Aryan Sigdel to do become a gangster in Naaike

Director from Pokhara, Netra Gurung, has announced his new movie ‘Naaike’ during a press meet organized in Pokhara. The leas actor of the movie will be Aryan Sigdel, who will be featured as the leader of a gang. The actress of the movie is yet to be finalized. Other actors in the movie include Rem BK and Bodhraj Regmi.

The movie ‘Naaike’ is going to be made on a story of gangster and is being produced by Jagdish Khanal, Anandsharan Chhetri, Narayan Khanal, Sangita Parjuli and Resha Gurung. The executive producer is Bishnu Hamal and the banner is The Black Shadow. The director Gurung has also written the story of the movie.

Prakash Ojha debut movie as a director, Traash releasing on January 3

After two weeks of no-release of Nepali movies, a thriller comedy movie ‘Trash’ is going to release in theater this Friday on January 3, 2014.

The movie directed by comedy singer Prakash Ojha features Nirajan Luitel, Ayub KC, Anu Shah, Riya Shrestha and others. The movie will release in theaters all over Nepal. The lead actor Nirajan is the younger brother of actor Jiwan Luitel. The movie will also have an special appearance of Jharana Thapa.

Mukhauta first look released on the new year day

Wishing everybody "a joyous and a prosperous new year 2014," the ‘Mukhauta’ team has released the first look poster of the movie. One of the posters asks everyone to "Join hands in bidding farewell to another memorable and successful year 2013."

‘Mukhauta’ is directed by Arpan Thapa and features himself and actress Nisha Adhikari in the leading roles. The poster features cartoon faces of the two actors.

Biteka Pal to get a trim in length before the release on Jan 10

After the premier show, the film makers of ‘Biteka Pal’ have collected the views and suggestions of the viewers to make it better. The movie is one of the four movies releasing on January 10, 2013.

Although the director Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ was appreciated for making a good movie and the actress Keki Adhikari for her acting skills, some have complained that the movie has some unnecessary and confusing scenes. In a report, the producer Rajesh Ghatani has told that the length of the movie will be trimmed by 20 minutes to incorporate the suggestion of the expert viewers. In a Facebook message, Ghatani told that he has considered the suggestions of the viewers his New Year’s present.

No film artist to represent in the CA

When the Constituent Assembly (CA) membership hopeful film directors Deepak Shrestha and Himgyap Lama couldn’t make it to the CPN (Maoist) list, there will be no film artists to represent in the current CA.

They were included in the preliminary list of CA members under the proportional representation (PR) electoral system. In the similar way, actor Bhuwan KC also couldn’t make it to the list of CPN (UML). Bhuwan has organized a press meet in protest of being rejected twice by the party.

Biteka Pal premier show held in Kathmandu, Keki appreciated for her role

The premier show of upcoming movie ‘Biteka Pal’ was held in Kathmandu on December 29, 2013. After the show, most of the viewers have appreciated the movie. The movie directed by Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ features Keki Adhikari, Baboo Bogati, and Abinash Gurung in lead roles.

In the premier show held in City Center, Darjeeling resident actor Abinash was also present. He had travelled from Darjeeling to Kathmandu for the premier show. Other noted personalities in the show include Hari Bansha Acharya and his wife, Maoist leader Barshaman Pun, Yuvaraj Lama, producer Rajkumar Rai, director Bikash Acharya, Suresh Darpan Pokharel and others. Chha Ekan Chha team distribute jackets to street children

‘Chha Ekan Chha’ movie team are currently promoting the movie by doing different promotional activities. Recently the team was seen distributing jackets to street children. Considering the hardship of the street children during the cold days, the movie team distributed jackets with the films’ name written on them.

Some income of Parai to be donated to Shiva Regmi family

The producer of ‘Parai’, Govinda Shahi, has told that a portion of the income made by the movie will go to the director’s family. ‘Parai’ director Shiva Regmi had died earlier this month after kidney failure.

The producer told, "15 percent of the collection made by the movie in theater all over Nepal on the release day, Friday will be donated to Shiva Regmi family and Shiva Regmi Trust." Half of the amount goes to Shiva’s family and the remaining half to the Trust. The movie is going to release in theaters on December 27.

NFDC award, second 4-monthly nomination released

Nepal Film Development Company (NFDC) started the National Film Award last year and it has started nominating the best artists every 4 months. The final nomination will be compiled from these nominations. The current nomination is based on the movies released in the last four months (Bhadra 1 to Mangsir end) in theaters.

‘Soongava’ couldn’t make it to the Oscars competition

The movie selected by the Nepali selection committee to represent Nepal in the Academy Awards, Oscars, couldn’t make it to the short-listing. The movie made on a lesbian love story, ‘Soongava’ was selected by a Nepali committee for the Oscars competition to compete in the Best Foreign Movie category.

The Oscars Awards organizer The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science has recently released the list of movies short-listed for the final competition. Nepali movie is  not in the list.

Two actresses Priyanka Karki and Hema Shrestha do an item dance in Hasiya

In an upcoming movie, ‘Hasiya’ two actresses – Priyanka Karki and Hema Shrestha are featured as item girls. The shooting of the movie has recently concluded. One of the item dancers, Hema is the lead actress of the movie.

11th KIMFF, short film festival running in Kathmandu

The eleventh edition of Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) is running in Kathmandu since December 11 and will conclude on December 15. The film festival features 47 short films from 20 countries all over Nepal in the City Hall, Kathmandu.

On the inauguration day, Wednesday, a short film by Shahara Sharma ‘Indreni Khodai Janda’ was premiered. The film is made on the struggle of three sisters.

Samyam Puri to be Punte in Punte Parade

The producer of ‘I am Sorry’, Hari Lamsal, has announced a new movie titled ‘Punte Parade’. The movie to be made on a social drama story will feature actor Samyam Puri in the leading role. Samyam is going to be featured as an 18-years-old guy who has his own vision of the society and the environment.
