The trailer of one of the most awaited movies in the Nepali movie industry is releasing today. The lead actor and the son of one of the producers of the movie, Anmol KC has also confirmed that the trailer is releasing today. Attached is the new poster of the movie featuring Anmol KC and Aditi Budhathoki in an embrace:
The posters released earlier featured Anmol KC in action avatar. The release date of the movie is also confirmed as February 9. Because of the possible competition, another movie scheduled to release on that day, ‘Kanchhi’ has decided to delay its release by a week. I had prepared a video report about the delay in the release of the Shweta Khadka movie.
Right after the election results were started to indicate that the Nepali Congress has lost the election, the prime ministers, Sher Bahadur Deuba, made some controversial decisions like appointing the Film Development Board (FDB) chief. The newly appointed chief, Nikita Poudel, is the daughter of Uddav Poudel, the owner of Gopi Krishna theatre and film producer. After the news of the appointment of Poudel, the president of the Film Directors Association, Suchitra Shrestha, wrote that Nikita had paid Rs. 5 million to the Minister of Information to get the appointment. She wrote, “When one appointment cost 50,00,000 (50 Lakh) how can Congress win…”
The decision to appoint Nikita was made on the cabinet meeting held on December 11, 2017. In the meeting the minister of Information Mohan Basnet had proposed Nikita Poudel for the post. The proposal was approved by the meeting. Apart from being a businessman, Nikita’s father is also the secretary of Kamal Thapa’s Rastriya Prajatantra Party. The clash between two of the most awaited movies of the year has been avoided after ‘Kanchhi’ decided to re-schedule the release date of the movie. Earlier, both ‘Kri’ and ‘Kanchhi’ had announced the release of the movie on February 9, 2018. Anmol’s highly awaited movie was delayed more than once before. I had also prepared a video report on the release date controversy earlier (video attached at the end of the post.)
Now, Shweta Khadka, has told that she is willing to get flexible and let ‘Kri’ release on that day. The new schedule, a week later, on February 16, 2018 isn’t risk-free either. That is because, Chhabi Raj Ojha’s movie ‘Mangalam’ is also releasing on February 16. Chhabi’s movie was previously scheduled to release on Dashain but was delayed to let ‘Chhakka Panja 2’ to release at that time. Although ‘Kanchhi’ has more publicity because of the sympathy towards Shweta, the widow of late Shree Krishna Shrestha, Chhabi’s movie can’t be undermined. Known as one of the top producers in the movie industry, most of Chhabi’s movie are successful.
Talking about the rescheduling, Shweta told, “I din’t want to clash with another movie like that. When I tried to contact the ‘Kri’ team they didn’t respond. Then, I decided to change the date.”
‘Kanchhi’ is directed by the director of ‘Kohinoor’, Aakash Adhikari. The movie features Dayahang Rai and Shweta Khadka in leading role.
It has only been two years, I wrote and made a video about the marriage of actress Reema Bishowkarma with Robert BK. It is a shocking news that her husband has engaged to Barsha Rasaili of Morang. Reema or Robert hadn’t told anything about their relationship recently. According to the sources close to Reema, she wasn’t happy by the marriage recently. She had told about the possibility of divorce. Another source says that it has been two weeks since Reema and Robert formally divorced. After the divorce, Robert had engaged with Barsha.

Well, Nikhil has two wives. Although he is still married to both of them, he is seen mostly with Sanchita and his children with her. The eldest son, from his first wife, seem to be left out. I made this conclusion based on the review of the Facebook profiles of Sanchita Luitel and Kopila Upreti. While Sanchita is sharing photos of Nikhil with his children in her profile, Kopila doesn’t share photos of Nikhil with his son. As Nikhil doesn’t have a Facebook account, his wives are the sources of his information.

In the second phase of the first election for the federal and states parliament of the Federal Republic of Nepal was held on December 6, 2017. In the election, the voters of 45 districts voted for their representatives in the legislative bodies. Most of the celebrities have voted in the election. After getting married on Sunday, December 3, Nepali actor Raj Ballav and his newly wed Pratima Bimali organized a reception party in the USA. In the party, various Nepali film industry personalities were present. In one of the photos shared by Raj Ballav after the party, actresses Nandita KC, Richa Ghimire and Arunima Lamsal are seen present. Among the actors, Mukesh Dhakal, Bimalesh Adhikari and Mukesh Acharya were present. In the photo, Arunima’s mother Radha Lamsal and Dilip Rayamajhi’s wife and director Prasanna Poudel are also seen.

The Miss Nepal 2009, Zenisha Moktan, is expecting her first baby this month (in December 2017). A traditional baby shower was organized by the ex-Miss Nepals for Moktan in which seven Miss Nepal showed up. Including Zenisha there are eight Miss Nepal in the following photo:

Aryan Sigdel’s beautiful wife Sapana Bhandari has turned 28 years old. On every birthday she makes a resolution for the year. Last year, in her 27th birthday I made a video report about Sapana and her relationship with Aryan Sigdel.
I had prepared a video about Sapana last year, on her 26th birthday. The question I raised last year is still the same. This year, she has replied that they are planning for a baby. Which might be an indication that Sapana is not going to be an actress. In addition to that, Sapana has also told an online magazine that she might consider going for PhD. But, she hasn’t made a concrete plan for further studies yet.
A MBA graduate, Sapana is also planning to start something new (probably a business). The details of the plan is yet to be unveiled. Bhandari told that the details will be made public in near future.
Nepali actor, Raj Ballav Koirala has married his long-time girlfriend, Pratima Bimalli on December 3, 2017 in Washington DC. Like a lot of Nepali artists, actor Raj Ballav Koirala is also living in the USA for the last few years. Raj Ballav and Pratima were preparing for the marriage after they got engaged in September, earlier this year.

Who is Pratima Bimali?
Originally from Jhapa, East Nepal, Pratima and her family had been living in the USA for some time. According to her Facebook profile, Pratima lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her parents.
A Biomedical Engineer by profession, Pratima had graduated from the College of Biomedical Engineering and Applied Sciences in Nepal. She has been working for Medtronic as a Supplier Quality Engineer since October of 2015. Pratima and Raj Ballav were seeing each other for a long time (they are yet to disclose the actual love story details.)
At the time of election, every citizen are inclined towards one political force or the others. But, as the voting in an election is secret and people don’t need to tell who they have voted for, one doesn’t need to tell about political inclination. But, the artists we are active politically have to show their artistic talent for the party or the candidate they endorse. Here are the list of popular artists and their political inclination.
Komal Oli – RPP to UML
Singer and journalist Komal Oli decided to go into full time politics and resigned from the Radio Nepal job a while ago. But, as soon she was elected the central committee member of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) the party divided into two parties. After that, she decided to join CPN UML. Although Komal wasn’t allowed to represent the party in the election Now, she is promoting the party in the election.
Komal Oli had expected to get ticket to represent CPN UML at the Dang Constituency 3 in the election. But, things didn’t go as she expected. Now, she is participating in the election campaign. Based on her previous stances, there is no gurantee that she will continue to represent the party.
Radhika Hamal – Nepali Congress
Well known singer Radhika Hamal has chosen Nepali Congress to sing the election songs. Hamal had also participate in the local election but, was defeated.
Hamal is asking the people to vote for the candidates of Congress in the current election.
Badri Pangeni, CPN UML
Well known singer of ‘Sasurali ma’ and other popular folk singer is affiliated to CPN UML and Bam Gathabandhan in this election. He sings songs promoting the party, the leaders KP Oli and Prachanda. He says that he is not worried about being tagged a party-singer because he had been doing that for the last 23 years.
Although he will be singing election songs during the election, he will still be a singer and will sing for the people and art.
Manoj Gajurel – UML and Maoist
Known for his comedy caricature, Manoj Gajurel is also asking the people to vote for CPN UML and CPN Maoist candidates in the election. He has been active member of CPN UML in the past and he is open about his political inclination.
Manoj says that an artist is free to choose the political party they support. He also believes his fans won’t be disappointed because of his political activities.
Karishma Manandhar (Naya Shakti)
Actress Karishma has transformed herself from a fully devoted actress to a fully devoted political leader after joining Naya Shakti party of Baburam Bhattarai. Although the party is yet to be recognized by the people, she is actively campaigning for the party and its leaders. She is also one of the candidate in the election.
A lot of members of the new party left Baburam after a while, Karishma is still with Baburam. The artists who joined the party with Karishma – Saroj Khanal and Ashok Sharma are not active in the party activities. Karishma is giving her full time to the party and expects to return to film industry after the election.
Rekha Thapa, Not sure
Actress Rekha Thapa’s political inclination has been very unstable. She entered CPN Maoist at the time of the second election of the CA. But, her candidacy was withdrawn when she wasn’t registered as a voter. A while ago she left the party and joined RPP with Komal Oli. While Komal Oli has left the party Rekha decided to leave Kamal Thapa and join the party faction of Pashupati Shumsher JBR.
Rekha’s activities in political parties seem to be having negative impact in her popularity. The proof is her latest release, ‘Rudrapriya’. Although the movie features two of the top actors of the Nepali film industry, people didn’t go to theatre to watch it.
In the election, Rekha went to Sindhpalchowk in the election campaign of Pashupati Shumsher.
Actor Nir Shah is an active Nepali Congress supporter. But, Shah isn’t seen in the election campaigns.
The political activities of the past include Nawal Khadka and Deepak Shrestha. Nawal Khadka is affiliated with the CPN Maoist and he had also made movies for the party. But, his movies were not much successful. Khadka is actively participating in the election campaigns. Director Deepak Shrestha is also actively participating the election campaigns of Bam Gathabandan.
Musician Chetan Sapkota is also one of the supporters of Maoist party. He also helped a lot of artists to join the party. But, these days, Sapkota is not seen in election campaigns.
Actress Samragyee RL Shah is currently in Australia for the premier of her second movie, ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ with the director and producer of the movie, Jharana Thapa. The red attire Samragyee wore in the premier of the show made news for it boldness. Samragyee has also recently shared some swimsuit poses. The bikini avatar is probably the first such pose of the actress.
The high-rated actress of the current time, Samragyee is also one of the highest paid actress in the film industry. Samragyee was reportedly paid Rs. 500,000 for the role she did in her second movie ‘A Mero Hajur 2’. Recently she was reportedly paid twice that amount in her upcoming movie with Aryan Sigdel. Although Samragyee refused to confirm or deny the amount, she had confirmed she was considering doing the movie. Samragyee debuted in Bhuwan KC’s movie ‘Dreams’ opposite to Anmol KC. After the success of the movie, she has established herself as one of the most sought after actress in the film industry.

The Richa Sharma – Chhakka Panja scandal has attained a new height after actress Priyanka Karki apologized but Deepak Raj Giri continues to attack so-called female activists like Richa Sharma. In the ‘Firke’ event held in Kathmandu to release the trailer, Deepak made his views in the issue in the public function. It is an coincidence that actress Richa Sharma is the leading actress in the movie.
Deepak told, “We are in film business and film religion. No films are loved by everybody. People can have their negative or positive views.” He also added, “Earning a lot of money doesn’t prove that the movie is good.”
About the framework of a movie, Deepak told that the movie shows bad things of the society in the beginning and the bad things are corrected as the story progresses. He added, “I don’t know if pouring beer on a woman falls under female dominance or not. But, there are movies that show such scenes.” He told that the movie ‘Chhakka Panja’ is not against womenkind. That was what actress Priyanka Karki started with in a 500+ words apology letter (in English alone). She was concerned that people might min-interpret it and has also translated the whole text in Nepali language. I don’t know why she decided it was a good idea to present her thought in two languages, it is clear that she has thought about it for a long time and had taken effort to compose the statement.
Before I share Priyanka’s statement, the background information:
Actress Richa Sharma talked in a program held in Kathmandu about why she didn’t like ‘Chhakka Panja’ movie and why it was against womenkind. In response, the makers of the movie attacked Richa by accusing her of telling the viewers ‘fools’ and telling her to ‘get well soon’. There were divided views on who was right. In my Twitter poll, majority of my followers thought Richa was right and ‘Chhakka Panja’ team was wrong to attack Richa.
In response, Richa claimed that she never told the viewers were fools and she was only advocating the better representation of women in films. After Richa’s statement, Richa got all the sentiment and people went against Deepak, Deepa and ‘Chhakka Panja’ team.
