Rekha's Skirts story and Hifajat (photos)

Rekha wants to be on the top of the news when her movie is in theaters. You can consider this as another ‘stunt’ of Rekha to promote the movie ‘Hifajat’. What would be more sexier way to promote a movie than talk about skirt … some sexy mini-skirts?

Rekha told that she loves Summer only due to the fact that skirts can only be worn in the season. Rekha also told that she uses her huge collection of skirts in her movies… like Hifajat.

According to Rajdhani Daily, “In Hifajat, Rekha wears nothing but skirts till the interval (half-way) of the movie,” Rajdhani adds, “Rekha had prepared 30 mini-skirts for the movie”. In addition to that Rekha wore 10 mini-skirts she brought from Japan recently. Rekha adds,  “I have worn 22 skirts in the movie”.  [I am not that good in maths, you have to figure-out how many she wore in the movie. Or, you can go to the theater to find out – that is what Rekha wants.]  Continue reading

Rekha Thapa and Hifajat got clean chit

The film produced and acted by Rekha Thapa, Hifajat, got into trouble when Vishow Hindu Mahasangh asked the authorities to stop its screening.

Many bloggers ‘cried foul’ on the intension of the protest as the dress worn by the actress in the movie doesn’t seem to harm the religion in any way.

When the producers and artists of the movie wrote letter explaining that the design of the dress was not intended to degrade the Hindu belief and it was purely used for commercial and entertainment purpose. The heads of the organization reviewed the movies and have decided to let the movie screen.

In a letter written to the producers, Mahamayaprasad Singh of the Hindu organization, told the producers not to repeat such mistakes again and told them to use the medium to promote the religion.

Is the ‘Curse of SAARC Summit’ true ?

South_Asian_Association_for_Regional_Cooperation 16th SAARC Convection is being held at Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. Looking back to its history there have been the record of one of the participating leader to face a bad fate after the summit. In the history of 15 Summits being held so far, 7 of the participants faced bad luck at home. To me, it looks more like a coincidence as the political scenario are pretty much dynamic and they are always changing.

With Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal visiting the 16th Summit, and volatile political environment in Kathmandu, many are expecting the history to repeat on his case.

Nikhil Upreti did dubbing of a movie in Mumbai

Nikhil is living with Sanchita Luitel, somewhere in Mumbai after the reported marriage. Nikhil Upreti is stil in wedlock while Sanchita is divorced from her first previous husband.

It looks like Nikhil is unwilling to come back to Kathmandu anytime soon. He had well prepared for such long absence by completing the films at hand and not signing any new movies. But, the fate is always unpredictable. The dubbing of one of the movie he did, were lost due to technical problem at the recording studio. Four reels of dubbing of a movie named ‘Masti’ were damaged.

The director of the movie, Madan Ghimire, waited for Nikhil’s return for a month. When he realized Nikhil is not coming back soon, he made arrangements for the dubbing to be held in Mumbai with the help of the producer, Dinesh Thapa, and in association with Prime Studio, the recording studio in Nepal. It is told that the recording completed in Mumbai, last week.

But, following questions are still unanswered :

  • How long will Nikhil and Sanchita run away from Nepal?
  • Is it the end of film career of Nikhil or Sanchita?
  • What will happen to Kopila and their 6 month old child?
  • Both Nikhil and Sanchita were previously married. If they are married together how long can they remain loyal to each other?

Don’t we have actresses in Nepal?

There are a lot of actresses and many models are opting acting as their ultimate career goal. But, the producer of ‘Dasdhunga’, Apil Bista, couldn’t find a single Nepali actress to act in his forthcoming movie ‘Namaste America’. Apil is currently in Mumbai in search of an actress who will look like a foreigner in his movie.

Does that mean we don’t have a pool of variety of actress to choose from? It is a fact, that we depend on a lot of things to foreigners… but, I never thought we would need an Indian actress to act in a Nepali movie. With beauty contests being held every now and then, there should actually be a lot of talented and versatile actress willing to start acting as their career.

A Nepali minister who was an Indian national

This is an old issue and I am not sure what happened afterwards. Does anybody know what the Supreme Court has ruled on the case?

It was UML’s minister for Local Development, Ram Chandra Jha, who was accused of being an Indian Citizen. The Nepali citizen certificate was found to be fake (as it was issued on Saturday, a government holiday).

Reports say that Mr. Jha is in possession of the Indian Residency Permit from Harlakhi area of Madhubani District, State of Bihar, India, issued on July 12, 2008, House Number 143. According to
the residency permit, Mr. Jha is an Indian national and his father Pulkit Jha too obviously is an Indian national.

Can Krisha Chaulagai’s Love affair sell Kasam Hajurko?

A movie named ‘Kasam Hajurko’ is going to be released all over Nepal soon.   I am not very much sure, but the producer, Krisha Chaulagai, of Kasam Hajurko also seems to follow another producer and actress, Rekha’s style of marketing. Like Rekha Thapa’s latest release, Hifajat, Krisha is releasing the movie all over Nepal. Rekha’s promotional stunts did actually helped Hifajat’s popularity (although the ‘yellow dress‘ controversy also helped in it).

Krisha says that she is heartbroken as her boyfriend, Ramraja Dahal, has left her before she could complete her movie. Ramraja is not only her boyfriend but also the director of the movie. He did complete the direction but when he didn’t show up for the editing and other after-shooting stuffs. Krisha told that she had to do the post-production stuffs all by herself.

Krisha met Ramraja before they planned to do the movie together and broke-up during the production. Krisha said, ‘Ramraja has broken my heart. But, I believe the viewers will not break my heart.’
