Nepali political play ‘Loktantra’ is a presentation of Performing Arts Creation, by Mountain Fire Theater Group. The play is written by well known film personality Mohan Niraula. Adharsha Ghimire is the assistant director of the play. The play was played at Sarbanam theater.

The Nepali movie ‘Sukha Dukha’ is a presentation of Cine Kala Movies by Birendra Narayan Shrestha. The movie is directed by late director Shiva Regmi. Produced by Prabh Shreatha and Suraj Pradhan, the movie is also written by Shiva Regmi himself. The movie is made on a heart touching story on a social drama featuring the clash between the three generations of a family.
Tulsi Ghimire and Jaya Prakash Rijal are the guest artists in the movie and Sanjog Shrestha is featured as a child artist. Other notable artists in the movie include Ramchandra Adhikari, Birendra Hamal and Sushil Pokharel. Cinematography by Sambhu Sapkota, music by Sambhujit Baskota,

The popular movie ‘Jhola’ was released in YouTube by an unauthorized party. The film production team has lodged a complaint against the owner of Mountain River Films Pvt. Ltd., Chandrakanta Jha, at the Police station, Hanumandhoka. According to the film production team, the company had uploaded the copy of the movie provided to the company for foreign shows.
After the complaint, the police’s attempt to to arrest Jha wasn’t successful as he is currently in New Delhi. The police has already taken control of the computer and other equipment from company’s office at Kalikasthan for investigation.
The songs of the upcoming movie of actress Rekha Thapa under her banner Rekha Films, ‘Rampyari’ is attached for your entertainment. The audio jukebox has three songs from the movie. The movie is scheduled to release on the last Friday of the year 2072 BS – on Chaitra 27 (April 8, 2016). Rekha’s ex-husband’s movie ‘Kismat 2’ is also expected to release on the same date.
The movie ‘Rampyari’ features Rekha in the role of a three-wheeler driver and is based on a real person. The movie directed by Shabir Shrestha features Sabin Shrestha opposite to Rekha Thapa and also introduces Rekha’s nephew Aavash Adhikari opposite to actress Ashma DC.
The Bollywood actress, Sunny Leone, has arrived in Kathmandu Saturday to promote a vodka brand. While the whole country is having a hardship of the lack of fuel, cooking gas, and medicine; the Indian star is promoting the liquor in Kathmandu. To add to the hardship, a political party has also called a Nepal Bandh on Novmeber 29, Sunday to protest against the Indian blockade.

Sunny was invited by a new vodka brand Xing. Sunny is the brand ambassador of the brand. Upon her arrival, Sunny performed a sensuous dance at Casino Mahjong in Kathmandu. Sunny performed in a sexy red attire.
It seems, Sunny’s Nepali visit was very short. According to Sunny’s Twitter post, she has already left for Mumbai. She has thanked Nepal, “for your great hospitality and warm hearts. I love that I am able to walk around your city and discover new things!”
When the video Miss India Earth, Aaital Khosla, submitted for the video competition in Miss Earth 2015 competition proved to be a plagiarized and was a misrepresentation, the video was taken down by the organizers. In place of the previous video, Aaital was given an opportunity to submit a new video. The new video in the competition is the same as the previous one, by replacing the scenes from Nepal by the scenes of India.
According to the Nepali contestant, Dibyata Vaidya, Aaital shouldn’t be allowed to compete in the video competition as her submission has failed to qualify and was removed. But, the organizers have allowed her the second chance by letting her upload the edited version of the video. Vaidya says, “Miss Earth Organization should not give second chance as it would be unfair to other countries who have worked so hard in so much pressure to submit the video before the deadline.”
This week two new movies Ram Babu Gurung’s ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi’ and Shovit Basnet‘s ‘Jaun Hinda Pokhara’ have released in theater. The targeted audience of these two movies are not the same but, one would certainly affect the business of the other.
The sequel of the hit movie ‘Kabaddi’ by the same team is a highly awaited movie. Set in typical village environment and featuring well known actors like Dayahang Rai and Nischal Basnet in leading role are some of the strongest aspects of the movie. Miss Earth India, Aaital Khosla has prepared a promotional video to introduce herself and her country. The promotional video is an amazing video showing the natural beauty of the land she claimed to be located in India. But, in fact, almost every part of the video is located in Nepal. In one of the scenes, Nepali vehicles and traffic police can be seen while Aaital tells, “India is one of the leading carbon-di-oxide emission in the world.”

Actress Rekha Thapa has been accused of fraud and lodged a complaint against her in the District Police Office, Khotang. In the complaint, Rekha is accused of taking advance cash for the participation in a local program and failing to show up in the program. The organizer of the program, Sagarmatha Janasewa Samaj, had paid Rs. 1,00,000 in cash to the actress for her participation.

Ganesh Puri has told that Rekha didn’t cancel her participation and the organizers couldn’t contact her at the time of the program.
In an event held in Kathmandu on November 25, 2015, the first trailer of the upcoming movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’ was released. The movie written and acted by ‘Talakjung VS Tulke’ famed Tulke – Khagendra Lamichane, in the leading role, is featured as Pashupati Prasad in the upcoming movie. The movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’ is a joint presentation of Tukee and Dipendra K Khanal production. To protest the economic blockade of India, and to ask the government to take proper steps in solving the problem in Terai, Nepali artists had teamed up to participate in a rally organized in Kathmandu on November 24, 2015. In the rally organized by Chalchitrakarmi Rastirya Jagaran Abhiyan, film artists, music artists and television artists and genera public were present.

The participants of the rally had expressed their concerns toward the public and the hardship they have faced because of the lack of things of daily needs. They have asked the government to be serious in fulfilling the demands of the protesting parties in Terai. Almost everybody in the rally were carrying the flag of Nepal and were carrying placards with their demands.

Rekha’s ex-husband had registered Rekha Films after her and produced some successful movies under the banner. When Rekha and Chhabi divorced Rekha took the production with her. Chhabi had registered Chhabiraj Films banner to produce his later films. Rekha Films and Chhabiraj Films jointly produced ‘Hamesha’ before parting their ways in their next movies. The movie produced by Santosh Sen is directed by Sudarshan Thapa and features Pooja Sharma, Pradeep Khadka, Saroj Khanal, Rupa Rana, Laxmi Giri, and Rajaram Poudel in main roles. A 2014 release movie ‘Jhola’ is based on a story by literature Krishna Dharabasi titled the same – ‘Jhola’. The story is about an ancient tradition – Sati culture, until it was banned in 1920s. In this culture a wife had to immolate herself upon her husband’s death. In the start, some women used to end their life on her husband’s death voluntary, but later women were forced to commit Sati even against their wishes.
For her role in the movie, actress Garima Panta had won the Best Actress award at the SAARC Film Festival held in Sri Lanka in 2014. The film was also selected in Nepal to represent the country in the the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards. The movie however couldn’t succeed in being nominated for the award.
