A movie produced by Sudarshan Thapa and Pooja Sharma features Pooja with Aakash. The couple is one of the most popular couples of the Nepali film industry.
The vehicle Takme Budha, Wilson Bikram Rai, met with a dangerous accident in Morang. Takme Budha was returning from Madhumalla Mahotsab at Morang to Birtamod at around 12 AM on Tuesday. According to producer and actor Rajesh Ghatani, the accident was caused by a stray dog. The vehicle lost control when, the driver, Wilson tried to save the dog on road.
In the accident, the vehicle Hyundai I-10, BA 17 Cha 1902 overturned beside the road. In addition to Wilson and Ghatani, there were Bishal Limbu, Yukesh Limbu, Samil Rai and child artist Jeshika Rai. Everybody safe although the vehicle sustained damage and was overturned, landing on the roof. See the following photo:
On November 10, 2017 four new Nepali movies have released in theatre. It is a very competitive release for some of the highly expected movies in the film industry. All single word named movies – ‘Meela’, ‘Tyandro’, ‘Sakash’ and ‘Romeo’ will sustain a damage because of the competition among each other. In terms of the star cast, none of the movie should be missed. ‘Mela’ has Salon Basnet, Amesh Bhandari and Ashishma Nakarmi; ‘Romeo’ has Oshima Banu, Nisha Adhikari and Melina Manandhar to watch for; ‘Tyandro’ features Dayahang Rai and is directed by Samten Bhutiya; ‘Sakash’ has Sushma Karki and Mahima Silwal with Wilson Bikram Rai.

On this Friday (June 2, 2017) two new Nepali movies were released – record breaking film ‘Jaalo’ and Takme Budha’s movie ‘Rato Ghar’. These two films are of different genres – one is a crime thriller and another is a comedy film. It is a coincidence that both the movies feature a common actress – Menuka Pradhan.

The comedy movie made on a gangster story was premiered a day before release on Wednesday. About ‘Adhakatti’
The movie ‘Adhakatti’ is a presentation of Pradeep Kumar Udaya. The music director of the movie is Rajan Ishan, lyrics by Ranjit Acharya, Kiran Michael, Bijaya Adhikari, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj, Suren Basel and guest music director is Basanta Sapkota.
The cinematographer is Hari Ghale Lama, the editors are Banish Shah and Milan Shrestha, the action by Roshan Shrestha, screenplay by Bijaya Adhikari on the story of Subas Dhakal. The dialogue is written joinlty by Subrat, Jaya and Bijaya.
The Film Artists Association of Nepal (FAAN) organized the first ever film awards in Kathmandu on July 2, 2016. In the award ceremony ‘Pashupati Prasad’ was awarded the best movie of the year. The awards were awarded in 24 different categories. The prime minister, KP Oli, was the chief guest of the event.
The actor and the actress of ‘Classic’ Aryan Sigdel and Namrata Shrestha were awarded the best actor and actress of the year in the ceremony. The director and writer of the best movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’, Dipendra K Khanal and Bipin Karki were awarded the best director and the best writer respectively.
On the 9th Republic Day, Nepal Government has honored four film artists by Prabal Janasewa Award. According to the press release by the Ministry of Home, the artists awarded by the award are:
The artists are honored for their contribution to their field. The artists will be awarded in a special program to be held later. The president Bidhya Devi Bhandari will hand over the awards to all the award winners.
In addition to the artists, singer Aani Choying Dolma is also awarded by another award in the same list. She is awarded the award for her contribution in social work sector.
The Bollywood film industry is considered one of the largest film industry in the world. The movie industry has gone worldwide because of the popularity of the movies. The opportunity to be a part of the film industry is very difficult. In such an environment, few Nepali artists have established themselves as credible artists. The movie ‘Killa’ was released last year in theater. The movie presented by Subash Meche features the music of Bikash Chaudhary, cinematography by Saurav Lama, editing by Banish Shah, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj and action by Himal KC.
Because of the political issues in the movie, the Censor Board had rejected it and had asked to re-shot some of the scenes. The Board had asked the film makers to make it neutral in terms of supporting a political party.
The actor of Nepali film industry Sunil Thapa is going to be featured in a Bollywood movie with actress Bipasha Basu in ‘Bhai Must be Crazy’. The actor popularly known as Takme Budha, Wilson Bikram Rai, will also be featured in the movie with Sunil Thapa. The movie is going to be directed by Vinay Sharma.
The movie was initially planned to be shot in Nepal. But, because of the Indian blockade and shortage of fuel and cooking gas, the shooting has been affected. A 45-days long shooting is now scheduled in Thailand at the end of January. According to report, Sunil Thapa has already signed the agreement but, Wilson is yet sign the agreement.
The trailer and first look poster of the movie produced and directed by Suraj Subba Nalbo, ‘Rato Ghar’ is released online. The movie is made on the story of drug dealing with comedy and action as the main ingredients of entertainments.

The second biggest festival in Nepal after Dashain, Tihar has been wrapped up on Friday November 13. The last day of Tihar – Bhai Tika is celebrated by brothers and sisters to show their love and dedication to each other. On the occasion, despite of economic blockade from India, people have followed the tradition. Update
The beauty of Bhai Tika is that people make new brothers and sisters during the festival. For example, Takme Budha (Wilson Bikram Rai) and Ashma DC and Sanyukta Puri, Jal Shah and Bikrant Basnet, Nisha Sunar and Suman Budha Magar, Naresh Bhattarai and Sapana Chamling Rai became new brothers/sisters this year.
Singer, journalist and actress Komal Oli made this year’s Bhai Tika memorable by presenting 2-litres petrol to each of her brothers. At the time of petrol-crisis in Nepal, that would certainly made the happiest brothers.
Comedy actress Palpasa Dangol, popularly known as Chamsuri has urine infection and was rushed to emergency room in Teaching Hospital right before Bhai Tika. As she had to be treated in the hospital, her brothers visited Dangol in hospital bed to take Bhai Tika. Palpasa has told that that was one of the most memorable Bhai Tika in her life.
The producers of ‘Novmeber Rain’ are starting the making of the next project titled ‘Classic’. The song recording of the movie featuring Namrata Shrestha and Aryan Sigdel in leading role and Wilson Bikram Rai in supporting role, has started on March 31 in Cinezone Studio, Kathmandu.
The movie features the music of Taraprakash Limbu and is being made on the direction of Dinesh Raut. On the first day of song recording singers Yubaraj Chaulagain and Melina Rai gave voice to the song. In the event cinematographer Rajesh Shrestha and producers Subash Giri and Kamal Giri were also present.
