The premier show of ‘Prem Geet’ was held in Jaya Nepal theater on Wednesday, February 10, evening. The director of hit movie ‘Mero Euta Sathi Chha’, Sudarshan Thapa, was appreciated by the viewers of the movie. In the premier show, artists of the film, film makers, directors and other film artists were present at Jaya Nepal.

After the show, most of the participants have told that they liked the movie. Well known film makers Chhabi Raj Ojha and Bikash Acharya had also told that they appreciated the direction of Sudarshan Thapa.
The Nepali movie ‘Chankhe Shankha Pankhe’ was released in theater on September 25, 2015. The movie featuring Sudarshan Thapa in leading role is also produced and directed by himself with producer Santosh Sen Thakuri. The movie was previously scheduled to release on May 15. But, because of April 25 earthquake, the release date was postponed. The movie was highly promoted in various avenues including some Indian websites.
The winners of the Digital Cine Award 2072, organized by Chhaya Chhabi Creation was announced in a special program held in Kathmandu on December 21, 2015. In the award ceremony, the movie ‘November Rain’ bagged the most award – a total of eight awards including the best actors, best actress, best director awards.
While ‘November Rain’ became the best movie, ‘Bhimdatta’ was awarded the Critics Award and ‘Sunpani’ became the Special Film. Late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha‘s movie ‘Kohinoor’ was awarded the public choice award. Producer and film distributor Gopal Kayastha and actress Gauri Malla were awarded with Chhaya Chhabi Film Artist honor award. Film journalist Dabbu Chhetri was awarded the Chhaya Chhabi Film Journalism Award of value Rs. 7,777.

Watch ‘November Rain’ – winner of 8 Awards including Best Movie, Best Director, Best Actors
Attached below are the songs of upcoming movie ‘Prem Geet’. The movie is scheduled to release targeting the Vealentine Day, on February 12, 2016 (another movie ‘Classic’ is also scheduled to release on the same date). The movie produced by Santosh Sen is directed by Sudarshan Thapa and features Pooja Sharma, Pradeep Khadka, Saroj Khanal, Rupa Rana, Laxmi Giri, and Rajaram Poudel in main roles. The movie is the second production of Aasusen Films after ‘Chanke Shankhe Pankhe’. The music of the movie was released in a program held in Pokhara earlier this month.
There are 5 different songs, in eight different tracks – including male and female versions of the songs. The music are composed by Arjun Pokharel.
Although his Nepal return was controversial, Saroj Khanal seems to be all set to start his acting where he had left 17-years-ago. In the short time of his return, Saroj has already signed in two movies.
According to report, Saroj will be featured in character roles in movies titled ‘Prem Geet’ and ‘Dandi Biyo’. He told, he had studied the script before deciding in the movies.
The ‘Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe’ film unit was on its way to take earthquake relief materials to Selang Bari of Sindhupalanchowk, the birthplace of director Nischal Basnet. But, the locals in Bhote Selang, about one kilometer before the destination have snatched all of it. Although they were also the earthquake victims, the film unit has expressed its sadness on being unable to reach the destination.
According to the film director Sudarshan Thapa, Bhote Selang has about 30 houses and the government had distributed about 20 sacks of rice before their materials were snatched by the residents. The locals had mistakenly thought the film unit’s material was the government assistance. Sudarshan has told that they had relief materials costing around Rs. 400,000.
To participate in the premier show of ‘Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe’ on April 17, the film production team has arrived in Bahrain on April 16. The team comprising of the actress Pooja Sharma, producer Santosh Sen, and the director Sudarshan Thapa.
The movie told to be the most costly movie to make in 2071 BS, will be released in Nepal on May 15. The Censor Board has awarded PG certificate to the movie.

Actor, producer and director Sudarshan Thapa has announced the production of two new Nepali movies in association with his partner Santosh Sen in a press meet organized in Kathmandu on April 2, 2015. The movie titled ‘Premgeet’ is a romantic love story movie featuring actress Pooja Sharma in leading role. Another movie titled ‘Meera’ will feature a new face in the leading role.
‘Chankeh Sankhe Pankhe’ trailer release
The announcement was made at the event organized to release the trailer of upcoming movie ‘Chankeh Sankhe Pankhe’. The artists of the film, Nepali film industry personalities and journalists were invited in the event. The shooting of the new movies will start after two months of the release of ‘Chankeh Sankhe Pankhe’. The movie is releasing on Jestha 1 (May 15, 2015).
The production team of ‘Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe’ have announced the release date of the movie for Jestha 1 (May 15, 2015).
Before the release in Nepal, the team will take the movie to premier in Bahrain on April 17. In addition to that, a charity show of the movie will also be held in Syangja.
This Friday, on February 27, two new movies are releasing – ‘Ajhai Pani’ and ‘Mission Paisa Reloaded’. The last film of the late director Alok Nembang, ‘Ajhai Pani’ was premiered three days before the release among film artists and journalists.
Mission Paisa 2 Reloaded
The sequel of the movie ‘Mission Paisa’ (watch the original ‘Mission Paisa’) is an action comedy movie by director Simosh Sunuwar. The movie features Nisha Adhikari, Amir Gautam, Resh Marahatta and Harshika Shrestha in leading role. The script of the film is written by Prachanda Man Shrestha and is jointly produced by madhav Wagle and Narendra Maharjan. The censor board has awarded a PG certificate to the film.
The Nepali Movie ‘Mero Euta Sathi Chha’ was released in 2010 featuring Aryan Sigdel, Jiwan Luitel and Namrata Shrestha. The Namrata’s scandal was released at the time of the release of the movie. The movie is a story of love, loss and a lesson about the important aspects of life. Actress Rekha Thapa is also featured in a special appearance in the movie. After this hit movie, the Namrata-Aryan waited for three before sharing the screen in ‘November Rain’ in 2013.

The movie directed by Sudarshan Thapa marks the start of the movies featuring the love story of the city dwellers. Before MESC, all the successful movies were made on the stories of the characters that lived in villages. After the success of MESC, other producers have also produced the successful movies featuring the love story of well-to-do families living in the city.
But, the movie is not made on an original story. Although the producers and directors haven’t disclosed it, the story of the movie is a copy of a Korean film named ‘A Millionaire’s First Love’.
The success of the movie established Sudarshan as a credible film director. After about a decade, Sudarshna’s another movie ‘Prem Geet’ was successful. Sudarshan’s latest release, ‘Ma Yesto Geet Gauchhu’ has also received positive response from the viewers.
Actress Pooja Sharma cut the birthday cake on April 30 in an event held in Kathmandu. The press meet organized to inform about upcoming movie ‘Ajhai Pani’ was also the birthday celebration ceremony. Talking at the event, Pooja told that the movie is her birthday gift.
‘Ajhai Pani’ features two well known directors – Alok Nembang and Sudarshan Thapa. Alok will direct the movie and Sudarshan will be featured in the leading role. With Sudarshan and Pooja the movie will also feature Surakshya Pant, Puspa Pant, and Bishal Dhungana. Actors Mithila Sharma, Bijaya Lama and Ramsharan Pathak will also have guest roles in the movie.
After 5 years of absence from the film industry, Alok Nembang is returning in upcoming movie ‘Ajhai Pani’. The love story movie is to be jointly produced by Sudarshan Thapa Production and Poonam Gautam.
In addition to being the producer and a well known director, Sudarshan Thapa will be featured in the leading role in the movie.
