First look poster of Lazza released

The first look poster of upcoming movie by noted film maker Chhabi Raj Ojha, ‘Lazza’ is released.

The movie scheduled to release on Kartik 7 (October 24, 2014) features Aryan Sigdel and Shilpa Pokharel in lead role. The movie directed by Nawal Nepal is the third movie under Chhabiraj Films banner.

After the divorce with Rekha Thapa, Chhabi had registered the production banner under his own name. The first movie under the banner, was ‘Hamesha‘ which was jointly produced by Chhabiraj Films and Rekha Films.

Rajesh Hamal proposes Madhu Bhattarai in the first public appearance together

In an event organized in Kathmandu actor Rajesh Hamal proposed his long time girlfriend Madhu Bhattarai. Rajesh offered a ring to Madhu in the program held at Shankar Hotel Kathamndu.

This was the first time the top actor was seen together with Madhu in a public function. The invited journalists in the program were asked to wait for half-an-hour before allowing in the room.

Rajesh Hamal talks Madhu Bhattarai and everything about his love life

In an interview for the promotion of his upcoming movie ‘Hasiya’, Rajesh Hamal visited the studio of News24 television with the producer Milan Chams. At the time when Rajesh is in the final stage of marriage, the talk was more focused on his life rather than the movie.

Adhakatti unit waiting Namrata Shrestha to wrap up the shooting

The shooting of the movie by Subrat Acharya, ‘Adhakatti’ was halted when actress Namrata Shrestha became sick and had to undergo surgery. The ‘Adhakatti’ team is expecting to complete shooting soon as Namrata has returned back to Kathmandu after resting in Pokhara for some time.

‘Adhakatti’ features an item dance of the actress. The director Acharya says that the shooting of everything except the item dance titled ‘Hey Namrata…’ has finished.

Censor Board now includes actress Melina Manandhar and director Suresh Darpan

The Censor Board of Nepal has been criticized for censoring movies unnecessarily. The Minister of Information and Communication, Dr. Minendra Rijal has added three new members in the board. Three new members include the CEO of film distributor, Darshana Arts and director Suresh Darpan Pokharel, actress Melina Manandhar and Bimal Sangraula.

All three new members are the member of Nepali Congress party. By the politics involved, the decision seems to be influenced by the political affiliation rather than making the Board effective.

‘Euta Sathi’ shooting resumes after 4 months

The shooting of the journalist Laxman Subedi’s debut movie, as a director, ‘Euta Sathi’ has resumed on Baisakh 25 after a delay of 4 months because of an internal dispute. The dispute had caused a reshuffling of the production team.

In the first day of the shooting actor John Tamang and actress Anu Shah shot a scene. After completion of two days of shooting in Kathmandu, the team is scheduled to head towards Sauraha, Narayangad. The shooting at Narayangad and Kulekhani in Hetauda is expected to complete in a week. Rest of the shooting will be completed in Kathmandu location. The director Laxman Subedi says that the movie is a colorful story.

Rajesh Hamal confirms the marriage to be held in weeks

Actor Rajesh Hamal has finally confirmed the date of his marriage (as he promised). After a long affair with model Madhu Bhattarai of Dharan, Hamal has finalized the date after numerous delays.

Hamal is planning to propose Madhu on May 14, 2014 in a candle light dinner. Madhu will accept his proposal. After the acceptance, Hamal will present Madhu with a special present from his mother and the details of the marriage ceremony will be finalized.

Friday release – Damdar, Red Monsoon and Aakal

This Friday, on May 9, three new Nepali movies are releasing in theater. Kamal Krishna movie ‘Damdar’, Eelum Dixit presentation ‘Red Monsoon’ and Nir Shah movie ‘Aakal’ are competing to win the hearts of the Nepali viewers in theaters all over Nepal.

Red Monsoon

Well known theater director Eelum Dixit is debuting in big screen movie in ‘Red Monsoon’. Eelum is a well known director of telefilms and theater plays who had completed bachelor in film acting and direction in New York. The movie is the retelling of a short story titled ‘Sharan’ by Karuna Sharma.

The movie tells the story of struggling young generation in Kathmandu. The movie features Himali Dixit, Sandip Chhetri, Sarita Giri, Shristi Ghimire and Hari Bansha Acharya in main roles. The director Eelum has written the script and dialogue of the movie produced by US film makers.

MaHa Jatra 2071 starting on May 9

On Wednesday, May 7 a press meet was organized at Briks CafÃ© in Kupondole, Lalitpur to inform about MaHa Jatra 2071. The stage show of the popular comedy duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya is being organized after a long time.

In the press meet Rajaram Poudel and Kiran KC had proposed to term the duo the ‘Hasya Samrat’. In response, Haribansha told that they were content with the title ‘MaHa’ for now. He also told that it was Rajaram who had first called them MaHa during the stage show ‘Bigyapan’. After that, the duo is known as MaHa – a word meaning honey in Nepali.

Not-much-Damdar, the promotion of Rekha Thapa movie

The promotion of Rekha Thapa‘s upcoming movie ‘Damdar’, releasing on this Friday is nothing like the name. Although the producer Suman Bista and the director Kamal Krishna are promoting the movie according to their might, the lead actor Sabin Shrestha and actress Rekha Thapa aren’t seen doing their part.

Sabin says that he is promoting the movie on his own but, the film production team hasn’t contacted him for the promotion. Rekha Thapa is also busy promoting her own movie ‘Himmatwali’, scheduled to release after 6 months.

Mukhauta audio launch, Nisha Adhikari defends use of foul language in movies

Namrata Shrestha connects to her fans in Facebook and Twitter

In an interview with the Annapurna Post reporter actress Namrata Shrestha has told that she had been connecting to her fans through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. She told, her fans are of positive attitude and they are the only reason she is still active in the field. In the olden days, it wasn’t that easy. Celebrities meet their fans in person, took some photographs and offer autographs – that was all. They didn’t have a two way communication.

Namrata admitted, she gets a lot of proposals from her fans. Some even want to marry her and have kids. Others just want to be friends. But, she takes such proposals positively and says ‘thank you’ to them.

Seesha to release on August 8

Naresh Poudel and Chhabi Raj Ojha patched up after 10 years

The relationship between ex-partners Naresh Poudel and Chhabi Raj Ojha hadn’t been that good for the last 10 years. After the production of ‘Dhadkan’ (Watch ‘Dhadkan’) Naresh and Chhabi had drifted apart.

Chhabi and Naresh met 22-years ago and they had worked together as close friends for 12 years. Although it is not official, rumor is that Chhabi and Naresh loved the same girl and she was the reason for the breakup. The identity of the girl can only be guessed. Mithila Sharma to get married to Motilal Bohara, signed in The Rebirth

Nepali actress aged half-a-century, Mithila Sharma, is reportedly getting married this year. 74-years-old ex-police chief, Motilal Bohara said to be the groom of the actress. The rumor of an affair between Motilal and Mithila had been going on in the Nepali movie industry for some time. When Bohara’s wife died last year, the path of union between the two opened up.
