Father’s Day special – Fathers of Nepali Actresses

I have prepared a photo profile of the fathers of 10 Nepali actresses. This post is prepared to complement the video. I will update the photos of all the other actresses whenever I find them. Shilpa Pokharel says she is willing to marry Chhabi. Kismat 2 publicity stunt?

Chhabi Raj Ojha’s next movie ‘Kismat 2’ is releasing in the Dashain this year. It seems, the film team is well prepared not to leave any stone unturned. The lead actress, Shilpa Pokharel has told in an interview that if her family agrees, she is willing to marry Chhabi Raj Ojha. Based on previous statement, I think, she is very unlikely to marry Chhabi and it is only a publicity stunt. This time, Chhabi had prepared the situation by formally divorcing Rekha Thapa in the court.

Summer Love delayed, is it due to the search of a cheap actress ?

It seems, the movie to be made on the popular novel by Subin Bhattarai, ‘Summer Love’ is delayed. The reason for the delay is said to be the lead actress. The actress to be featured as the character Saya in the novel hasn’t been found yet. The film to be produced by the producer of ‘Nai Nabhannu La’ franchise, Bikash Acharya, was said to be directed by his assistant, Muskan Dhakal.

The movie was initially announced in June of 2015. After almost a year later, ‘Dreams’ actress,Samragyee RL Shah was told to be featured in the leading actress’ role. Samragyee and the film team hadn’t however signed an agreement. Later, when ‘Dreams’ became a hit movie, Samragyee RL Shah reportedly hiked her price and the ‘Summer Love’ production team decided to search for another actress. In the mean time Samragyee RL Shah has signed actress Jharana Thapa‘s directoral debut movie ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ for a sum of Rs. 500 K.

Why go cheap ?

It seems, the production team is penny pinching while searching for an actress. It is not a good sign that the producers couldn’t find an actress not only in Nepal but also in Australia.

RIP Khemraj Gurung, the singer of Wari Jamuna Pari Jamuna

A well known Nepali folk singer and musician Khem Raj Gurung has died in a hospital in Kathmandu at the age of 42. According to the cousin of Khem Raj, Ratna Gurung, the singer had died on August 25, 2016 due to complications caused by jaundice. A liver patient, Khem Raj, was admitted to the hospital ten days before his death after the symptoms of jaundice appeared in his body. He was treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital after his health condition worsened.

Who is Khem Raj Gurung?

Originally from Khandbari of Sankhuwasabha district, Khem Raj Gurung was living with his sons at Sukedhara, Kathmandu residence. Gurung is survived by his wife and two sons. He is considered the only national level singers from Sankhuwasabha district.

Rose Rana attackers arrested, attack un-related to Jaya Parshuram

Two attackers hired to attack actor, director and producer Rose Rana have been arrested in Kathmandu. The person who had planned the attack is still at large. According to the police, the attack was unrelated to the recent release of ‘Jaya Parshuram’ and the controversy.

The arrested are Mote (Bibechan Prajapati) and Katunje (Surya Lama). The police has stated that Mote was the attacker and Katunje had helped him. A don named Jodha (Ratna Bahadur Lama) had assigned Mote to attack Rose Rana. The police hasn’t been able to find out the whereabout of Jodha.

The reason of this attack was related to the illegal activities Rose Rana was involved in the past. Jodha had planned the attack to take revenge from Rana’s past activities. Living in India, Jodha had made the plan a while ago. He had met Mote in Siliguri three months ago and gave an advance of Indian Rs. 50,000 for the attack. He had also given an additional Rs. 30,000 for the attack when he had recently visited Nepal. According to reports, Jodha had promised Rs. 3 million to Mote after the completion of the task.

Who attacked Rose Rana ?

‘Jaya Parshuram’ director and producer Rose Rana was attacked by Khukuri and was seriously injured in a Mid-Baneshowr restaurant. According to reports, Rose Rana tried to block the attack by his right hand and sustained serious injuries on his hand. Right after the attack, Rose Rana was rushed to Everest Hospital in Baneshowr. Because of the serious nature of the injury, he was later taken to Grande Hospital.

Who might have attacked Rose Rana ?

It is not known who attacked Rose. According to an unconfirmed report, one of them was a film director. As the names is not related, it is just a speculation. Rose Rana has a sketchy background. He is accused of running illegal business and running dance bars. So, there are a lot of people that can possibly attack him.

Namrata Shrestha, Best Actress Award Hat Trick

After winning the Best Actress Award at the D Cine Award 2016, actress Namrata Shrestha has won three Best Actress Awards in a row this year. All three awards were awarded for the acting she did in ‘Classic’. In the movie, Namrata was featured as a blind woman opposite to another blind character played by Aryan Sigdel. The actor Aryan Sigdel was also awarded the best actor award in two of those awards.

Sushmita KC TV program producer threat, Ma Ta Timrai Hoon controversy (Update)

This is video report update on the post I made a while ago. Watch the following video for the details of the case. The threat might be directed to Prakash Subedi as he is the producer of the TV program. (I have also added the video of the program in question – 35th episode of Rajatpat, at the end of this post.)

In a Facebook post, actress and the producer or recent release movie, Sushmta KC has threatened a filmy-program in TV, Rajatpat. She had expressed her dissatisfaction about the report about her movie ‘Ma Ta Timrai Hun’ aired in the program. In the report aired in the TV show, her debut production movie was a failure and it didn’t do good business.

In response, Sushmita had turned very aggressive towards the Kantipur TV program. Sushmita had registered Anmol Creation banner, a name after her son Anmol KC, to produce the movie. Although a star actor himself, Anmol wasn’t featured in the movie. The movie had featured new actors with Sushmita herself. The TV report stated that the movie was a flop. But, Sushmita claims that it had done satisfactory business. Attached below is a screeshot of the post by Sushmita.

RIP BS Thapa, Maitighar and Kanchhi director dies

The director of hit movies ‘Maitighar’, ‘Kanchhi’ and ‘Mayapriti’ has died at 7:30 AM on August 9, 2016 in Mumbai. Thapa had been living at his residence in Mumbai for some time. The last rituals of the late director was performed in Mumbai. Born to mother Laxmi Thapa and father Narayan Singh Thapa, BS Thapa was 93 years old at the time of his death.

Popularly known as BS Thapa, his real name is Bhim Sen Thapa. After the completion of his intermediate studies in Nepal, he went to Lucknow for further studies. He got married to Saraswoti Thapa while he was studying. In a few years, his wife died after giving birth to three sons and a daughter. After the death of his first wife, Thapa had married a second wife.

Salon Basnet opposite to Samragyee RL Shah in Jharana Thapa movie A Mero Hajur 2

Actor Salon Basent has been annouced to be featured oppoiste ot Samragyee RL Shah in Jharana Thapa’s debut movie as a director, ‘A Mero Hajur 2’. The sequel of another movie produced by Jharana, ‘A Mero Hajur’ was initially announced about two years ago at the 7th NEFTA Award Ceremony held in Hong Kong. Jharana had told that the ‘Dreams’ actress Samragyee RL Shah was signed in Rs. 500,000, probably the highest amount for an actress. The sign-up amount of Salon is not known.

Johnney Gentleman, Pal Shah to double the romance with Aanchal Sharma ?

A new movie titled ‘Johnney Gentleman’ is announced in a program held in Kathmandu. The movie features actor Pal Shah opposite to his real-live girlfriend (rumoured), Anchal Sharma. Both Aanchal and Pal Shah had debuted together in ‘Nai Nabhannu La 4’ and both are well known music video models.

The movie, ‘Johnney Gentleman’ is going to be directed by Nitin Chand and is a presentation of Your Style. In the event, the director Chand told that the movie is being made in a different style of presentation. The movie’s story tell how Johney becomes a gentleman. According to the director, the chocolate-style Pal in the start converts in a action-style Pal at the end of the movie.

Anmol KC to romance with Aditi Budhathoki in Kri, new actress in every movies of Anmol

Keki Adhikari graduates with a MBA degree

Nepali actress Keki Adhikari is one of the most educated artist in the Nepali movie industry. She has recently graduated with a MBA degree in Human Resources Management. The actress has also written the thesis in the film related topic. Talking in the graduation ceremony held at Yak and Yeti Hotel, Keki told, “I was worked full time as an actress while working in movies and also as a full time student during studies at the same time.”

Recently, I prepared a video about the wives of the top 10 actors in the Nepali movie industry.
