Priyanka Karki and Aawaran team clean Bagmati river for film promotion

UPDATE: A photo gallery of Priyanka Karki and Bagmati cleanup is posted in our Fashion blog. The ‘Aawaran’ team at the site included producer Anil Yonjan, director Subash Koirala and actors Priyanka, Divya Dev, Sushil Raj Pandey and Rajan Ishan. The producer Yonjan admitted that it was a publicity event, but he also added ‘If everybody clean up like us for publicity, Bagmati can get cleaner in future." The original post follows:

The team of movie ‘Aawaran’ started cleaning Bagmati river. The river considered holy and sacred has been polluted because of the disposal of sewer.

The ‘Aawaran’ team started the cleaning at 10 AM at Gothatar bridge. The cleaning is conducted in coordination with Nava Jagaran Sanstha.

The team of the movie scheduled to released on Baisakh 19, ‘Maya Gara La’ hasn’t been able to reach actress Richa Singh Thakuri for the publicity of the movie. The availability of the actress for the publicity is considered critical on the success of the movie.

By the way the unavailability of the actress has been publicized, it is more about defaming the actress than the publicity of the movie. We suspect, the movie teamÂ wants to create controversy over the actress to promote the movie. It started when the director Madan Ghimire has asked a journalist to help find his actress before the release of the movie.

Lazza agreement made Shilpa Pokharel jobless

In a latest news, the actress of Chhabi Raj Ojha film ‘Lazza’ had agreed not to do any movies until the release of the movie. The agreement might have sounded simple to Shilpa Pokharel at the time she signed up the debut movie. Now, she is facing the problem of being jobless waiting for the release. According the the agreement, Shilpa is not allowed to sign any movies or music video until ‘Lazza’ is released.

Chhabi says, in spite of the agreement, he can approve Shilpa to do movies that don’t affect his movie. Chhabi had wanted Shilpa to be the debut actress in his movie and doesn’t want any other movie claiming her to be the actress’s first movie.

The actress will promote her upcoming movie ‘Nai Nabhannu La 2’ in the movie. With Priyanka, Anubhab Regmi will also be featured in the serial. The actor and director of the serial Sitaram Kattel featured as Khadkaji will be featured with Priyanka.

Deepa wants to produce another movie, Deepak ‘not interested’ in awards

Encouraged by the success of her debut movie as a producer, Deepa Shree Niraula, told that she wants to produce another Nepali movie. Deepa revealed her desire during the nomination announcement ceremony of Box Office Film Award 2070. Deepa is one of the producers of hit movie ‘Chha Ekan Chha‘. Deepa’s partners in the movie are Deepak Raj Giri and Nirmal Sharma. Nirmal had produced other movies in the past but, ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ is the first movie he could recover his investment.

Although Deepa Shree had acted in various movies in the past and she is basically a comedy actress, she hadn’t appeared in the hit movie. The movie was nominated for 17 different awards in this year’s Box Office Film Awards.

It has been a new trend in Nepali actresses to show their underwear by wearing miniskirts in public function. The actresses who want to show off their clothes underneath, they usually wear them of contrasting colors. For example, in the following photo Jharana Thapa was seen wearing a pink underwear under her black mini-skirt. The photo was taken at the Box Office Award nomination ceremony. Jharana was also nominated for the best actress award for her role in the movie ‘Premika’.

A while ago another actress Shilpa Pokharel wore a very short skirt in a function and showed off the cloth underneath (photo at the end of the post).

Rekha Thapa didn’t show up in her movie ‘Damdar’ press meet

The producer, director and the crew members of the movie ‘Damdar’ were sad when actress Rekha Thapa didn’t show up without any clarification. The actress is finishing up her upcoming movie ‘Himmatwali’ in which she is also a director. The audio of ‘Damdar’ was released in the press meet held on March 30.

The producer Suman Bista says, "Rekha had promised to come but, didn’t come." It is the first time Suman has invested money in a movie. The actor Sabin Shrestha and actress Archana Dellala was present in the ceremony. The director Kamal Krishna also wasn’t happy on the absence of Rekha. Archana is an item dancer in the movie.

Worst movies to be awarded at the Box Office Film Award 2070, award nominations

It’s not only for the best movies or the best actors the movie award will be presented, this year’s Box Office Film Award will also be awarded to the worst movie and worst actors.

In a program to unveil the top-5 nominations for the award, the chief of the organizer, Box Office Film Club, RK Subedi told that the award ceremony will be held on Chaitra 29 at Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu. The chief guest of the ceremony will be the prime minister Sushil Koirala.

Jenisha KC in affair with a Russian boyfriend

Actress Jenisha KC has admitted that she is having an affair with a Russian boyfriend for the last three years. The actress had met the guy in her sister’s home in London when she was in London. Jenisha’s boyfriend is expected to come to Nepal soon. Jenisha has promised to introduce her boyfriend to the media when he comes in Nepal.

Manju Mahat funeral held (photos)

The funeral of the late folk singer and model Manju Mahat was held at Pashupati , Aryaghat on March 31, 2014. The President of the Constitution Assembly, Subash Chandra Nembang, also attended the funeral ceremony. Manju died on Saturday after serious injuries in a scooter accident on Thursday at Galkopakha, Thamel.

The family of deceased singer had a tussle with the vehicle owner and vehicle entrepreneurs association on the compensation after the loss of the singer. After the amount of compensation amount was agreed upon, the body of the singer was kept at the Academy hall for the last farewell.

Dinesh Sharma defends himself, says he isn’t involved in fraud

In response to the report of fraud of foreign employment of various people as film artists, actor Dinesh Sharma has told that he is not involved in any such schemes. Dinesh has released a press statement asking the responsible authority to investigate the issue and bring out the truth.

Some victims of fraud had lodged a complaint against Sharma and three others stating that the team had cheated them of Rs. 40 million in promised foreign employment in Belgium.

NAS Film Award ceremony being held in Amsterdam, very few Nepali artists participating

There aren’t any news about a Nepali film award ceremony being held in Amsterdam, Netherland. The International Nepalese Association’s seminar (NAS) and award function is being held at Namaste Restaurnat Hoofddorp on March 29 and 30, 2014.

It seems, the only Nepali actress attending the ceremony is Nisha Adhikari. Uddav Poudel, Nir Shah and Sunil Rawal are among a other few representatives of Nepali film industry attending the seminar and award ceremony.
