Binita Baral – in Go Organic movement

Actress Binita Baral participated in a rally organized to raise voice against the use of harmful pesticides in agriculture. The ‘Harmful Pesticide Free Week’ is organized by the Agricultre Minsitry of the Government of Nepal and runs from Mangsir 18 to 25 (December 3 to 10). The awareness campaign tries to create awareness to the consumers about the harmful effects of pesticides in agriculture.

In a facebook post, Binita said, we should go organic and stop using pesticides in agriculture. She adds,"Pesticides are positions not medicine." She says, we should raise our voice against the poisionous substance and live a healthy life.

Rajesh Hamal debuted in a theater in Anup Baral’s Court Martial

For the first time in his acting career the top actor of Nepali movie industry, , has done a theater play. The play titled ‘Court Martial’ has started in Theater Village on Friday, November 22. The first show was done only for the press and will be open for the general public starting Saturday.

The play featuring  Rajesh Hamal, Dayahang Rai, Deeya Maskey, BS Rana, Karma, Subash Thapa and others is directed by Anup Baral. The play is written by an Indian writer, Swadesh Deepak, has been played for more than 4,000 times in four South Asian countries.

Rajesh Hamal danced in Vote Nepal Musical Tour

After conducting musical programs in 16 cities by 40 different artists, the election awareness musical tour has concluded in a program held at Durbar Square. The event organized by the Election Commission of Nepal was supported by USAID and IFES.

On the final program at Durbar Square the super star of Nepali movie industry, also danced. Other artists present in the program include comedy actors Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula, Binita Baral, Parbati Rai, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Shankar BC, Sugam Pokharel, Aim Baral, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Nisha Sunar, Pashupati Sharma, Asta Raut, RP Bhattari, Sanjeep Pradhan and others.

Haribansha Birthday celebration (photos)

Radio Audio FM Radio organized the 56th birthday celebration of comedy actor Hari Bansha Acharya it it’s studio on Nov 13, 2013. Hari Bansha was present in the ceremony with his wife Ramila. In the ceremony Hari Bansha told that he is planning to make a tele-serial featuring all the comedy artists in Nepal.

Talking about his wife Ramila Hari Bansha said, "The life with Ramila has just started. I wish I could live another half century. Once I used to wish that I could die, now I have started to love my life."

A group of film artists join Nepali Congress party

On Saturday morning some 150 artists joined Nepali Congress party. In a program held at the residence of the party president Sushil Koirala in Mahargunj, the artists were welcomed in the party.

The artists include actress Jharana Thapa, Rupa Rana, Melina Manandhar, actors Jiwan Luitel, Dhiren Shakya, Aayush Rijal, Mukesh Dhakal, and Niraj Baral. Directors Ramesh Budhathoki, Suresh Darpan Pokharel and Suraj Subba joined the party in the program. Cinematographer Purosottam Pradhan, photographer Rajiv Shrestha, singer Prakash Ojha also joined the party in the program. Other film artists include Santu Tamang, Rameshowr Karki, Prabhu Samsher JBR, Shyam Rai were also among the 150 artist in the program.

Miss Nepal Malina Joshi in the Top 15 in Miss Asia Pacific World 2013

Miss Nepal 2011, Malina Joshi, the Nepali representative to the Miss Asia Pacific World 2013 was selected one of the top 15 in the finale held in Korea on October 30. There were contestants from 50 different countries eyeing for the crown. Although Miss India Shristi Rana snatched the crown and Malina couldn’t win any runner-up titles, the selection in top 15 in itself is considered a great feat for a Nepali representative.

Other beauties in the top 15 list include Miss Australia, Miss Ukraine, Miss Vietnam, Miss India, Miss Nepal, Miss Philippines, Miss Russia, Miss Trinidad & Tobago, Miss Sweden, Miss Egypt, Miss Central Africa, Miss Kazakhstan, Miss Latvia, Miss Mozambique, and Miss Mongolia.

D Cine Award – Rekha Thapa and Jiwan Luitel best actors

Nepali actress Rekha Thapa has won the best actress award in HTV Filmykhabar D Cine Award. Rekha was awarded the award for her role in her movie ‘Lanka’. The best actor award was awarded to Jiwan Luitel for his role in ‘Notebook’. In the best movie category, ‘Rhythm’ was awarded the best in the year.

In this year’s award, ‘Maya’s Bar’, ‘Rhythm’ and ‘Notebook’ bagged most of the awards.

A sad news for the female fans of Aryan Sigdel – he is now engaged to his girlfriend Sapana Bhandari. Aryan and Sapana had been seeing each other for the last five years.

Dashain celebration of Nepali artists, celebrities

Dashain is the biggest festival in Nepal. The festival is known for meeting family members, eating, playing and enjoying.

A lot of Nepali are working in foreign land and they can’t go back home in the festival, so some Nepali artists have gone to the foreign lands to make the foreign bound Nepali at home. Hostel, 51 days success party held in Kathmandu

One of the most successful films of the current time, ‘Hostel’ makers have organized a success party in Kathmandu on the celebration of it’s 51 days in theater. According the the producer, Sunil Rawal, most of the film personalities, journalists and artists were invited to the party held at Siddhartha Party Palace in Banesowr.

16 new movies to premier in the Ekadeshma Film Festival

In a short films festival, Ekadeshma Film Festival, 16 new Nepali films are going to premier. The detailed program schedule of the film festival was unveiled in a press meet held in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The film festival organized by Underground Talkies starts on September 27 and runs through September 29, 2013 in QFX Kumari, Kamalpokhari. In the festival, 26 Nepali and foreign films are going to be featured in three main categories – Nepali Section (Phoolko Mala), Manhattan Section (Hirako Mala), and Student Section (Sunko Mala) in QFX Kumari and Sarbanam Theater. The winner of Nepali Section winner will be awarded Rs. 30,000 cash prize and free post production facilities. The winner of Student Section will receive Rs. 20,000 in cash prize. The selection of the winner will be based on the votes of the viewers of the movies.

Rekha Thapa revealed a secret social work on her birthday

On her 30th birthday Rekha Thapa didn’t organized a celebration party but, called a small informal meeting with journalist in Indreni Foodland, Maharajgunj. In the meeting, she presented three of the five children she had been supporting for the last two years.

Rekha told that she had started supporting five violence affected children for the on her birthday two years ago. She told that she had been supporting the children by providing all their requirements including place to live, food, education and health. Rekha told, "I have earned the name and fame from movies. Now, I want to support the society by doing social works."
