Rekha Thapa and Ayush Rijal

After the success of Hifajat, Ayush Rijal and  Rekha Thapa are considered new hot sensation in the screen.

Rekha Thapa, well known for acting with fresh and young actors, brought Ayush in Hifajat. The producers have liked the couple and currently, Rekha and Ayush are busy shooting two movies – Challenge and Sadak.

Apart from the two movies they are shooting they have recently signed two more movies – Khushi and Jaljala, in a single day. Rekha Thapa says, “I have acted in so many films, but I had never signed two movies in a single day.”

Jaljala, by director Shivaji Lamichane, is an action thriller movie with terrorism theme. Rekha Thapa plays terrorist in the move. Another movie, Khusi will be produced by Gopi Krishna movies and directed by Gyanendra Deuja. The movie is based on love between Rekha and Ayush.

Nikhil Upreti, Biraj Bhatt and Kassam’s fate

It was bad luck for a movie, Kassam ,that Nikhil Upreti left when he ran away with Sanchita to Mumbai. The producers of another movie, Mato, were lucky enough to convince Rajesh Hamal to replace Nikhil, but Kassam’s producers weren’t blessed by luck.

The producer of Kassam, Ramprasad Rijal and director Laxman Rijal had tried to contact Nikhil but, without any success. As an alternative, they approached Biraj Bhatta, but to their dismay, Biraj also declined to act in it.

For a shooting schedule of 10 days, Rijal duo offered Biraj Rs. 500,000, which is a good money. But, Biraj has is own logic to decline to act in the movie. Biraj’s three reasons not to act in the movie: 1. He doesn’t want to act in a EX 3 Digital movie, 2. He won’t act in a movie left by Nikhil Upreti, 3. He won’t like to act in a movie that was scripted for somebody else.

Nepal Govt’s World Cup 2010 Gift – Load shedding and …

The final of World Cup2010 started on Friday and our Prime Minister, Madhav Nepal, has found a perfect opportunity to take revenge of his defeat in the election – by imposing added load shedding during the games.

In other countries the government is accountable to the people it rules – as the government is run by the leaders elected by the people. Our country is an exception, with majority of the cabinet members defeated in the election. All of them should be searching to take revenge with the people who didn’t vote them in the election.

Yesterday’s news implies the same:

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has increased load-shedding hours from 42 hours to 54 hours a week, with effect from Monday.

Beauty Contests – another hat-trick in July with Miss Angel

I wrote about the flood of beauty contests in December when there were 3 beauty contests being held in a week’s time (hat-trick, if you like – Republica Miss Teen, Riddhi Siddhi Miss Teen, and Miss Teen Tamang). After that, we had College Ambassador, Miss Mangol, Miss India Worldwide Nepal, Kid Queen, Miss Lumbini, and announcements of Miss Tamang (canceled) plus combined Miss Tamang and Miss Aryan. That is not all, we have a recent announcement of yet another contest, Miss Angel 2010.

The organizers of Miss Angel believe that the event will be nearly equivalent to Miss Nepal in terms of size! (But, I don’t have any reason to believe it.) The event is going to be held on July 17. They have only a month to prepare for the event and they want it to make a grand event… It however looks better in terms of prizes – Rs. 100,000 for the winner and 50,000 and 30,000 for the first and second runner up is not a bad prize money.

A rough history of beauty contests from November to May (10 contests in 7 months and another hat-trick beauty contest announcement for July)**

  1. Mr and Miss Kathmandu – November, 2009
  2. College Ambassador – December, 2009
  3. Miss Newa – December, 2009
  4. Republica Miss Teen – December, 2009
  5. Miss Teen Tamang – December, 2009
  6. Riddhi Siddhi Miss Teen – January, 2010
  7. Miss Mangol – March, 2010
  8. Miss India Worldwide Nepal – March, 2010
  9. Kid Queen – May, 2010
  10. Miss Lumbini – May, 2010
  11. Miss Tamang – July, 2010 (announced)
  12. Miss Aryan – July, 2010 (announced)
  13. Miss Angel – July, 2010 (announced)

** – This is a rough and unofficial statistics based on our previous reporting. There might have been more contests at that time.
