Ashishma Nakarmi to produce Laakhey Bhaju, another actress debuts as producer

It seems every actresses are producing movies these days. After Rekha Thapa, Jharana Thapa, Shilpa Pokharel, Richa Sharma, Namrata Shrestha, Nisha Adhikari, Deepa Shree Niraula and so on, another actress has decided to produce a movie – Ashishma Nakarmi. Ashishma is producing a Newari Language movie titled ‘Laakhey Bhaju’. The movie was announced in a program held in Kathmandu.

The movie to be made on the popular dance in Newar community – Lakhe dance. The movie is made on the story of a love story of a Lakhe dancer. Ashishma will be the lead actress in the movie. With Ashishma, Sohit Manandhar, Madandas Shrestha, Nagina Joshi and Krishna Bhakta Maharjan will be the main actors. The movie is presented by Ashishma and is produced jointly by Narendra Maharjan, Gopal Kaji Kayastha, Chij Kumar Shrestha, Sundar Rajbhandari and Deepak Shrestha.

Ramesh Upreti movie, Aishwarya trailer review

The teaser and first look posters of the movie by well known actor Ramesh Upreti, ‘Aishwarya’ has received positive reviews. The movie features Ramesh Upreti, Deepika Prasain and Prashanta Tamrakar in leading roles.

The actor and producer Ramesh Upreti had told that he has used some new experiments in the movie. In addition to the three leading actors, the movie also features Keki Adhikari, Nirmal Sharma and Arjun Sharma. The script is written by the director Diwakar Bhattarai.

Pradeep Khadka bodyguards show-off, wannabe Anmol KC?

Anmol KC made news when he appeared with two bodyguards when he visited film-halls during the release of his movie ‘Dreams’. It is not clear if the extra security was necessary or was only a publicity stunt. One thing is for sure, other actors are also following Anmol KC for the sake of publicity.

Being covered by bodyguards in film halls makes sense. It is not easy for the artists to deal with the crowd. That was seen during the release of ‘A Mero Hajur 2’. The six bodyguards had hard time protecting the actors Salinman Baniya, Samragyee RL Shah and Salon Basnet.

Rekha Thapa, Aryan Sigdel starrer Rudra Priya trailer

After 8 years, actress Rekha Thapa and Aryan Sigdel have teamed up to be featured together in upcoming movie ‘Rudra Priya’. The movie director by Sudeep Bhupal Singh is produced by Ramesh MK Poudel as an executive producer. Rekha Thapa’s mother Saraswoti Thapa is named the producer of the movie.

Like all her previous movies, the upcoming movie is also told to be female-oriented movie. It features love, romance, and action. Before the trailer, a song of the movie ‘Chirbir Chirbir Chachari …’ was released. The song featuring the voice of the muisc of Rajan Ishan was liked by the viewers.

Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu 2 announced, Pooja and Paul in lead roles

It is supposed to be the third sequel of ‘Prem Geet’ although it is named ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu 2’. The sequel of hit film ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu’ was announced on the birthday of the director Sudarshan Thapa, held on Wednesday. In addition to the sequel he also announced another unnamed movie to be produced after the movie.

In the sequel, the artists Pooja Sharma, Paul Shah and Salon Basnet will be repeated in the leading role. During the announcement Sudarshan told, that the movie is being made on the demand of the viewers. The script of the movie is being written by Sudarshan Thapa in association with Samipya Raj Timilsina.

After the completion of the shooting of the sequel, the team of Sudarshan will start the shooting of another movie. The star cast of both the movies will be the same – Pooja, Paul and Salon. The next movie will be a dance-themed movie.

Thapa told that the shooting of ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu 2’ will start in Magh. The untitled movie will start after the completion of the sequel. Both the movies are scheduled to released in the next year.

Friday Release – Dui Rupaiyan

Highly awaited movie ‘2 Rupaiyan’ was the sole release on Friday, September 8, 2017. The movie known for the song ‘Kutuma Kutu’ is expected to be liked by the viewers. The movie is released at the time last week’s release ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ is doing a good business in theatre.

About ‘2 Rupaiyan’

The movie made on G21 Pictures and Black Horse Pictures banners is produced jointly by Asif Shah and Nischal Basnet. Directed by Asif Shah, the movie feature two producers in leading roles. In addition to the producers and director it also features Buddhi Tamang, Rabindra Jha, Rajan Ishan, Menuka Pradhan and Pratik Raj Neupane. Nischal’s wife, actress Swastima Khadka is featured in the well received song ‘Kutuma Kutu’.

The movie is made on a story of a relatively worthless currency note of Rs. 2 in the transaction of a huge sum of currency. The crime story features action and comedy as the selling point.

Chhakka Panja 2 Trailer review, will it be as successful as Chhakka Panja?

One of the most awaited movie of the year, ‘Chhakka Panja 2’ has released the first trailer. The trailer was released as per the schedule recommended by an astrologer. The astrologer, Bushesh Thapa, had told the producers to release the trailer at 6:05 and 2 seconds for the best response.

The movie made on comedy theme is the fourth movie after the hat trick in successful comedy movies by the comedy duo- Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula. The movie scheduled to release on the Fulpati of Dashain (Ashoj 11) features a lot of well known actors in it. The movie team had released two songs in the past – both of which were very successful in terms of viewership. They had also gone through bitter controversies.

The movie features Deepak Raj Giri, Priyanka Karki, Kedar Ghimire, Jitu Nepal, Shiva Hari Poudel, Buddhi Tamang, Barsha Raut, Sworoop Purush Dhakal, Swastima Khadka, Gaurav Pahadi and others. Friday Release – A Mero Hajur 2

The sequel of hit movie, ‘A Mero Hajur’, titled ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ was released in theatres all over Nepal on Friday, September 1, 2017. The movie featuring Samragyee RL Shah and Salinman Baniya marks the debut of actress Jharana Thapa as a film director. Produced by Jharana’s husband, Sunil Kumar Thapa, the movie is made under Suhana Films banner.

The movie producers held a premier show of the movie on Thursday. The viewers in the show had given positive response in terms of the acting of the artists and the story. With Samragyee and Salinman, other artists in the movie include Salon Basnet, Amar Subedi, Suman Poudel and others.

Nempa Film Awards 2017, another film award in the USA (nominations)

After Global Films Award 2017 held a while ago, another Nepali film award is scheduled to be held on September 17. The award by Nepal Chalchitra Sangh, top 3 nominations were recently released. The award ceremony is scheduled to be held at Dallas, Texas.

A total of 45 movies, about half of the movies released last year, had applied to participate in the award. The nominations were prepared by evaluating the application. Trailer review – Leela

The first look trailer of upcoming movie ‘Leela’ is released in YouTube recently. The trailer of the ex-Miss Nepal, Malina Joshi starrer movie is liked by the viewers. Directed by Ramesh Koirala, the movie is shot in various locations in East Nepal and parts of India including Sikkim and Darjeeling. Four new Nepali movies are released on Friday August 25, 2017. The movies have tried to benefit from the Teej holidays. After Dashain and Tihar, the third biggest festival in Nepal Teej is also considered one of the best time to release movies in Nepal. The movie by Gobinda Gautam, ‘Scout’, by Praladh Gurung, ‘Desh Khojdai Jaanda’, Bijaya Kerung’s ‘Hami Saranarthi’ and Jayakishan Basnet’s ‘Dhoom 2’ are the new releases this week.

About ‘Scout’

A movie featuring actress Garima Panta with Nawaraj Shrestha features Kusha Thapa, Madhukumar Shretha, Sanjay Shrestha etc. The movie features the music of Basanta Sapkota. The movie also marks the debut of the actress of popular tv serial ‘Bhadragol’ – Rakshya Shrestha. The movie is about the story of the youths who have joined scout and their lives.

Award Joke – Anmol KC and Keki win best actors awards in the USA

Another Nepali film award was held in the USA – titled Global Nepali Film Award. It was the second edition of the award. Like other awards held in Europe and USA, many film artists were denied visa. Those who had previous visa to the USA and those who got visa this year participated and won the awards. Such award winning actors include Anmol KC who got the visa this time. Actor Dayahang Rai and others were denied visa and didn’t become “best actors”. Similarly, actress Keki Adhikari was awarded Best Actress for her role in ‘Love Sasha’.

‘Chhakka Panja’ was awarded the Best Film award. Actress and director Deepa Shree Niraula became the best director for the movie. Actor Tika Pahadi was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Others awarded the Achievement Awards include Arjun Jung Shahi and Suwarna Chhetri.

Friday Release – Gangster Blues and Bhuimanchhe

Two new movie are being released in theatre on Friday, August 18,2017. Hemraj BC directed ‘Gangster Blues’ and Ramesh Budhithoki directed ‘Bhuimanchhe’ are competing to attract viewers in theatre. In the premier shows held recently, both movies had received positive reviews from the viewers.

Finally, after long delays, Summer Love shooting starts

After numerous delays and hurdles, the shooting of the movie based on a popular novel by Subin Bhattarai, ‘Summer Love’ has started. The movie is expected to complete shooting in two months. The movie is going to introduce a well known personality in India in Nepali film industry – Rewati Chhetri. Rewati is one of the finalists of Miss India 2015. She had also won the Miss Popular and Miss Multimedia awards in the contest.

A summery of the movie’s history

  • 2013 – The novel was released in 2013. The novel was widely promoted and it became an instant hit. His book was reviewed by celebrities like Miss Nepal 2002 Malvika Subba and Miss Nepal 1997 Jharana Bajracharya. The book cover featured Prinsha Shrestha – the dethroned Miss Nepal Earth 2014.
  • 2015, June – The movie was initially announced more than 2 years ago. ‘Nai Nabhannu La’ producer Bikash Acharya had agreed to produce it. (announcement news)
  • 2016, April – ‘Dreams’ actress Samragyee RL Shah agreed to act in the movie, verbally (Samragyee in the movie).
  • 2016, August – After the success of her debut movie, Samragyee’s rate went up and the film producers didn’t want to pay the high price. (In Search of cheap actress)
  • 2016 – The film team started searching for the lead actress in the movie in Nepal and Australia. But, the effort was fruitless.
  • 2017, March – Rewati Chhetri announced to be the actress. Ashish Piya was signed in to play opposite to Rewati. Other artists were yet to be finalized at the time. Later, Namrata Sapkota was also announced to be featured in the movie. (Rewati and Ashish in the movie)

Fateko Jutta suspense in first look poster, too mild for anybody to care

The first look poster of upcoming movie ‘Fateko Jutta’ indicates that the movie is a suspense thriller. The movie dierected by Nikesh Khadka features Saugat Malla, Priyanka Karki, Kameshowr Chaurasiya and Buddhi Tamang in main roles. The dark comedy movie was initially scheduled to release on Bhadra 23 but, the release date was delayed to Kartik 17 (November 3, 2017).

Produced by the ‘Chapali Height’ franchise producer, Arjun Kumar, the movie is made under the banner Arjun Kumar Films in association with Highlights Nepal and Popcorn Pictures.

Fateko Jutta Poster

In the first look poster, a person is shown standing with his hand on the hip. There is no indication on who the person is because the upper portion of the photo is cropped. Wearing torn shoes and a dhoti, there are empty bottles lying around on the floor. There is a jute sack with something inside it. It looks like the person is closely guarding the jute bag.

Although the poster has been successful in creating a little bit suspense, the design however can’t be considered attractive. The level of suspense is also very mild as it doesn’t raise the curiosity level about either who the guy might be or, what might be in the jute bag. While looking at the poster, one doesn’t care much about the identity of the person of the the content in the bag because there is no addition information about them.
