UPDATE: more photos and a photo slideshow video are added. It turned out, the engagement ceremony was in-fact marriage ceremony itself. The marriage was held in a room and the house wasn’t decorated from the outside. There was a family gathering in the evening. Mithila and Motilal also cut a wedding cake and fed each other during the ceremony. This was one of the many celebrity marriages of 2014.

Actress Mithila Sharma has finally married the former IGP Motilal Bohara. In an event held today, the new married couple also got the marriage certificate from the court.

Rajesh Hamal chartered a helicopter to participate in his hair dresser’s marriage

On the marriage of his hair dresser Surendra Thakur, actor Rajesh Hamal chartered a helicopter to his remote village in Sarlahi. The marriage held on Ashad 20 became special when the superstar of the Nepali film industry arrived in a helicopter.

Thakur and the villagers were very happy to see the superstar in the village. Rajesh offered a garland and congratulated the groom and the bride. A huge crowd was gathered to see the superstar and the helicopter.

Nai Nabhannu La 3 song recording started on Anubhav Regmi birthday

On the birthday of the child artist of ‘Nai Nabhannu La 2’, Anubhav Regmi, the song recording of the third sequel of the movie has started. The shooting of the movie is expected to start in a couple of months.

‘Nai Nabhannu La 3’ will repeat Anubhav Regmi as a lead actor. Sugyani Bhattarai will be featured in opposite to Anubhav. The director of the previous two movies, Bikash Acharya, is not going to direct the third sequel. Bikash’s assistant in the previous movie, Muskan Dhakal, is going to direct the new movie. The movie is produced by Bikash Acharya and Dinesh Pokharel.

Rekha Thapa accused National Award organizers of asking money for the award

In a statement actress Rekha Thapa has told that she had asked the organizers to honor herself. When they refused, she became the only winner of National Film to boycott the ceremony at the President’s residence.

Actress Rekha Thapa has accused the organizers of the National Award, Film Development Board, of asking money for the award. In addition to that she has also questioned the capability of the judges and the choice of winners. Here is the summary of Rekha’s statement.

Rekha didn’t know about the SAARC Film Festival. If she had known, she would also have participated and might even have won awards.
Garima Pant was considered a bad actress until she won SAARC award. If she won the award who became the second?
She doesn’t know any Nepali movies participating the SAARC film festival beside ‘Sanghuro’ and ‘Jhola’.
‘Rhythm’ can’t be a best movie. The lead actor in ‘Rhythm’ is Jiwan Luitel not Wilson Bikram Rai who had won the best actor award for the movie.
Lead actress in ‘Masan’ is Keki Adhikari not the winner of the best actress Neeta Dhungana . Keki, Priyanka Karki or Richa Sharma are better actress than Neeta.
Wilson Bikram Rai and Neeta have no contribution to Nepali film industry when compared to Rekha Thapa or Rajesh Hamal.
The jury is incompetent judges. Prakash Subedi, a half-hour-filmy program host doesn’t qualify to be a judge. Story writer Dhurba Chandra Gautam can’t judge acting.
Jharana Thapa and Sunil Kumar Thapa are close to Pappu. That is the reason she won an award. In the past she used to win awards in Negative role for the same movie.
Rekha knew about the final result. She had told the organizers to honor the contribution of Rekha Thapa and Rajesh Hamal. The organizers had asked money for awards.
The communication minister had influenced to award Garima Pant for the year 2070.
The award ceremony is a play of money and love-relationships.
Rekha’s film ‘Kali‘ wasn’t in the competition.

We believe, these are very serious accusations.

The President distributed National Film Awards (winners list)

The National Film Award was held at the President’s residence, Shital Niwas. In the ceremony various awards were handed over to the movies released in the last four years.

After receiving the award of Best Actress for her role in ‘Masan’ Neeta Dhungana said, "National Award is not about nominations , popularity , lead role , or something its totally about the work that an artist does whether the artist has done side role or main role , 5 scenes or 50 scenes."

Binita Baral and Dhurmus appointed goodwill ambassadors

Nir Shah, health update

The condition of Nir Shah hasn’t improved in more than a day of admitted in Gangalal Heart Hospital, Bansbari. According to sources, Shah was initially placed in a ventilator in CCU. The ventilator was later replaced by an oxygen mask. The attempt to remove oxygen mask however wasn’t successful and he is in critical condition. Yesterday, we reported it was a minor attack but later, it was known that that wasn’t the case.

According to the doctors attending Shah, they are waiting the situation to improve on its own and have let Shah remain unconscious. If it doesn’t improve in three days, further treatment will be conducted. Senior heart specialist Arun Maskey is helping the treatment of Shah.

Nir Shah hospitalized after a minor heart problem

Nepali actor, director, and a businessman Nir Shah has been admitted to hospital after a heart problem. Our sources have termed the heart problem as a ‘minor’ case.

He was admitted to Gangalal Heart Hospital in Kathmandu on June 28.

In January last year, Nir Shah announced retirement. We questioned his retirement at that time and as we expected he didn’t retire. He has recently completed the shooting of ‘Seto Bagh’ – a movie and a television serial simultaneously.

This Friday, June 27, 2014, two new Nepali movies ‘Pathashala’ and ‘Lawarish’ are releasing in theater. The rainy season and Ashad work season is not considered the best time for the release of new movies. So, low budget movies are usually release at this time of the year.

The movie directed by Rajbahadur Sane and produced by Arun Khadka and Keshav Ghimire is released in theaters in Kathmandu. The movie was previously released in theaters out of Kathmandu. ‘Pathshala’ features the music of Bikash Chaudhary, cinematography of Machhya narayan Shrestha, choreography of Bibek Thapa and action of Briendra Sony. The movie features Birendra Yadav, Raj Bautam, Sangita BC, Menaka Giri, Raj Gautam etc. in main roles.

Shabir Shrestha celebrated birthday at the set of Tathastu

The ‘Tathastu’ director Shabir Shrestha celebrated his birthday at the sets of the movie. The movie currently on floor features actress Rekha Thapa in lead role.
