Richa Singh Thakuri marries Gajendra Thapa (Photos)

Actress Richa Singh Thakuri has married Australian NRN Gajendra Thapa in an event held in Kathmandu on June 20, 2014 (as announced earlier). This is one more marriage of a Nepali celebrity in a long list of the marriages of celebrities this year.

A resident of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Gajendra had directed a music video featuring Richa Singh Thakuri in the start of 2013. The debut music video of Gajendra titled ‘Ko ho Timi …’ is considered the seed to germinate the love between Richa and Gajendra. Gajendra is a brother of Dhirendra Raj Thapa (‘Dhuwani’ fame).

Friday Release – Mission 4 Twenty and Kasto Tension

This week on Friday, June 21, two new Nepali movies have released in theater. Releasing movies at the time when the FIFA World Cup is running, is considered risky decision. On top of that, the movie released last week, ‘Mukhauta’ team have also accused FIFA World Cup being one of the reasons of low turn in in theaters. In that context, the risk movies ‘Mission 4 Twenty’ and ‘Kasto Tension’ have taken is considerable.

Both the movies are made on the story of the current day youths and targeted to young audience. And, they both feature hot actresses who are open to showing skin. Sushma Karki beaten in public by her boyfriend Niran

It is no secret that actress Sushma Karki is living with her boyfriend Niran. According to a latest incident, they don’t seem to be happy with each other.

While in a program in East Nepal, Niran had beaten Sushma Karki at backstage. The issue got so big that police had to intervene in solving the case. The reason for the issue is yet to be known.

They are not only boyfriend and girlfriend but, they are also business partner in a restaurant. Sushma and Naren had celebrated Sushma’s birthday in their restaurant. Sudarshan Gautam says he might marry Rekha Thapa

In an interview with DC Nepal, amputee Nepali actor Sudarshan Gautam has told that he can marry the actress Rekha Thapa. Sudarshan debuted as an actor in Rekha Films production Nepali movie ‘Himmatwali’.

Gautam, a resident of Canada, is currently in Nepal promoting his debut movie. He also climbed the Mt. Everest setting a world record of being the first person to climb the highest mountain with no hands.

Rajesh Hamal Poem recital in Australia

Harshika Shrestha participated in Mukhauta premier in spite of broken leg

Although actress Harshika Shrestha was injured during a shooting, and has a cast on one of her feet, she went to watch her movie ‘Mukhauta’ in the premier show held at Kumari hall on Thursday. Harshika was appreciated for the role she did in the movie.

Harishika broke her leg while shooting a movie named ‘Khatarnak’. The doctor had asked her to take a 3-weeks-long bed rest. Multi starrer movie ‘Mukauta’ also features Nisha Adhikari and a score of the top actors of Nepali film industry.

Bad timing of ‘Mukhauta’ release, World Cup stole the charm

Multi-starrer, huge publicity, big red-carpet premier – all these things didn’t help viewers to go to the theater to watch the movie ‘Mukhauta’. One of the most plausible reason – the date of the release and the start of once-in-four-years, FIFA World Cup happened at the same time.

The movie release date’s two weeks delay has been bad omen for the movie. In a report, the first day of release occupancy was only 30 percent. The reason a movie featuring well known artists like , Rabin Tamang, Sunil Thapa, Nisha Adhikari wasn’t attractive to the audience might be more than just the World Cup.

International Indigenous Film Festival starts in Kathmandu

3-days long International Indigenous Film Festival has started on June 12 in Assembly Hall, Kathmandu. Satya Mohan Joshi, an expert in history, inaugurated the 8th version of the festival by playing traditional musical instruments.

The first short movie to be featured in the festival was from Brazil, titled ‘Owner of the Water’. There are 12 movies, documentaries and music videos participating from Nepal. In total there are 36 films from 18 different countries including India, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Japan and Belgium.

The judges of the competition are experts from Japan, India and Nepal. The judge from Nepal is Anita Gurung, the Japanese judge is Nimo Guji Nawami and the Indian judge is G L Bharatdwaj. The best movie in the competition will win Rs. 15,000 and one producer will win Rs. 25,000.

On Friday, June 13 Nepali movie ‘Mukhauta’ is releasing in theater. The multi starrer gangster crime movie is written and directed by Arpan Thapa. The movie features , Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, Sunil Thapa, Rabin Tamang, Prashant Tamrakar, Nisha Adhikari, Harshika Shrestha, and Arpan Thapa.

The movie had been widely promoted and a red carpet premier of the movie was held in Kumari theater on Thursday. In the premier sponsored by Tata motors huge crowd was present to watch the movie. In the premier Arpan Thapa, Nisha Adhikari, Rabin Tamang, and Saugat Malla were present.
