Friday release, Sushma Karki movie ‘Paap’

A Sushma Karki starrer movie ‘Paap’ is being released in the theaters in Nepal on July 31, 2015. After the earthquake of April 24, the only new movie released on theater so far is ‘One Side Love’ on July 3 and ‘Jungabhumi’ on July 10.

Like previous mvoies of actress Sushma, ‘Paap’ is also made on sex psychology. The movie features Aayush Rijal, Sushma Karki, Samichhya Aryal and Dhruba Koirala in leading roles. The movie produced under Bindeshowri Cine Arts is a presentation of Bikash Sharma. The movie is directed by NR Ghimire.

Love You Baba and Sunkali to be screened in a film festival in Japan

The movie by the youngest director in the world, Saugat Bista, ‘Love You Baba’ is being selected in a Film festival in Japan. The festival titled Shinokubo Drama and Film Festival will start on August 15. The movie will be screened on August 16 and 20.

The festival will screen movies from 17 different countries including Korea, Japan, China, Singapore Thailand, Belgium and Nepal. With ‘Love You Baba’ another Nepali movie by Bhojraj Bhatt, ‘Sunkali’ will also be screened in the festival.

National Film Award, Kabaddi Best Film, Dayahang, Sangam Bista and Richa Sharma best actors

The president Ram Baran Yadav awarded the National Films Award 2015 in an even held at the President’s place, Shital Niwas, on July 28. In the ceremony ‘Kabaddi’ was awarded the Best Movie Award (watch ‘Kabaddi’ here). Actor Dayahang Rai was awarded the Best Actor (male) award for his role in the movie ‘Sambodhan’. Actress Richa Sharma and Sangam Bista  were awarded the Best Actress Award for their role in ‘Talakjung VS Tulke’ and ‘Love You Baba’ respectively.

Nischal Basnet was awarded the best director’s award for his work in ‘Talakjung VS Tulke’. The Best Cinematographer award was awarded to Shailendra Dhoj Karki for his work in ‘Zhigrana’ and Nimesh Shrestha was awarded the Best Editor award for the same movie. The movie ‘Matan’ was awarded the best movie in ethnic films category. ‘Kabaddi’ writers Rambabu Gurung and Upendra Subba were also awarded in the ceremony.

NFDC National Award nomination certificate handed over to the artists

The certificate of the nomination for the NFDC National Award was handed over in a ceremony held on Saturday in Kathmandu. In the ceremony, the artists selected for the nomination in 17 different categories were given the certificate of nomination by Minister Mindndra Rijal and FDB chielf Raj Kumar Rai.

The third edition of NFDC Film Award is scheduled to be held on September 12. In addition to making the announcement of the date of the award ceremony, the minister Rijal had also unveiled two songs of upcoming movie ‘Thamel dot Com’.

Rekha Thapa to return back to Nepal to start Rampyari

In a recent report, actress Rekha Thapa has ‘cut short’ her US travel to return back to Nepal on July 27. Rekha is returning back to start the shooting of her upcoming movie ‘Rampyari’.

In response to the cancelation of her scheduled visit to Malaysia, Rekha has told that she will not participate in any program organized to help earthquake victims. She also told that she has also canceled the Dubai program for the same reason.

Rekha has told that she had gone to the USA for fund raising for her foundation, Rekah Thapa Foundation. She has said that some organizations had invited her for fund raising programs in the USA. But, her statement is very suspicious as there were no news of any fund raising programs involving Rekha Thapa. Because of the secrecy and the controversial statements before going to the USA, a question was raised if Rekha will return back from the USA.

National Film Award to be held on July 28

The film award organized by the government, National Award is going to be held on July 28 at the residence of the president, Ram Baran Yadav. The award ceremony being organized by the Film Development Board (FDB) will award National Film Awards in eight different categories plus a Lifetime Achievement Award. 

The award value of Lifetime Achievement Award will be Rs. 351,111 and a trophy. Other awards will be awarded to the best film, best director, best actor (male), best actor (female), cinematographer, editor and best ethinic film.

Nare, special screening held in Pokhara

A special screening of upcoming movie ‘Nare’ was held in Pokhara on Saturday, July 18. Various personalities of Nepali film sector and journalists were present in the screening. The movie written and directed by Maotse Gurung features Narjung Gurung in leading roles.

‘Nare’ is a movie about the trend of Nepali, specially among Gurung community, to purchase Hong Kong ID for better future. The movie shows how general public are fooled by the greed to make a lot of money. The movie also features some of the real-life events of the actor Narjung. The movie was shot in Dhampus area in Pokhara and in Hong Kong . More than 90 percent of the movie was shot in Dhampus and remaining 10 percent in Hong Kong. The movie is produced by Hong Kong resident Nepali, Harka Gurung.

Dikpal Karki and Manjita KC replace Nikhil Upreti and Sanchita in Champion

The shooting of the upcoming movie ‘Champion’ has started in Kathmandu. The movie being made on the story of cricket player was initially supposed to feature Nikhil Upreti in leading role. We wrote about Nikhil and Sanchita Luitel to be featured together in the movie. Now, at the time of shooting, Nikhil couldn’t set aside the time for the movie and the film production team had to find another actor in his place.

According to the producer, Nikhil wasn’t familiar with cricket game and because of the promotion of his comeback movie ‘Bhairav’ he didn’t have enough time for cricket lesson. The production team has chosen ‘Rang Baijani’ debut actor Dikpal Karki to do the leading role. After being selected for the role, Dikpal has learnt and practice cricket for a long time.

Music video of Woda No. 6 released, features Priyanka Karki and Deepak

In an event held in Kathmandu, a music video of upcoming movie ‘Woda No. 6’ was released. The movie produced by Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula has Nirmal Sharma as the executive producer. The song titled ‘Wahiyat Love ….’ features Deepak Raj Giri and Priyanka Karki (attached at the end).

The movie scheduled to release on Ashoj 1 is made on comedy theme like their first super hit movie ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ (watch ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ here). The movie directed by Ujjwal Ghimire features Deepak Raj Giri, Priyanka Karki, Dayahang Rai, Sitaram Kattel, Kedar Ghimire, Jitu Nepal, Wilson Bikram Rai and others. In addition to Deepa, Deepak and Nirmal Sharma other comedy artists like Jitu Nepal, Kedar Ghimire, Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire have invested in the movie.

Will Darpan Chhaya sequel feature Dilip Rayamajhi ?

A sequel of the hit movie ‘Darpan Chhaya’ was announced a while ago. At the time of the announcement, the original duo – Dilip Rayamajhi and Uttam Pradhan was supposed to repeat again. But, after the news that Dilip Rayamajhi has obtained the US Green Card and is planning to head to the USA soon, there is a confusion if Dilip will be able to star in the movie.

The original ‘Darpan Chhaya’ had made a new record in terms of collection and popularity. Will the sequel re-create the history, only time will tell.

Bindaas 3 to release in Tihar, bed scenes to be the main attraction

The third sequel of the hot movie ‘Bindaas’ is scheduled to release in Tihar, on October 6 (Kartik 20). The shooting of the movie has recently completed and the first-look poster of the movie has been released as the movie goes into post-production. The movie directed by Raju KC features actress Suvekchya Thapa instead of the actress of the previous two sequels, Sushma Karki

Director Raju Giri is known for featuring hot scenes in movies and controversial relationship with movie actresses has also featured such scenes in ‘Bindaas 3’. The movie features actress Binu Khadka and Suvekchya in hot bed scenes.

Deepa Shree Niraula to direct Chha Bhane Maya Chhapakai Laideu

As the release date of the Deepak-Deepa-Niramal team’s production movie ‘Woda No. 6’ nears, the team has announced a new movie titled ‘Chha Bhane Maya Chhapakai Laideu’. One of the producers, comedy actress Deepa Shree Niraula is named the director of the movie. This will be the directorial debut movie of Deepa Shree.

Deepa was the assistant director to Dinesh DC in ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ (watch ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ here). She is also assistant to Deepak Raj Giri in the popular comedy serial, ‘Tito Satya’.

After the completion of the direction of the movie, Deepa Shree will be another of the few female movie directors of Nepali film industry. So far, only two directors, Samjhana Upreti Rauniyar and Deepa Basnet have directed their second movies recenlty.

Friday Release -Jungabhumi, post-earthquake release calendar

The release of new Nepali movies had halted right after the April 25 earthquake. Starting last week with the release of ‘One Side Love’, new Nepali movies have started to release in theaters. This Friday, on July 10, another Nepali movie ‘Jungbhumi’, featuring Biraj Bhatt, has released.

The movie, probably dubbed from Bhojpuri, features Biraj Bhatt with South Indian actress Rani Chhatarjee. The action movie is made on a story about love of parents. (Click here for the list of all the movies of Biraj Bhatt in xnepali)

Rekha Thapa remotely directed Rajesh Payal Rai song, from USA

Actress Rekha Thapa has been living in the USA for the last couple of months. There is no words on what she is doing or what her plans are. Her past statements indicate that she is planning to leave Nepal and live permanently in the USA.

In a latest report, Rekha has composed a song of her upcoming movie ‘Rampyari’ and has directed singer Rajesh Payal Rai from the USA. The recording of the song titled ‘Arko June Kunni Bhet Huni Ki Nahune …’ was recorded on the voice of Rai on July 7 in Musician Studio, Kathmandu.

Adhakatti to release with Chanke Shankhe Pankhe in Dashain

The release date of the movie directed by Subrat Acharya, ‘Adhakatti’ has been announced by the producer Pradeep K Uday. The movie will release on October 23 (Kartik 6) in Kathmandu and on October 20 (Kartik 3) in theaters out of Kathmandu. Various charity shows of the movie were held in Nepal and out of country recently. The item song of the movie ‘Timro Figure Coke Cola” had been quite popular among the public.

‘Adhakatti’ is a comedy movie featuring Ashishma Nakarmi, Rista Basnet, Gaurav Pahadi, Gajit Bista, Wilson Bikram Rai and Pradeep Bastola in main roles. Actress Namrata Shrestha is also featured in a special role in the movie. ‘Adhakatti’ was previously scheduled to release on May 22, on the birthday of Pradeep K Uday.
