The fifth edition of Miss Nepal US was held in New York among a huge crowd of Nepali living in the USA. Two Nepali actresses, Keki Adhikari and Nandita KC had also performed in the event. Actress Manisha Koirala was also present in the event. Other bollywood actors and Nepali actors like Sunil Thapa were also present in the event. Most of these film artists were in the USA to participate in FOG festival in California, held earlier.
Priyanka Thapaliya, a resident of North Carolina, has wont this years Miss Nepal US title. Kaushila Lama and Neha Jha have won the first and second runner up titles respectively. The winners were selected from the pool of ten finalists of the contest.

She tried her luck in a number of other so-called hot movies without any success. After she met Bhuwan KC, Jiya is absent from the Nepali film industry and has started living in Bhuwan’s home at Sinamangal.
Although Bhuwan KC and Jiya KC live in the same house and travel together, they still seem to be at unease when it comes to taking photo together. The last time they were photographer together was during the release of Anmol KC movie, ‘Jerry’ in November of 2014 (watch ‘Jerryy’ here).

After that, they were together during the shooting of Bhuwan’s debut movie as a director ‘Dreams’. The movie featuring his son Anmol KC and Samragya RL Shah in leading role doesn’t have any role for Jiya. In fact, he had called Jiya a vulgar actress at the time of the start of the shooting. But, she had joined the ‘Dreams’ team to Mustang with Bhuwan KC.
Bollywood actress of Nepali origin, Manisha Koirala, has been awarded the 3rd Annual G.O.D. Awards (Global Officials of Dignity Awards) by the United Nations. In an event held in the UN headquarters in New York, Manisha was handed over the award for her contribution to the earthquake victims in Nepal.

Festival of Globe (FOG) has been going on in the USA since August 7 and will wrap up on August 16. Nepali artists participating in the festival include Nandita KC, Keki Adhikari, Suresh Darpan Pokharel, Richa Ghimire, Shankar BC, Sunil Thapa and others.
Although the release date of the upcoming movie ‘Kismat 2’ is already announced – on the last Friday of 2072, the artists are yet to be finalized. In a latest report, actress Shilpa Pokharel is going to be featured in leading role. Although Chhabi had previously announced Shilpa to lead the movie, the official announcement was made recently.
The sequel of the hit movie ‘Kismat’Â will not repeat any of the original artists. The original ‘Kismat’ had featured Rekha Thapa, Aryan Sigdel and Biraj Bhatt in leading roles. Although rumors of the possibility of Aryan is going on, Rekha and Biraj are out of picture for now.

The biography of late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha was unveiled in a program to mark the first anniversary of his death on Shrawan 25 in Kathmandu. In the program held in Russian Cultural Center, minister, FDB personnel and various film artists were present to pay homage to the late actor.

On the occasion of actor Aryan Sigdel’s birthday, TV Filmy had organized a birthday celebration program. In the program actor Aryan Sigdel celebrated his birthday with fellow artists Jiwan Luitel, Dayahang Rai and others.
