What happened in Kanchhi Musical Night?

Shweta Khadka organized a musical night titled ‘Kanchhi Musical Night’ for the fund raising of the Majhi Basti, being constructed in Sindhupalchowk. The residential area is being developed by Shweta Shree Foundation, a foundation registered in memory of actor Shree Krishna Shresta. Shree had died a month after marrying Shweta.

In the event organized in Annapurna Hotel in Durbar Marg, senior choreographer, Basanta Kumar Shrestha was given Rs. 51,000 and life-time achievement honour. In the event the members of Shweta Shree Foundation, various film artists and ‘Kanchhi’ film team. There were a total of about three hundred guests.

Kri song, good location – bad singer (Or, is it a strategy?)

I think, it was a huge blunder – a move probably bring down the high expectation of the viewers from the movie.

  • The movie ‘Kri’ is releasing this week.
  • Last week, Anmol KC and Aditi Budhathoki flew to Scotland for the shooting of a song.
  • It seems, the travel was more for Bhuwan KC and his girlfriend Jiya KC than the movie. According to a photo Anmol KC shared, they had met Bhuwan’s first wife, Bijaya Malla KC and his daughter Kajal KC in Europe. (watch the following video report)
  • The trailer of the movie was huge success although, there were accusation of stealing contents from Hindi movies.
  • The first song of the movie ‘Yeti Yeti Pani’ was also a huge success.
  • The second song will probably be successful because of the hype created by Anmol KC, trailer and previous song. But, when quality is considered – the voice doesn’t fit Anmol.
  • The second song was released 3 days before the film’s release, in a program held in Kathmandu. The song features Rodit Bhandari’s voice, Rodit’s lyrics and his music in association with Bishesh Pandey.
  • The song was shot in 3 days, video edited and released in another three days.

Few questions:

  • Was the release of the song necessary? Was it released to cool down the popularity and high expectation of viewers?
  • Was it done for an advertisement of a product Anmol is promoting? There is an advertisement board in the song – for a product featuring Anmol with Samragyee in the background of a scene featuring Anmol andAditi. Anmol was reportedly paid Rs. 10 lakhs to be featured in that ad.
  • The video is good but the voice of the singer doesn’t seem to fit Anmol. May be it was because the editing of the video was done in a hurry?

Anmol KC and Aditi Budhathoki in Scotland (Photo feature)

The song of upcoming movie of Anmol KC and Aditi Budhathoki, ‘Kri’ is going to release on Monday. The song was shot in Scotland, a couple of weeks before the release date of the film. Aditi, Anmol and Bhuwan KC had gone to Europe for the shooting two weeks before the release dat of February 9, 2018.

The song previously released, ‘Yeti Yeti Pani’ had became an instant success. Anmol fans are eagerly waiting for the second song of the movie. Based on the hype and promotional strategy, the movie will receive a huge initial crowd in theatre. The quality of the film will determine if the film will be successful in a long term.

The song shot in Scotland was shot in three days. The title of the song ‘Maile Jani Najani’ features Anmol and Aditi. The song has the voice of Rodit Bhandari and is made on the lyrics of the singer. The music is composed by Rodit and Bishesh Pandey.

Before the release of the song, few photos of Aditi and Anmol during the shooting of the song was released by the film team.

New Tattoo of Samragyee RL Shah and Aryan Sigdel in Philippines

Actress Samragyee RL Shah and actor Aryan Sigdel are currently in Philippines shooting for their upcoming movie ‘Kayara’. Samragyee reportedly was paid a whooping Rs. 10 lakh – a new high to be paid to an actress in the Nepali film industry.

The details of the movie ‘Kayara’ is not available. It seems Aryan is featured as a singer or musician. In one of the photos, Aryan has a tattoo of a guitar on his neck. They seem to be shooting in sea shore and island.

About ‘Mukhauta’

Being a multi-starrer, the movie was highly awaited. But, the wait resulted in higher expectation – more than what the film had to offer. So the most awaited, gangster/crime themed movie wasn’t successful in the box office. The movie tells the story of the underground mafia operating in Kathmandu. Because of violence and vulgar dialogues, the movie was given an ‘A’ certificate. The grading is given to films only suitable for the audience aged 16 years or older.

I wrote about the movie previously – ‘Mukhauta’ was released on June 13, 2014. The reason movie didn’t get the viewers as expected was attributed to various factors. The world cup football game was running at the time of the release – so, the film makers had also blamed the game for the failure of the movie. ‘Mukhauta’ producer Rabin Shrestha had recently announced the start of the production of the sequel of the movie titled ‘Mukhauta 2’. I had appreciated the participation of Harshika Shrestha in the premier of the movie in spite of her broken leg. The affair between Nisha Adhikari and cricketer Sharad Veshwakar became more apparent when they were seen together at the premier of the movie. This is the debut movie of the director Arpan Thapa as an actor.

25-year-olds can also apply for Miss Nepal 2018, 2 Additional audition destinations,

The application for the biggest beauty contest in Nepal, Miss Nepal, is going to be held among the contestants to be selected by various auditions in different cities in the country. The Audition will start from Magh 21 and will end on 27 (February 4 to February 10) in eight different cities. The auditions are going to be held in Dhangadi, Nepalgujng, Butwal, Pokhara, Birgunj, Biratnagar, Dharan and Birtamod. The last audition will be held on Falgun 5 (February 17, 2018) in Kathamndu. Birgunj and Birtamod are two additional cities the auditions that will also host auditions for Miss Nepal 2018, this year.

20 to 25 candidates will be selected at the auditions and they will go through 7 weeks of training before the finale to be held on April 11, 2018 on Hotel Annapurna.

What are the requirements of the contestants?

Like last year, the requirements of the contest are similar. Unlike last year, this year girls of age 25 can also apply. Until last year, the maximum age for the applicant was 24-years.

2 Weeks before the release, Kri team with Anmol and Aditi goes to Scotland

It sounds insane. The cast and crew members of ‘Kri’ have left for Europe for the shooting of a song at the last minute.

  • It is only 2 weeks before ‘Kri’ releases on February 9, 2018.
  • The last two week is the prime time for the promotion of the movie.
  • The shooting of ‘Kri’ took a long time – there were multiple delays and issues. The release date was also postponed once.
  • Anmol had given his full time to the movie for more than a year.
  • If the song is added at the last minute, then why should all go to Europe? They could have prepared a set and done the shooting in a fraction of cost and resources.

Sushma Adhikari – hot actress and model in Nepali film industry (Photos)

Hot actress, Sushma Adhikari, is taking over the sensuality of the previous Sushma – Sushma Karki. Sushma Adhikari’s debut movie wasn’t successful and she has been busy in various modelling assignments.

Sushma debuted in Nepali movie ‘Pipal’. After the failure of her first movie, Sushma’s second movie ‘Anautho Premkatha’ also failed to impress the viewers. After that, she has stopped acting in movies.

After not being able to establish herself as a credible actress in Nepali films, she also worked in a couple of Bhojpuri movies. The Bhojpuri films also didn’t help her much. Sushma opened up in two Bhojpuri movies. Bhojpuri movies featuring Sushma are ‘Deewana 2’ and ‘Jaya Madhesh’.

Although she couldn’t leave an impression in movies, Sushma Adhikari has been successful as a model in music videos. She has been featured in hundreds of music videos. She is equally popular in lok geet music videos and pop song music videos. These days, Sushma is featured in a lot of music videos and she is also quite active in social media.

Real reason of Manoj Gajurel divorce

Manoj Gajurel’s divorce is an unique case in Nepali entertainment industry. No other celebrity had sustained such a long married life and divorce after two decade. So far, it is apparent that no third person is involved.

The divorce is a puzzle because – Manoj hasn’t talked to media about divorce. He has confirmed it by writing a long statement in Facebook. But, he is yet to appear in video interviews. His ex-wife however has been quite vocal on the case. She has given vague details of the reasons they have separated. But, there is no concrete and decisive factor that had caused the divorce. Watch the following video report to know what is going on in their relationship.

What is the real reason?

Before deciding on the real reason – some facts need to be analyzed.

  • 22 years of marriage.
  • It was a love marriage. Manoj Gajurel did some bluff calls to Mina for a couple of months before they finally met.
  • 20 years old son and 13 years old daughter.
  • Manoj was 22 years old and Mina was 19 years old when they got married.
  • Manoj is inclined towards CPN UML (Communist) and Meena is inclined towards Nepali Congress. Manoj is still active politically, Meena is not.
  • Meena is a fashion designer by training.
  • Meena had started a fashion boutique before. But, she had to close it down earlier. Now, she has decided to start the similar business in partnership with her daughter.

Manoj says

  • He and Mina come from different background and upbringings.
  • Meena is an angry woman. He thought it was a mental problem and tried to solve by medication.
  • Now, they are officially separated and have done so in mutual understandings.
  • All the property is divided into four parts – among Manoj, Meena, son and daughter.
  • The daughter stays with the mother and the son stays with the father.

Meena says:

Meena has told a lot of different things in different interviews. Some of them seem important others don’t. I will only summarize some of the statements that might have contributed to the decision they made.

  • Everybody at her maternal home call her “Menu” but, Manoj never called her by her pet name. (Her expectations were not met.)
  • Manoj didn’t want Meena to be active. He tried to stop her from being active out of home.
  • Meena wanted to be free. She wants to be active in politics, she wants to try her singing skills, and she also wants to succeed in business.
  • Meena get angry fast but, she also calms down after a while. The anger was linked to mental illness and she took medication for two years. Later it was found out that the medication was unnecessary. Meena accuses Manoj of keeping her under unnecessary medication.
  • Astrologically they don’t match. The astrological signs of Manoj and Meena both is Leo. Meena believes that was one of the reasons they didn’t match.

Based on these facts, I think the real reason of the divorce is the desire of Meena Dhakal to get control of her life. It seems, she has a feeling of being on the shadow of the will known personality in Nepal.

Hot dance of Rishi Dhamala wife Aliza Gautam with Cartoonz Crew, for Anurag

The wife of journalist Rishi Dhamala has completed the shooting of her upcoming movie ‘Anurag’. The shooting of two more songs for the movie are yet to be done. In one of the songs, Aliza has danced with Saroj Adhikari of Cartoonz Crew. The lead dancer and choreographer of the dance group is featured in a song titled ‘Kanchha Dai Gana Bajai Deu Na”. The song is a club dance song. The song is composed by Tara Prakash Limbu, voice of Mamata Gurung and choreography of Bikram Swar.

Lead actor of the movie is Samundra Pandit, a new actor and Aliza is also debuting in the movie as a producer and lead actress.

The film went through a controversy when the actor who was at the press meet decided to leave the movie. The film team had also approached Paul Shah for the role. The actor was reportedly offered a huge sum for the role. But, later Paul refused to do the movie and decided to do another movie for half of the price offered by Aliza.

Too much tears of Shweta Khadka, in films and in press meets

A press meet was held in Kathmandu to release the trailer of Shweta Khadka’s upcoming movie, ‘Kanchhi’. The movie directed by Akash Adhikari features Shweta with Dayahang Rai in leading roles. The trailer seems interesting because of the comedy and love story aspect. It seems, the movie has a lot of tears to watch for.

Shweta Khadka comeback

Actress Shweta Khadka is making comeback in the Nepali film industry in February with her first movie after the death of her husband, actor Shree Krishna Shrestha, in 2014. Shrestha died after a month of their marriage, a day before the release of their movie ‘Kohinoor’. In the movie, Shweta and Shree Krishna were featured in leading roles. After the death of her husband, Shweta went on a long depression and mourning. After much treatment she has recovered and has produced ‘Kanchhi’ under Kaya Films banner. Shree Krishna used to produce movies under Nepa Films banner.

Pooja Sharma and Sudarshan Thapa team up to produce Ram Kahani, Magne Budha paid Rs. 10 lakh

The producers and director of hit film of the year, ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu’, Sudarshan Thapa and Pooja Sharma have announced a new movie. The moive titled ‘Ram Kahani’ has pushed back the production of the sequel of MYGG – ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu 2’. The movie to be produced jointly by Pooja and Sudarshan is going to the floor on Falgun 1 (February 13).

The director Thapa has told that the movie is being made on a comedy-love-story theme. The lead actor is yet to be finalized. The director of successful love story films like ‘Mero Euta Sathi Chha’, ‘Prem Geet’, Sudarshan Thapa has also written the story of the upcoming movie. A while ago Kedar Ghimire ‘Magne Budha’ was announced to be charging Rs. 10 lakh for his role in the movie – a huge sum of money for a comedy actor. Another comedy actor, Jitu Nepal, will also be paid Rs, 7 lakh for the role. The film will also feature Wilson Bikram Rai (Takkme Budha) and Rabindra Jha.
