Sushma Karki arrived drunk in a shooting

These days more than few rumors of actress Sushma Karki are being circulated in the Nepali movie industry. She has been acting in odd ways in these days. In an interview she talked about the offers of 1-2 lakhs per night then she was removed from a movie when she ignored the team for her boyfriend. In response, Sushma accused the team of sexual harassment. Then there was another news about her boyfriend disapproving a revealing dress during a stage show.

In the latest news, Sushma was reported to arrive in shooting spot totally drunk.  She was scheduled to shot a song of ‘Mero Jiwan Sathi’ on 21st but she didn’t show up on that day. When she came in the morning of 22nd, the director Diwakar Bhattarai asked her to come back after a few hours. But at 3:00 PM when she showed up, she was not in the condition of shooting. She had also bumped her head in the stairs.

Rajesh Hamal flying to the US today

Nepali superstar is going to the USA to participate in various cultural programs on the occasions of the biggest festival in Nepal, Dashain. The Qatar Airways takes off in the evening today. He was invited by United Nepal to participate in Dashain Cultural program.

Apart from participating in cultural programs, he will celebrate Dashain and Tihar there and return back after Tihar. In previous years he used to celebrate Tihar with his foster sister, Maina Suchikar in
Khagendra Nava Jiwan Kendra. After the death of Maina, Hamal decided to celebrate Tihar with his own sisters living in the US.

Binita Baral celebrated her 24th birthday

Chapli girl of Chapali Height, actress Binita Baral has turned 24 years-old on Monday October 8, 2012.

Although Binita didn’t organize a formal birthday celebration program, she visited a number of temples to pray the god on the day. In the morning Binita went to Kamaladi Ganesh mandir to perform puja. After that she went to Pashupatinath. In the evening she also visited Bagalamukhi temple in Lalitpur. Binita says that worshiping gods in temples helps her to feel peace and harmony.

Binita also had an informal birthday celebration with close friends and family at home.

Box Office Film Award 2012 postponed

It was advertised as the first Nepali movie award to be organized in foreign soil and was scheduled to be held on October 12, 2012. But apparently, the organizers were not prepared at all, and the ‘huge’ event is now postponed. We are not sure if we need to take it as ‘canceled’ or not.

The reasons cited for the postponement of the event include:

1. Organizer RK Subedi’s mother got critically ill (our get well soon wish) and had to be hospitalized. It seems the event was one man show. When one of the organizer is busy, the whole show need to be postponed.

2. The artists like , Karishma Manandhar, Dipak Limbu, Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula, Baboo Bogati, Mandabi Tripathi, Yes Kumar etc. refused to attend the event. It’s odd, how can the organizers feature the artists in their banner even before they had confirmed their attendance.

Mr. Hong Kong Nepal 2012 is Bishow Thapa Magar

Bishow Thapa Magar has won the title of the 12th bodybuilding competition held among Nepali bodybuilders in Hong Kong. The 1st Runner up has been awarded to Apun K and the second Runner up title was awarded to Min Bahadur Thapa. The winner Bishow Thapa Magar will go to Nepal to participate in Mr. Nepal bodybuilding competition.

14th Image Award ceremony held in Kathmandu

The 14th Annual Tuborg Image Award ceremony was held in Kathmandu on October 6, 2012. Awards were awarded in  20 different categories in the award ceremony.

In the event, many of the personalities related to Nepali music industry were present. Various musical programs were performed by artists like Dipak Bajracharya, Satya and Sworoop Acharya, Shashi Rawal, Rekha Shah, Milan Amatya and others.

The jury of the award ceremony has recognized senior music director Yadav Kharel and honored him with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rekha Thapa visited an astrologer to discuss marriage and political future

Actress Rekha Thapa has recently visited young astrologer Harihar Adhikari. The astrologer known in the celebrity circle has been suggesting Nepali artists in their personal issues.

After the problem in her married life, Rekha had wanted to enter into politics. She met the prime minister and CPNU Maoist chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal but, her desire to be appointed in the president of Film Development Board wasn’t successful.

In the meeting with Harihar, Rekha had reportedly asked about the reason in
the problem in her relationship with Chhabi Ojha. She also asked if she can marry again. Rekha had also asked about her political future.

Happy Birthday Nisha Adhikari

Today, actress Nisha Adhikari turned 26 years old (born on October 4, 1986).  In a Facebook message Nisha told that she had a great year and hope the same in coming year. Nisha added, "The only regret I have is I got so caught up with me and my work.. I unwantedly neglected my friends and family and didn’t have much time for them."

Nisha hoped to have a "fun-filled and fruitful year ahead" and we wish her wishes come true. Happy Birthday Nisha!

Nisha’s career in entertainment industry:

At the age of 21, in 2005, Nisha won Miss Personality subtitle in Miss International Nepal. She also represented Nepal in the Miss International 2005 pageant held in Japan. In 2008 she wanted to compete for the Miss Nepal 2008 beauty contest. But, her desire to be the Miss Nepal wasn’t successful because the pageant itself was cancelled under pressure from CPN Maoist.

Nisha made her acting debut in a comedy serial ‘Gharbeti Ba’ shown in Kantipur Television. In Nepali movie, she made her debut in ‘Mission Paisa’ with actor Nikhil Upreti. After the success of the movie Nisha did other movies like ‘Nainra Resham’, ‘First Love’ and others.

Shovita Simkhada sizzling in Qatar

These days actress Shovita Simkhada is living in Qatar with her husband. Well, it’s not that Shovita wear Burkha all the time while living in Qatar. She can get quite hot and sizzling at times. See some sample photo below:

Even while living in Qatar, Shovita is as busy in acting and modeling as she was in Nepal. She is currently doing a music video of Nabin K. Bhattarai. The hot music video is being directed by Bhabindra Ta

Apart from working in entertainment business, she is also helping her husband in his business in Qatar. Shovita’s relocation to Qatar has made it easy for the local organizers of Nepali programs.

Poojana Stri to produce movies

Poojana Stri, previously known as Poojana Pradhan, has become the latest actress to debut as a producer. Poojana started her entertainment career as a model and then she started acting in movies. In the last few years, Poojana has started some businesses and has also been involved in spiritual and social works.

Poojana has registered her production company named Poojana Films and the firs movie she will produce is titled ‘Namaste Dubai’. The movie will feature Nepali workers in Dubai. Poojan
a has claimed that in addition to this movie, she has also prepared stories for her next two ventures.

The shooting of the movie will be done in Dubai and she has already received the shooting license from Media City. For the selection of the shooting spots Poojana had visited Dubai on September 13 and she had returned back last week to finalize other things. The movie will feature six lead actors including Ashish Purush and Rajkumar Neupane. Among the actresses Sandhya Bhandari and Poojana herself are finalized. The director and cinematographer of the movie are yet to be finalized.

QFX cinemas closed – because of ban in Hindi movies

According to a media report, one of the multiplex operators QFX has decided to close its theaters because of the ban in screening Hindi movies starting from Monday. The distribution manager of QFX, Basanta Manandhar, told that they don’t have "any quality Nepali movie" to screen in their theaters. QFX’s all three theaters – QFX Jainepal, QFX Kumari and QFX Central in Civil Mall, Sundhara are closed for now. The report also says that another multiplex, BigCinemas, has also limited to operating only one of its theaters from Monday.

These decisions are told to be made in response to the CPN-Maoist (Baidhya faction) decision to ban the screening of Hindi movies in Nepal.

Mausami Malla’s son debuts in ‘Samaya’

Actress Mausami Malla has produced a new Nepali movie ‘Samaya’ to debut her son Bikki in leading role. The movie will also feature actress Surabhi Bista in her debut role. This movie is the 41st movie directed by it’s director, Dayaram Dahal.

A program was organized in Kathmandu to release the promotional video and the poster of the movie. In the program, the film was told to be made on a story of clash between two generation. The old-generation couple are represented by and Mausami Malla and the new-generation are represented by Shurabhi and Bikki.

Nepal Bhasa (Newa) film festival started in Kathmandu

The first ever festival of Newa movies, Nepal Bhasa (Newa) film festival started on September 27 and will run till October 4, 2012 in Janabahaa (Machhindra Bahaa) in Kel Tol from 7:30 pm to 10 pm every night. The oldest persons Pran Maya Karmacharya, 98, and 86-year old Ananda Shakya, the oldest person and the oldest male in Kel Tol, lighted the inaugural lamp to mark the auspicious launch of the First Newa Film Festival on Thursday.

This festival coincides with the ancient and highly colorful festival, Indrajatra (Yenyaa) festival.

Namrata Shrestha and Prem Ghale the love-birds in the town

Actress Namrata Shrestha had been seeing Prem Ghale for some time and now she has updated her relationship status in her Facebook profile reflecting their close relationship. This news however is not new. The affair about the two started in late 2010 and were seen for the first time together in the premier of the movie ‘Acharya’. After that, the couple are usually seen together and Namrata has also been posting their photos in her Facebook profile.

This year, on Valentine day, Namrata posted their photo in Facebook, confirming the intimate relationship.

It seems, the relationship has been pretty stable for a couple of years and it might be the life-long relationship.

Komal Oli’s public appeal on personal harassment

In a public appeal, singer (and to be actress) Komal Oli has accused a person named Dr. Ramesh Basnet (a.k.a Dharma Thapa) of harassment for the last two years. Komal says, Dr. Basnet is originally from Gulmi and lives in the UK these days. The appeal was released in an interview video published in DC Nepal.

In addition to releasing the video in YouTube, Komal Oli had told to have registered complaints in Nepal Police and the related authorities about the incident. Komal accuses Dr. Basnet of creating a fake Facebook account of Komal Oli and using it on her behalf; and sending emails and making phone calls to Komal, her family and friends. Komal has publicly requested not to believe on the information received from the person.
