and dowry system, BHORE, has appointed actress Garima Pant and Dr. CK Singh its Goodwill Ambassadors. Pant is currently working in a movie ‘Udaharan’, a movie to advocate empowering women and girl children.
As ambassadors, the actors will initiate campaign through interviews, press conferences and other similar campaigns.

In the final held on June 21 in Zee TV, 11-years old Nepali dancer Teriya Magar has become the DID L’il Master Season 3.
There were 40,000 applicants in the dance reality show in Zee TV. In the contest that run till the mid-night in Pune, India Teriya was awarded with Rs. 1 million cash and a car. Teriya’s father, who works in Dubai, had also taken an emergency leave to be present at the contest.
