To protest the economic blockade of India, and to ask the government to take proper steps in solving the problem in Terai, Nepali artists had teamed up to participate in a rally organized in Kathmandu on November 24, 2015. In the rally organized by Chalchitrakarmi Rastirya Jagaran Abhiyan, film artists, music artists and television artists and genera public were present.

The participants of the rally had expressed their concerns toward the public and the hardship they have faced because of the lack of things of daily needs. They have asked the government to be serious in fulfilling the demands of the protesting parties in Terai. Almost everybody in the rally were carrying the flag of Nepal and were carrying placards with their demands.
The first female producer of Nepali movie is Manju Rana, the producer of the Nepali movie ‘Juni’. After Manju the professional female producer of Nepali movie is Sumitra Poudel. Producer Malati Rai produced the super-hit Nepali movie ‘Saino’. These producers were not actresses. In later days, actresses had entered film production business with mixed result.
At this time, at least 5 movies produced by actresses are recently released or waiting to release in near future. Actress Poojana Pradhan‘s debut production movie ‘Chocolete’ is releasing on December 4, 2015. Similarly, actress Karishma Manandhar‘s production ‘Falgu’ is releasing on February 17, 2016 and actress Rekha Thapa‘s production movie ‘Rampyari’ is scheduled to release on April 8, 2016. Another actress, Suvekshya Thapa‘s home co-production movie ‘Bindaas 3’ is also ready for release. Actress Ashika Tamang‘s debut movie both as an actress and as a producer was released on October 23.

Rekha Thapa
Rekha’s ex-husband had registered Rekha Films after her and produced some successful movies under the banner. When Rekha and Chhabi divorced Rekha took the production with her. Chhabi had registered Chhabiraj Films banner to produce his later films. Rekha Films and Chhabiraj Films jointly produced ‘Hamesha’ before parting their ways in their next movies. The success of Rekha’s own production ‘Kali’ and ‘Himmatwali’ were after parting from Chhabi has proved Rekha a successful film producer.

Attached below are the songs of upcoming movie ‘Prem Geet’. The movie is scheduled to release targeting the Vealentine Day, on February 12, 2016 (another movie ‘Classic’ is also scheduled to release on the same date). The movie produced by Santosh Sen is directed by Sudarshan Thapa and features Pooja Sharma, Pradeep Khadka, Saroj Khanal, Rupa Rana, Laxmi Giri, and Rajaram Poudel in main roles. The movie is the second production of Aasusen Films after ‘Chanke Shankhe Pankhe’. The music of the movie was released in a program held in Pokhara earlier this month.
There are 5 different songs, in eight different tracks – including male and female versions of the songs. The music are composed by Arjun Pokharel.
Nepali Movie – Jhola Starring – Garima Pant, Deepak Chhetri, Sujal Nepal, Deshbhakta Khanal, Laxmi Giri etc. Director – Yadav Kumar Bhattarai
A 2014 release movie ‘Jhola’ is based on a story by literature Krishna Dharabasi titled the same – ‘Jhola’. The story is about an ancient tradition – Sati culture, until it was banned in 1920s. In this culture a wife had to immolate herself upon her husband’s death. In the start, some women used to end their life on her husband’s death voluntary, but later women were forced to commit Sati even against their wishes.
For her role in the movie, actress Garima Panta had won the Best Actress award at the SAARC Film Festival held in Sri Lanka in 2014. The film was also selected in Nepal to represent the country in the the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards. The movie however couldn’t succeed in being nominated for the award.
The Nepali movie ‘Milap’ is a presentation of Om Pratik. The movie features the music of Bikash Chaudhary, cinematography of Niraj Kandel, editing by Mitra Dev Gurung, and produced by Min Bahadru Tamang. The child artists in the movie are Parina Thapa and Shaktiman Tamang.
In a Facebook post, the director and the lead actor of the popular comedy television serial, ‘Tito Satya’, Deepak Raj Giri has announced the end of the serial. In the Facebook post, Deepak has not given the real reason of the end of the serial. He has instead told that, the serial had to end because “the team wasn’t able to address the expectations of the viewers.” That might be one of the reasons, but not the real reason.

Media Hub owes Rs. 5 million to Tito Satya team
The real reason behind the end of the serial is the financial transaction between the ‘Tito Satya’ team and the distributor company Media Hub. Media Hub is the company that has purchased the broadcast slot in Nepal Television. The company deals with the collection the money from the advertisement and paying the serial producers.
Actor Rajesh Hamal is currently in the USA. He was invited by actress Jal Shah to participate in a cultural program held in Salt Lake City on November 1. After the program, Rajesh is meeting his relatives and having fun. I have compiled photos Rajesh has shared to give you the glimpse of the places he went and the people he met.
On a October 29 post Rajesh said, “In 48 hours I have moved from lush green jungles of Chitwan to concrete jungle called New York.” That was poste from Summit, NJ. In the photos he is wearing a rough jeans torn at the knees.

The second biggest festival in Nepal after Dashain, Tihar has been wrapped up on Friday November 13. The last day of Tihar – Bhai Tika is celebrated by brothers and sisters to show their love and dedication to each other. On the occasion, despite of economic blockade from India, people have followed the tradition. Update
The beauty of Bhai Tika is that people make new brothers and sisters during the festival. For example, Takme Budha (Wilson Bikram Rai) and Ashma DC and Sanyukta Puri, Jal Shah and Bikrant Basnet, Nisha Sunar and Suman Budha Magar, Naresh Bhattarai and Sapana Chamling Rai became new brothers/sisters this year.
Singer, journalist and actress Komal Oli made this year’s Bhai Tika memorable by presenting 2-litres petrol to each of her brothers. At the time of petrol-crisis in Nepal, that would certainly made the happiest brothers.
Comedy actress Palpasa Dangol, popularly known as Chamsuri has urine infection and was rushed to emergency room in Teaching Hospital right before Bhai Tika. As she had to be treated in the hospital, her brothers visited Dangol in hospital bed to take Bhai Tika. Palpasa has told that that was one of the most memorable Bhai Tika in her life.
Nepali Movie ‘Hawaldar Suntali’ is the last movie produced by Chhabi Raj Ojha under his Chhabiraj Films banner. He is currently busy in the production of ‘Kismat 2’ featuring actress Shilpa in leading role. The movie was promoted as being made on the life of Suntali Dhami – the police officer who was raped by her co-worker police officers. The movie introduction however states that the story is not based on real incidents or people.

A presentation of S2 Creation Nepali movie ‘Badmash’ is a presented by Sunil Shrestha. The movie is made on the story of the producer of the movie Sunil Shrestha. Fight director Rajendra Khadgi and actress Usha Poudel are featured in special roles in the film.

A new movie was announced on November 8, ‘Ma Ta Timrai Hoon’ in an even held at Thapathali. The movie marks the comeback of Sushmita KC after 5-years of absence from the Nepali movie industry. The movie is also the first movie to be produced by Anmol KC. Although the movie is made on the story of the relationship between mother and son, Anmol won’t be featured in the movie. He will only be the producer.

Talking in the event, Anmol told, “The movie is the story of today’s youth and it features the relationship between a mother and her son.”
Sushmita KC had stopped appearing in movies after divorcing Bhuwan KC. She had also insisted on using her maiden name Sushmita Bomjom instead of KC. As Bhuwan KC debuted as a director in his upcoming movie ‘Dreams’, there were reports of Sushmita to direct the movie. She however didn’t want to take risk and has assigned Shree Ram Mahat. The director of small screen telefilms, Mahat is also debuting as the director of big screen movies.
A cultural program titled “Nepali Pan Nepali Maan Ramailo Sanjh” with Nepali artists was organized at Salt Lake City, Utah on November 1. The program was special in the sense that actress Jal Shah organized the program and actor Rajesh Hamal was the chief guest from Nepal.
With Rajesh Hamal the program also featured actor Dilip Rayamajhi, actress Arunima Lamsal, singer Ram Krishna Dhaka, singer Yam Baral, singer Nisha Sunar, singer Sangita Thapa Magar and others. Other artists include choreographer Nabin KC and Luna Shrestha.
Producer Rose Rana is bringing back Biraj Bhatt in a Nepali movie after a long time. Both Rose and Biraj had been absent from the movie industry for more than five years. In the mean time, Biraj established himself as a action star in Bhojpuri film industry and Rose Rana got married and settled. (UPDATE – the name of the movie is titled ‘Parshuram’.)

The producer Rose Rana has a shady background with various arrests and running dance bars in Kathmandu. He was also accused of mistreating the artists in his movie. He was also accused of forcing dancers in his dance bars to dance in skimpy clothes. The end of Rana’s affair with actress Saujanya Subba also ended up in the police station. In the last few days, he had remained low-key and had got married and has a son. There were also rumors of problems in the relationship between Biraj Bhatt and Rose Rana.
UPDATE: Dinesh’s one of the daughters, Shiwane DC has thanked everybody for the response and support. She has told that it was a major accident caused by weather condition. Shiwani has told that they are required to take a rest for two days before they will travel to Atlanta. Shiwani’s statement:
For those who aren’t aware, the worsening weather conditions at Austin caused the car, that my Mom & Dad were in, to crash. It was a major accident. However, they have already sought medical treatment for their injuries.

Nepali actor and director Dinesh DC has met with an accident in his vacation tour in the USA. He was travelling with his wife Ranu DC on the celebration of their 25th anniversary of their marriage.
On November 7, 2015 Friday at around 4:30 AM, the car DC were riding collided with the car coming from the opposite direction. They were on their way to Austin airport to take a flight to Atlanta. They were taken to Brackenridge Hospital for treatment. After7-hours long treatment, they were discharged from the hospital. Ranu has a broken finger and was given 12 stitches on her face. Dinesh has sustained injury in his chest.
