Shankar Acharya’s movie ‘Love Forever’ is releasing next week (on June 28) in theaters all over Nepal. The movie features Gajit Bista, Sumina Ghimire and Niraj Baral in main roles. Shankar Acharya’s son Raj Acharya is also debuting in a short role in the movie. Raj Acharya is known as the child artist in popular comedy serial ‘Tito Satya’.

Nepali movie on the life of martyr Bhimdutta Pant being made
A Nepali movie based on the life of the martyr Bhimdutta Pant is being shot in the location in far-western Nepal. The martyr Bhimdutta is known for his fight against cast system and Rana autocracy. More than 60 percent of the movie is scheduled to be shot in the Western Nepal.
In the history of Nepali movies, this will be the first movie based on the life of a martyr. The movie titled ‘Bhimdutt’ is being produced and directed by Himgyap Tasi Lama. The movie will also feature songs based on the quotations of Bhimdutta and will showcase the attractions of Western Nepal.
Rekah Thapa’s Kali, shooting in Birgunj
True to her skin color, actress Rekha Thapa is doing a role of Kali in her upcoming movie ‘Kali’. Although made under own banner, Rekha Films and many successful movies were made under the banner, this is the first time she is playing the role of a producer. After Rekha divorced Chhabi Raj Ojha he registered a new production house and she is left to go on her own.
The first movie of Chhabi Raj production was jointly produced by Rekha Films and Chhabi Raj Films. Now, Chhabi has started his own ‘Lofar’ without Rekha and Rekha has gone to the floor with ‘Kali’ without Chhabi. At this time, I recall Rekha posting a photo of herself and Chhabi exactly two years ago with quote – "with my miyau…" Time sure has changed a lot.
Namrata Shrestha celebrated her birthday in Bal Mandir, Maun poster released
Nepali actress Namrata Shrestha went to Bal Mandir in Naxal to celebrate her 27th birthday. The event was organized by the team of her upcoming movie ‘Maun’. To celebrate her birthday, Namrata cut the cake and feed the students. The director of ‘Maun’ Suraj Bhusal also feed the cake to the student.
Apart from celebration of Namrata’s birthday, a first look poster of the movie was also released in the program. With a tagline “a loud silence” the love story movie features Arpan Thapa and Namrataa Shrestha in the leading roles. The story and script of the movie is written by Arpan Thapa and is jointly produced by Navin Gauli and the director Bhushal.
First Look of Nepali movie April Fool released
A movie made on the story of fooling people on the first of April, ‘April Fool’ is now ready for release. In a program held in Kathmandu, the first look of the movie was released on Monday.
At the time when more movies are focused on sex-theme, the producers have told that the movie is different from the others. The comedy movie is directed by Bhadra Bhujel and features actress Sumina Ghimire, Kumar Lamichane, Mahima Silwal, Binod Neupane, Manoj Lamichane, Deshbhakta Khanal and others in main roles. The movie is presented by Keshav Lamichane and Kamal Lamichane under Third Team Films Pvt. Ltd.
First look of Nepali movie Gambler released
In a program held in Kathmandu the first look of a movie made on gambling ‘Gambler’ was released. The movie made by Yadav Gurung under YAAC banner is written and directed by Ramesh Budhathoki.
‘Gambler’ features Rajesh Hamal and Suman Singh in main roles. Other actors in the movie include Bina Budhathoki, Kalpana Shahi, Sonia KC, Mohan Nirula and others. Although the release date is yet to be announced, the movie was completed two years ago. Director Budhathoki told that the movie is made on the story of crime and social trouble caused by casino.
Priyanka Karki to be featured in Awaran
The director of ‘Apabad’, Subash Koirala is starting a new movie named ‘Awaran’. The movie was announced in a program held on June 10 in Kathmandu. Actress Priyanka Karki is going to be featured in the lead role in the movie. The movie will also feature Divya Dev, Sushilraj Pandey, Naresh Poudel, Rabi Giri and Rashmi Bhatta in main roles.
The movie is told to be made in an unusual plot. Talking in the program Priyanka told that her role is different from other movies and it is challenging.
Film Artists gather in Dharan for National Film Festival
Nepali film artists have gathered in Dharan to participate in the ‘National Film Festival’ being held in the Eastern city. The festival was inaugurated by comedy duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya with Film Development Board chief Pappu.
Nepali movie Hostel – First look released
The first look of the movie featuring second-generation artists of Nepali movie industry ‘Hostel’ was released on Thursday, May 30 in Kathmandu. The movie features Anmol KC – son of Bhuwan KC, Salon Basnet – son of Shovit Basnet, and Gaurav Pahadi – son of actor Tika Pahadi.
The first look of the movie produced under Durgis Films banner was unveiled by the FDB chief Dharmendra Kumar Marbaita (Pappu). First look, song and the promo were released in the program.
Only three people on each category nominated for a new award – OFA
In the crowd of film awards, a new film award is going to be held soon – "Online Filmykhabar Award (OFA) 2070". It seems, they want to differentiate themselves from other film awards – so they have only nominated 3 people per award. It is a general practice to nominate five nominee.
In addition to the awards given for the nominated artists, three more awards including Jury Award, Popular Exhibitor Award and Life Time Achievement Award will also be awarded in the award ceremony. The orgnizers have announced that the Life Time Achievement Award will be presented to Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya.
Subrat Acharya, another journalist to direct a movie
It seems, movie directing is an attractive profession for film journalists. That might be the reason the Kantipur journalist Subrat Acharya has commenced directing a movie named ‘Adhakatti’.
Another journalist Dabbu Chhetri is currently directing a movie named ‘Passport’. Actor director Dinesh DC had also started as a journalist. A photo journalist of Kantipur, Bikash Rauniar is in film business (it is his wife who is directing the movie). The movie named ‘Megha’ is featuring Manisha Koirala‘s brother Siddhartha Koirala and Namrata Shrestha.

Sushma’s Bindaas 2, another upcoming sequel movies
After the moderate success of ‘Bindaas’, the movie team had decided to produce the sequel of the movie. In a latest report, the lead actress Sushma Karki has signed in formally and the shooting is going to start soon.
The lead actress of the movie, Sushma Karki had told that she received Rs. 3 lakh to do the first movie. For the sequel, there are conflicting reports of Sushma agreeing to do it for Rs. 2 lakh at first but in later days, the amount was ballooned to Rs. 5 lakh. Everybody knows, there is little truth on such a huge amounts and they use these statements for the advertisement of the movies.
Nisha Adhikari planning to reach Mt. Everest summit on 21 May
Nepali actress Nisha Adhikari has started her ascent to reach the top of the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest. She is heading for the Camp II at 2AM Nepali time. She is expecting the reach the top on May 21, 2013.
In a statement, Nisha told that she is, ‘Nervous, excited, hoping, anticipating and happy that the morning has finally arrived." Nisha thinks that the best thing about climbing the mountain is being in the nature’s ‘majestic lap’ and the sense of unbiasedness.
Saayad sequel Saayad 2 to be made
The producer of ‘Saayad‘, Sunil Rawal has announced that he will start the production of it’s sequel ‘Saayad 2’ after the release of his second movie ‘Hostel’. His upcoming movie ‘Hostel’ is made on the young generation youths and features second generation artists of Nepali movie industry.
