Keki Adhikari to be featured as Charumati in her debut play

Actress and model Keki Adhikari is debuting in theater as Charumati. While everybody else were celebrating Shivaratri, Keki and the ‘Charumati’ team spent the night at the Theatre Village to rehearse for the play. The rehearsal went on for the whole night.

‘Charumati’, a historical dance play is written by Satya Mohan Joshi and directed by Bimal Subedi. Originally written in Newari, the play was translated in Nepali by Rajendra Maharjan.

Three Nepali movies – Mokshya, Jhola and Mutu releasing on Friday

Three Nepali movies ‘Mokshya’, ‘Jhola’ and ‘Mutu’ are releasing in theaters on Friday, February 7.

Musical dram and biopic ‘Mokshya’ is considered to be one of the best movies of the year based on the review of the preview shows. The movie made on a real story of a musical band is also a story of the director Prabin Shrestha himself. The movie produced by Sunil Manandhar features Koshis Chhetri and Benisha Hamal in lead roles.

Nandita KC donated Rs. 81k to kids with HIV

Actress Nandita KC visited ‘Baby Life Home’ in Kirtipur to handover Rs. 81,111 to the organization taking care of HIV positive kids. The residence established four years ago is home to HIV positive 16 orphan kids.  

Nandita had raised the money during the cultural program in Hong Kong. The money was raised with the help of Miss Hong Kong Nepal VC Lileshowri Khadka, Miss Hong Kong Nepal 2012 Parina Subba, Sunita Gurung, Netra Pahari and Ganesh Basnet.

Masan to be screened on January 23, Cinemandu

The 10th edition of Cinemandu: screening of ‘Masan’ is going to be held in Kathmandu on January 23, 2014.

The event organized by The Embassy of India, Kathmandu and BP Koirala India Nepal Foundation had in past featured other critically acclaimed films like ‘Sanghuro’, ‘Uma’, ‘Shirish Ko Phool’ etc. The free screening of the movie will also be followed by an interaction with the crew and casts of the film.

Biteka Pal – Movie Review

Nepali movie ‘Biteka Pal’ was released on January 10, 2014. The recommendations of the viewers during the premier held on December 28, were also told to be incorporated in the final release. The movie produced by Rajesh Ghatani and Krish Rijal is written and directed by Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’. The movie features Keki Adhikari, Abinash Gurung and Baboo Bogati in lead roles.

The director had told that the movie is based on a true story of a woman from Jhapa.

Big films testing their luck this Friday

After a couple of weeks without any new releases, Nepali film makers are releasing four new movies on January 10. At least, three out of the four movies are considered big names in the Nepali movie industry.

 

The movie ‘Biteka Pal’ by noted director of successful movies like ‘Bato Muniko Phool’ and ‘Sayaad’, Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ is known to make good movies. Although his last movie ‘Facebook’ didn’t do well, the current release has created a buzz before the release. In addition to a good director, the movie also features new and talented actors like Keki Adhikari and Baboo Bogati in leading roles. Keki Adhikari was highly appreciated by the audience during the premier show of the movie on the last week of 2013. The songs of the movie are also liked by the public.

Biteka Pal to get a trim in length before the release on Jan 10

After the premier show, the film makers of ‘Biteka Pal’ have collected the views and suggestions of the viewers to make it better. The movie is one of the four movies releasing on January 10, 2013.

Although the director Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ was appreciated for making a good movie and the actress Keki Adhikari for her acting skills, some have complained that the movie has some unnecessary and confusing scenes. In a report, the producer Rajesh Ghatani has told that the length of the movie will be trimmed by 20 minutes to incorporate the suggestion of the expert viewers. In a Facebook message, Ghatani told that he has considered the suggestions of the viewers his New Year’s present.

Nepali actresses nominated for Music videos model award

In a music video award ‘Rastriya Rapti Music Award 2070’ to be held soon, all the nominated music video models are actresses. The nominated actresses include: Keki Adhikari, Binita Baral, Nandita KC, Jharana Thapa, and Shilpa Pokharel. Four out of the five nominated models are established film actress. The only model, Shilpa is also going to be featured in Chhabi Raj Ojha‘s upcoming movie ‘Lazza’.

Biteka Pal premier show held in Kathmandu, Keki appreciated for her role

The premier show of upcoming movie ‘Biteka Pal’ was held in Kathmandu on December 29, 2013. After the show, most of the viewers have appreciated the movie. The movie directed by Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ features Keki Adhikari, Baboo Bogati, and Abinash Gurung in lead roles.

In the premier show held in City Center, Darjeeling resident actor Abinash was also present. He had travelled from Darjeeling to Kathmandu for the premier show. Other noted personalities in the show include Hari Bansha Acharya and his wife, Maoist leader Barshaman Pun, Yuvaraj Lama, producer Rajkumar Rai, director Bikash Acharya, Suresh Darpan Pokharel and others. With Keki other actrors like Benisha Hamal, Reema Bishowkarma, Gajit Bista, Niraj Baral, Subash Thapa, Sarita Lamichane, Samyam Puri, Malina Joshi, Wilson Bikram Rai, Sanchita Luitel and others were also present at the Big Cinemas.

‘Biteka Pal’ team celebrates Keki Adhikari birthday during audio launch

On the occasion of the lead actress’ birthday of the upcoming movie ‘Biteka Pal’, the film team organized a special celebration. This was the second time Keki Adhikari was celebrating her birthday with the film team. Last year, she celebrated her birthday in Darjeeling when the shooting of the movie was going on.

The celebration was done during the audio launch of the movie. Speaking at the ceremony Manoj KC told that Keki was the next big name in the industry after Rekha thapa. Producer Raj Kumar Rai also appreciated hard working nature of Keki. The director Suraj Subba also appreciated the work of keki.

Keki Adhikari explains the meaning of her name in a video

Nepali actress and well known music video model Keki Adhikari has prepared a video to explain the meaning of her name. The name ‘Keki’ is unique and most of the people she meet ask her the meaning of the name.

The name actually comes from the father language of Nepali language – Sanskrit. In Sanskrit language, Keki means a beautiful bird, peacock. In the video, apart from explaining the meaning of the name, Keki has also addressed other questions that follow.

The current election is considered to be one of the most important step towards the future of Nepal as a country. For that reason, most of the artists of the Nepali film industry have been actively participating in the election awareness. Most of them have joined one of the many political parties and those who haven’t joined any party are also actively participating in the awareness of people about their voting rights.

Nepali superstar is going to vote in the constituency no. 6 in Kathamndu. He is not affiliated to any party and he is also asking everybody to vote in the election.

Actress Karishma Manandhar is voting at Kathmandu constituency no. 3. Karishma is also one of the few artists who is not a member of any political party. She has also been asking every Nepali to vote the truthful and capable person in the election.
