Good new girls, Sabin Shrestha is available! He has recently broken up with his air hostess girlfriend, Namrata Jha. According to a weekly newspaper, the 8-years-long affair was ended on mutual understanding. Although the couple was engaged to get married three years ago in 2067 BS they didn’t get married.
On the aftermath of breakup Sabin has accused that Namrata was interfering in his professional life. Namrata has accused Sabin of seeing other girls. Sabin told that Namrata had accused him of seeing co-stars.
When the release of two other movies ‘Himmat 2’ and ‘Dristikod’ were postponed, ‘Badhashala’ has become the solo release on the Friday, April 19.
The movie is made on the torture at Bhairavnath army barrack by Nepal Army during Maoist civil war. Nepal Army had objected the use of the dress of army in the movie without prior approval and had asked the government to ban the movie. The film makers had protested the ban and the movie release was postponed for more than a month. After the protest from film makers and human right activists and others the movie was censored and some scenes were removed before allowing it to release.
In 2069 more than twice the amount of movies were made when compared to movies released in 2068. There were 116 movies released in the year 2069. That is almost equivalent to one movie releasing every three days.

You can see, Ashad had the highest number of the release of new movies – 16 movies. Bhadra had 13 new releases. This is a huge increased when compared with the chart we posted last year.
Ex-Miss Nepal model and actress Jharana Bajracharya has started offering mediation class in Kathmandu. The medication course titled "J’s Meditation – discover the space within" is being organized jointly by Jharana and her mother Lalana Bajracharya.
In past, Jharana had trained herself in meditation. Jharana’s interest in meditation started when she participated in Vipassana mediation in 1997. In 2011 She had spent five months in Amaravati and Chhitaviveka monasteries in England. The actress Jharana is also a painter and potter and she holds a degree in sociology.
It seems, Nepali film makers have decided that poster plagiarism is one of the marketing strategies. Although morphing of posters are criticized by almost everybody, remotely interested in Nepali movies, more and more movies are repeating the same thing.
The last movie we wrote about such poster copy was of ‘Wrong Way’, posted less than two weeks ago. Our readers, who otherwise wouldn’t know about the movie at least knew that the movie features Jiya KC and is being made.
We guess, the producers of ‘Producer’ knew about the free publicity and have released their own copy-paste poster. And, we fell for them and are posting their poster with the original (Shim Ant shared it in our Facebook page.) The photoshoped copy of the poster of an Alex Gibney’s film ‘Casino Jack and the United States of Money’ is made by adding a six Nepali faces in it.
A 3-days-long short film festival is being organized in Kathmandu by ChayaChhabi Creation. The festival starting on Friday in Mandala Theater will wrap up on the new year, Baisakh 1 (April 16) after featuring 49 short films and documentaries.
The entry in the Kathmandu Short Film Festa-2013 costs Rs. 50 and the students get a 50 percent discount. The festa will feature short films ranging from 5-minutes to 45-minutes in length. Some of the noted short films to be featured in the festival are : ‘Adikavi Bhanubhakta’, ‘Kathmandu’, ‘ Katha Ek Raat Ko’ etc.
Movies are usually premiered in theaters and hotels but, this time, a movie is premiered in a most unusual place, a jail. Rekha Thapa‘s upcoming movie, ‘Hamesha’ was premiered among 600 convicted criminals in the jail in Dillibazar. Nepali Congress leader Khum Bahadur Khadka who is serving his jail terms was also among the viewers.
At the time of welcoming the new year 2070 BS, let’s talk about the most talked about actresses in the year 2069. Actress Rekha Thapa has become the most talked about in actress xNepali in 2069. So the title of ‘Controversy Queen of 2069 goes to Rekha Thapa!
After Rekha, the runner-up of the Controversy Queen 2069 is Sumina Ghimire. She jumped into the next-to-the-top position in the last days of the year when she let her anger rule in a telephone conversation with a journalist. None other than Sushma Karki took the second runner-up title with numerous controversies involving directors and boy friends.

Her attempt to get herself appointed as the head of Film Development Board might have been according to the suggestion of the astrologer. A milestone of Nepali film industry, ‘Vigilante’ is the first Nepali 3D movie in the 50-year long history of the industry. ‘Vigilante’ is produced by Aasma Films, the banner that produced the blockbuster movie ‘Chapali Height‘ last year. The movie features Priyanka Karki, Subash Thapa, Raj Ghimire, Menuka Pradhan, and Arjun Gurung in leading roles. The movie is directed by Dipendra K Khanal.
Story
‘Vigilante’ starts with a suicide scene of a groom on his marriage day – and, that is the mystery of the movie. As the movie advances, six friends are seen on a bike trip as a song of Sabin Rai is played on the background. As the advance toward an unmentioned destination, the six friends have a lot of fun and discussion. When one of the friends’ bike breaks down, their journey is halted in an evening. While staying in the house of Khatri in the way, two of them disappear in the forest. Other four to enter the forest to find their missing friends. One by one each of them disappear in the forest.

Two Nepali movies ‘Vigilante 3D’ and ‘Kisan’ are released in theater on Friday, April 5. The movie ‘Vigilante’ is the first Nepali movie made in 3D technology. Another release, ‘Kisan’ was completed 2010 but wasn’t released in theater.

Made on the story of farmer, ‘Kisan’ is a movie directed by Bimal Poudel and features Rajesh Hamal, Ganesh Upreti, Nandita KC, Neeta Dhungana, Nir Shah, Rajesh Dhungana, and Mausami Malla, Chetan Sapkota in main roles. The movie is presented by Basanta Kumar Shrestha and is made under the banner of Kaligandaki Cine Max. The movie features the music of Chetan Sapokota, cinematography of Raju KC and action of Roshan Shrestha.
A charity show of Tulsi Ghimire‘s movie ‘Dristikod was held in Jaya Nepal film hall, Kathmandu on April 4. The movie scheduled to release on April 19 is made on a story of people’s viewpoint on other people.

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa has supported Sumina Ghimire and accused the journalists at onlinekhabar of creating such an environment. She accused journalists being irresponsible to the private lives of actresses and causing unnecessary tension.
In a page-long statement titled ‘We artists aren’t robots’, Rekha had quoted the incidents of the death of actress Shrisha Karki and actress Jesika Khadka (Jyoti Khadka). She also accused journalist of focusing on Namrata Shrestha on the case of the release of her sex video and not talking about the male involved in the video.
