Actress Shobita Simkhada and media-person Nirajan Bhandari had married in May. The marriage was a low-profile event – without parties and celebrations. The couple had promised to spend all the money required to do a "Normal" type of marriage to social causes.
And, they have kept the promise! Two schools in Gumdi of Dhading district will be receiving life-long support from the new couple.
Kantipur quotes that they will pay the cost of the education of Radhika Mijar of grade 3 and Biraj Sunar of class 1 in Kalika Devi Primary School. Similarly, they will also provide the cost of education of Sun Bahadur Gurung (Grade 10), Sunita Basnet and Shova Nepali (Grade 9), Tika Maya Mijar (Grade 8), and Roshan Shrestha of Grade 4 in Tamakharka Higher Secondary school.
The total cost of support will be Rs. 50,000 per year. They might also support two students in plus two in the future.

The actor and director Nir Shah has started making an art movie, based on the story of late Gopalprasad Rimal’s story "Masan". Gopal Prasad is a noted poet and playwright who ushered in a new era in Nepali literature. The drama, Masan is also taught as one of the electives in schools in Nepal and India.
The shooting of the movie has started on Ashad 1, 2068. Nir Shah had been preparing the set, representing the old setting of the story, for the movie.
Ratna Singh Dangol is the husband of Bhuwan’s ‘latest girlfriend’, Sharmila Dangol. It was a huge sensation when Ratna beat Bhuwan KC on the road in Koteshowr for snatching his wife.

Model/actress Namrata Shrestha wants to do some social activities on the occasion of her birthday. This is her 25th birthday. Actually, it was on Tuesday but she planned to celebrate it formally only on Wednesday.
"I will spend some time in an Aashram (holy shrine). Then, I will celebrate it with my friends in my own way", she said.
From the very early morning on Tuesday her friends and fans had sent her various birthday messages. "I guess, I received more than fifty messages ",she said. She also threw a small party on that day.

Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan has said that, he had almost completed his biography. He said, the biography will be published after the final editing.
The biography titled, ‘Twenty years in a Decade‘ covers his life period from 1991 to 2001.
‘I have written this book for fun, positive thinking, and optimism. I have been writing it for the last ten years. I have written my life in humorous manner’, he said.
Indian director Onir appeared happy during an interaction held in Gurukul, Kathmandu, after the special screening of his movie, I AM. A day earlier the movie was screened in Rastriya Naachghar.

Former Indian Idol Prashant Tamang arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday, for two days. He is here for the publicity for his upcoming film, “Angaalo Yo Maya Ko“. The movie is his second film after “Gorkha Paltan“. Gorkha Paltan was a big hit of last year.
The director of the movie, Binod Sereng, is hopeful that the film will be a hit like Gorkha Paltan. He said, “There is plus point in Prashant’s image as well as the film is of high quality in it’s presentation and technology”. Model Harshika shrestha has debuted as an actress in this film.
Cinema is considered to be a world of dream. Somehow, the dream of a film writer is displayed on the screen with the help of casting and its crew member. This is done by an active director and a producer who too have a sketch of dream in their, mind related with the film story. Leaving some exceptional cases, most of the films are developed with fictitious subject .That’s why it is told: “The characters and incidents of this film is fictitious. If they match with anyone’s life it will be just a coincidence”.
But, how should we define it if same story matches with the story of the main lead in the film? Will it be just a coincidence or can we say it was destined?
Well, I am talking about a film, recently released in Kathmandu valley, named Chhodi gaye paap laglaa. Sanchita Luitel is the lead actress in the movie produced by Keshav Bhattrai. It might be just a coincidence, but he character of Sanchita in the movie seems similar with her real life. Now, lets talk about the story of the film and the real story of Sanchita, to see how it seems similar with each other.

According to the movie, Sanchita belongs to an upper class family and she likes Nagendra, a resident of Pokhara .She decided to leave her home to marry Nagendra and live with him in Pokhara, against the will of her family.
But, after living with Nagendra, she found him to be different from what she had believed and imagined about, before marriage. Then, a new guy enters in her life, named Raj. But, Raj too was already reserved, having another girl in his life. Even after knowing the reality, Sanchita couldn’t stop herself from loving Raj. On the other hand, Raj is struck in a huge confusion on choosing between Sanchita and Richa. At the very end of the film, Sanchita becomes successful to make Raj her husband, and she starts her new life.
Real Life of Sanchita
Similar to the story of the film, Sanchita too belongs to an upper class family.The actress of “Apsara” met Aakash Shah during the shooting of ” Bhannai Sakina” and she fell in love with him. In the similar manner to the movie, her family was against Sanchita’s decision to marry Aakash. But, Sanchita married without their permission. However, their married life dragged them into problems and they got separated after some time. After the divorce she remained alone until she met an actor, Nikhil Upreti. Nikhil was already married to Kopila. But, even after knowing the reality, she eloped with Nikhil. Now, she is pregnant with Nikhil’s child.
In this way, the story and characters of the movie and real story of Sanchita seem quite similar to each other. Is it just a coincidence or a destiny? At the time of the original release of the movie, in 2066 BS, the affair between Sanchita and Nikhil was not made public.
Binita made news when film producer Krisha Chaulgai refused to honor the agreement made with Binita to do the leading role in the film named Ke ma timro saathi banna sakchhu. In response Binita has taken the issue to various media outlets. One online magazine published about Binita threatening to commit suicide if her agreement was not honored.
The names in the title are all of one person – the model popularly known as Kohinoor Singh. An online magazine has has unearthed that she is currently married to the member of one of the prominent business groups in Nepal – Shankar Group.
Deepa Singh by birth to the Indian father and Nepali mother, changed her name to Kohinoor Singh to start a career as a model. I wrote about Sweta Lamichane back in Februry of 2010. It is good to see the beautiful lady featured in this week’s Saptahik weekly. But apparently, Sweta is not too much happy about the portraying of her as the ‘Hollywood star’ in the article.
Sweta’s clarification in her own words:
Since I can’t read Nepali, I had to have someone else read the Saptahik to me. I would like to clear up a few mistakes that were made.
Yes, I am a working actress, but I’m not a huge Hollywood star. I have done a few movies, commercials, and television shows. In fact, I did all of my training in Hollywood, got my SAG eligibility, and then moved away. It wasn’t until I moved that I started to book bigger roles. All of the movies that I have speaking roles in are independent films. These films only go to film festivals and you can’t find them on the shelves. Currently I’m working on a web series, I’ve completed three movies (will only appear in film festivals), and I’ve done a direct TV commercial campaign. I’m also in school for esthetics and make-up artistry. In addition, I’m recoding an album that will release at the end of this year. Thank you time and attention and Thanks for all the support!

The actress Sanchita Luitel, who ran away with a married (not divorced) actor Nikhil Upreti to Mumbai and lived together for about a year has come back to Nepal after she got pregnant. She was told to be living in Nikhil’s village home in remote place of Sarlahi. Now, moviesnepal.com reports that she has come to Kathmandu and is proudly showing off her swollen belly.
There was no formal marriage ceremony between Sanchita and Nikhil. In contrast to Nikhil who told about his secret marriage to Sanchita, Nikhil’s wife Kopila Upreti had repeatedly denied the marriage between Nikhil and Sanchita.
But, it is an open secret that they had lived together for more than a year in Mumbai. In Mumbai, she had tried to get in the Indian movie industry without any success.
