Rekha Thapa joins politics, now a Maoist officially (video)
The top actress of Nepali film industry, Rekha Thapa, has joined CPN (Maoist) in a formal ceremony held in the party’s office in Parisdanda. In the program held to welcome new members Rekha and CPN UML leader nad ex-minister Urmila Aryal.
In the program Rekha told that she comes from a political family and she has chosen the party as it is the only party advocating the poor.
No Rekha Thapa in Daddy’s film, Loafer
Rekha’s ex-husband Chhabiraj Ojha has started the shooting of his next movie without Rekha Thapa. The second movie of his production house Chhabiraj Films ‘Loafer’ (Lofer) is being shot in Godawari, Lalitpur.
Talking about Rekha being out of the movie, Chhabiraj told that the movie doesn’t have a role suitable for Rekha. The movie features Aryan Sigdel, Rajani KC, Dayahang Rai, and Sushil Raj pandey in main roles. The movie is being directed by Aditya Bikram Lamsal and is being shot by cinematographer Madan Kashyap Ghimire. The shooting of the movie is expected to be complete in a month and it is scheduled to release in Dashain (on Fulpati day) this year.
Hamesha premiered in a jail, releasing on 12 April with Notebook
Movies are usually premiered in theaters and hotels but, this time, a movie is premiered in a most unusual place, a jail. Rekha Thapa‘s upcoming movie, ‘Hamesha’ was premiered among 600 convicted criminals in the jail in Dillibazar. Nepali Congress leader Khum Bahadur Khadka who is serving his jail terms was also among the viewers.

Rekha Thapa supports Sumina Ghimire on phone scandal

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa has supported Sumina Ghimire and accused the journalists at onlinekhabar of creating such an environment. She accused journalists being irresponsible to the private lives of actresses and causing unnecessary tension.
In a page-long statement titled ‘We artists aren’t robots’, Rekha had quoted the incidents of the death of actress Shrisha Karki and actress Jesika Khadka (Jyoti Khadka). She also accused journalist of focusing on Namrata Shrestha on the case of the release of her sex video and not talking about the male involved in the video.

Sumina Ghimire threat
The most recent incident, actress Sumina Ghimire threatened a journalist in a very unprofessional way. She could have sent the same message more effectively by stating it in a diplomatic manner. After the release of the audio of her communication with the journalist, Sumina has shown how low she can stoop. It won’t be easy for Sumina to regain her popularity and respect in the film community.
Jharana Thapa smoking
Actress Jharana Thapa is one of the most successful actresses in the industry. In a latest photo released in her Facebook profile Jharana is seen enjoying Hukkah (Shisha) and blowing smoke in a restaurant in Kathmandu. Smoking is a personal choice but, advertising it by publicizing the photo in public is considered unprofessional. Public usually consider celebrities as their role models and some blindly copy everything their favorite celebrities do.

After the marijuana incident of Shivaratri, the relationship between Rekha Thapa and the Film Development Board (FDB) head Dharmendra Kumar Marbaita (Pappu) has been a topic of gossip in the film sector. Rekha had unsuccessfully attempted to get herself in Pappu’s place in FDB.
The FDB head Pappu had visited Dolkha with FDB employee to inspect the proposed Film city in the area on Thursday. Rekha Thapa and FDB head Pappu smoking marijuana together

The audio of Rekha Thapa’s upcoming movie ‘Hamesha’ was released in a program organized in Los Angeles, California. The audio was released during Rekha’s first US visit. A social worker, Veda Bhakta Joshi, had launched the audio in the program.

Rekha Thapa with US scarf, Nepali flag and the love of nation
After reaching the USA, Rekha Thapa had posted a few photos of hers on Facebook, wearing a scarf with UK/US flag printed on it. Some journalists had criticized Rekha for wearing such a scarf and accused her of embracing foreign lifestyle.
